I bought this product to protect my cable/phone modem rather than purchase the battery backup offered by my cable company. Why waste money purchasing THEIR battery backup which ONLY works on their product? This UPS will power ANY device that you need to keep on when you lose power! If your cell phone is dying and the power is off, just plug it in to the UPS. I wish there was more juice in the battery, but I didn't buy an expensive UPS, so it will serve it's purpose at a good value.

The battery back up surge protector was purchased at an excellent price (under $60 if I recall correctly). We seldom need to worry about the power going out, though it is nice to have even a 10 minute window to save our work if electricity goes out. Seems solid built, considering purchasing more for other office equipment here.
