Apple iPad mini (Latest Model) with Wi-Fi + Cellular - 64GB (Verizon)
I purchased this to replace my old iPad mini (that was the original iPad mini!). I have waited a long time but it was worth it!
I have not used all the features, but so far I love it. Everything is so fast on it! Of course, the main reason I got it was to Facetime with our family that lives on the west coast. The screen is beautiful - my husband recently watched a football game on it and couldn't get over how fantastic the picture was!
I am sure it has technological abilities that I may never use, but the bottom line is that I have had other tablets, different brands, and this one by far is the best!
Love the new iPad but it was sold with a discount to activate a Verizon cellular plan. Unfortunately this iPad CANNOT get Verizon cellular service. After an hour and a half, multiple Verizon customer service agents, tech support and a Apple tech support agent we figured this out. Verizon wanted me to return it so they could free me from the contract and activation fees but after my insistence, and a great service rep they were gracious enough to say I could keep the device and not pay the fees. So I am just using WiFi.
We are enjoying the Ipad Mini 5. Not gamers but enjoy Facetime capability. The product is fine. I was disappointed in the sales policy of a lower price only for first time buyers. We are loyal customers with Best Buy and our mobile provider (long time customer 25 years plus)….but no loyalty bonus provided for us in regard to the purchase.

Apple iPad mini review (2019): Still the best small tablet

iPad mini 5 review: when portability matters most [Video]

2019 iPad mini review roundup: Four clear themes emerge …
The 2019 iPad mini reviews are out, and they are pretty consistent – with four clear themes emerging. First, this is an evolutionary device, not a revolutionary one. That's in large part because Apple wanted to hit the same price-point, one likelyFull Review
A:AnswerYou do not have to have your iPad connected to your cellular service in order to be able to access the internet and streaming services. As long as you have access to Wi-Fi (in your home, in a friend's home, at the coffee shop, in the doctor's office) you will be able to access the internet on your iPad. You just need to connect to those wi-fi accounts which in most instances will need a password to connect. (And sometimes you will be advised that the wi-fi you are connecting to is not secure....)
However, the cellular service will enable you to use your iPad anywhere, even if Wi-Fi isn't available. So, if you are traveling in your car, your iPad will connect to the cellular service for your provider in that area. Just as your phone automatically connects to the cellular network for your provider as you go from town to town, your iPad will do the same thing. But, if you are in your home, or a friend's home, hotel, etc., it is best to connect your phone or iPad (or laptop or whatever) to their secure Wi-Fi. I believe that this also saves your cellular data usage...
(Did I explain that right?)
A:AnswerI have 5 GB of data w/Verizon and I share this data with my phone service. Though, Verizon has several different variations of data plans that you can have. I pay a $10 monthly fee for my iPad mini 5 tablet to be on the account and just share the data. I hope this helps. You can always go to Verizon’s website to view their data plans.
