Can't go wrong for the price!

To make this as straight-forward as possible, I'm going to put my review into a few categories; Design, Sound, Comfort, and Price. DESIGN: The "innovation" to make a multi-vented enclosure, versus sealed or infinite-baffle, out of the small available space intrigued me. Even though I wasn't in the market to pick up a set of in-ear headphones, the design made me I want to give them a shot. SOUND: In my opinion, these headphones live up to the "hype" of their commercials. The vented enclosure allows for smooth high, mid, and low response. With increased volume, the sound did not distort and held a strong harmonic blend. The sound actually reminded me of a set of Bose AE2s I had. Coming from in-ear headphones, I was impressed. After my first round of listening, I passed them to my friend and let him sample them. PRO from him listing was he said "they sound better than my beats!" referring to his $150 Beats By Dre "Tour" in-ear headphones; CON from him listening was I could hear EVERYTHING he was listening to even at lower volume (most likely due to the vented enclosure allowing for sound to escape). COMFORT: This area is so variable since, as the commercials say, everyone's ears are different, but these fit me very well. They fit comfortably in my ears and do not easily fall out. I have used these working out and they did not fall out on my jog. ALSO, the prior Apple headphones would get sweat on them and make me feel like I had water in my ears (not sure if this has happened to anyone else), this pair did not. I was sweating quite a bit and the headphones still felt dry in my ears. PRICE: For the price you can't go wrong. These sound good and are comfortable… not really sure what else you'd expect from $30 headphones.

    Best for the $$$

I have tested a bunch of the new sets of earbuds out there right now to see which ones, in my opinion, sound the best (while staying in my ear while running) considering the price. First, I bought the Motorola SD11 bluetooth that wrap around your head. They were great for running, but the bluetooth sound technology still isn't good enough yet, and they aren't worth $100. Then, I bought the UrBeats, and they wouldn't stay in my ear. They also didn't sound good enough to be $100...returned them. Next, I bought the PowerBeats hoping they would sound better than the UrBeats since they are more expensive. They did stay in my ear (I don't think they had a choice), but they don't sound good enough for $150...returned them. Finally, I tried the Bose MIE2 after too many people told me to try them. These sound awesome...way better than any of the beats...don't even waste your time. The Beats buds are cheap and sound like a $20 set of Philips. The Bose fit very comfortably in your ear with the silicon, and they sound like Bose. The Bose has great high sounds and clarity (like the Beats), but the Bose also has great bass sounds. The Beats "claim" to have great bass, but the don't I promise you. The Bose buds complete the great sound you want with the whole package. But this review isn't about the Bose set...this is about the Apple set. The Apple set sounds just like the Bose...for...wait for it...$30. Everything that I was looking for that the Bose has that the Beats didn't...the Apple Pods do as well for a fraction of the price. They feel great in your ear, and don't come out during a run. The one caveat to this review is that my first set of these that came with my iPhone5 had the right side go out way too soon. I knew I liked the sound of these originally, but I thought for sure these other expensive sets would have to be even better right? wrong. I put 2 stars for durability considering the lifespan of my first set, but I will change it depending on how this second set works out. If you want great earbuds that stay in your ear and have $150 dollar sound, then get these. If you want great sounding buds and you have $150 burning a hole in your pocket buy the Bose...and for the love...do not buy Beats buds. The Beats "real" over-ear phones are great...just not the buds.

    Well Worth the Money

This review for the Apple - EarPods™ with Remote and Mic - White was written with the following criteria in mind: durability, fit, sound quality, tangling and price. These Apple headphones were recently purchased for my daughter to replace the last set I bought her a couple of years ago. Prior to these, she was constantly breaking her cheaper headphones within a month, sometimes in a matter of days. In fact, the week these headphones were ordered, she bought a cheap set to get her by that lasted a day before the left ear bud stopped working. These Apple headphones are also perfect for her for her small ears. They fit in her ears well and this is very important to her. She does quite a bit of running and has little or no problem with them falling out. These headphones would be good for anyone who is active and wants a durable product to stand up to a lot of wear and tear. The sound quality is excellent as well. These headphones are recommended for anyone who doesn’t mind paying a little bit of money for a set of headphones that could potentially last up to two years. Although these amazing headphones are durable and have great sound quality, there are a few minor characteristics that could be improved upon. The headphones can become tangled, but if you are careful, you can easily untangle them which is not that big of an issue. Another drawback is that they are only available in white. It would be nice to see them at least in black or some other colors as well. Once again, this is a minor thing. White goes with pretty much anything anyway. Finally, the cost of these headphones is expensive. It is hard to justify spending around thirty dollars on them, but it is worth it when they last two years. You can spend a lot more money on cheaper headphones that break in a month.

    Useful and comfortable earpods

I appreciate these ear pods for a number of reasons: They are small and portable, and easy to carry with me. I can use the built-in microphone with my computer for speech recognition, and I can use it with my tablet or phone for Skyping. They don't amplify the sound of my own chewing and swallowing like in-ear buds do Being slightly hard of hearing, and I have to turn the cheap over-the head headphones to near max volume to clearly understand words on some videos, and this bothers the person sitting next to me. These have the sound directly in my ear so I can hear well at lower volume with no "sound leakage". Good quality over-ear headphones block out most noise, which is great if I really need to concentrate, but often I have other responsibilities to deal with, such as answering my kids questions, or letting the dog out when she barks, or investigating the crashing noise from the next room. With these I can still hear outside sounds while I am wearing them, so I am more comfortable wearing these around the house. I can easily wear only one earpod at a time, so I can pay attention to what is going on in the room, but still hear if a phone call on hold actually connects me with a live person. Finally, I sometimes get insomnia, and listening to music or a familiar audiobook helps me go to sleep, but I can't play this out loud or it keeps my spouse awake. Other headphones are really uncomfortable to wear in bed, but these are small enough that they are comfortable, so I get to sleep. Overall a great all-purpose solution.

The only thing I would change about these ear pods is the color because I have a black iPhone. I guess Apple will keep the trade mark white ear buds which is cool, but I'm hoping to have them in multiple colors to match my devices and cases. I do understand from the other comments that if you have extremely small ears, they would be a little uncomfortable because they are molded plastic. My input is the design was well thought of and I am so glad I got them. I can cut the grass in them and I know they won't fall out. I even tried them on while still attached to the travel case in front of my co-worker and I shook my head dramatically to show him that they wouldn't fall out. I like the fact that they are only $29.00. They sound really good too. Not as much bass as the Skull Candy Ink'd ear buds, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you were jogging you would want to hear if a dog started running after you , right? I will use these if I am going to be active and my other ear buds when I want just blast my music to really get crunk! Thanks Apple and thanks Best Buy for providing us with great products.

Thankfully the Best Buy rep assisted me in getting the correct IPhone earbuds for my phone. I grabbed the ones without the microphone at first, by mistake! I was replacing ones that came with my phone (daughter keeps stealing them!) They are great quality at a reasonable price. You could buy cheaper ones, but I feel many others are inferior and you'd end up buying three cheap ones to last as long as these and the sound quality would also be lacking. I mainly use them to listen to music and they have great bass sound without drowning out the mid-range and treble notes. I also love that I don't have to take them out to take a phone call, the music drops out and the ring tone comes thru and I can adjust the volume on the cord and pause and restart the music with the same simple toggle switch. I also love to use them on road trips to listen music, and the navigator app on my phone. The only earbud headphones I buy!

Very Durable Earbuds with Good Sound Quality

I bought these at my daughter's request for use with her i-pod nano. She doesn't like the "inside the ear" canal earbuds with the silicone or rubber bud tips. I have listened to Apple's round earbuds which just fit inside the outer ear and was not impressed with fit, comfort, or sound quality. However, these buds are of a molded plastic design that slips easily into the ear without the need for any silicone bud tips. The "all plastic" design makes them very durable without having to worry about losing the bud tips. Apple definitely put some research into the design and sound quality of these earbuds. They fit easily into the outer ear, and their tapered design efficiently directs the sound into the ear. There is an additional narrow port on the inner portion of the bud which probably helps contribute to better bass response. The sound is actually quite good for a relatively inexpensive set of earbuuds. Decent bass response, mid-range and vocals are clear, treble is crisp without being zingy are harsh. Since they don't actually seal in the ear canal, you can hear a good deal of outside noise and they don't stay in place very well if you are moving around or exercising. However, for the price, these are very portable (durable) earbuds with good overall sound. I would recommend them to anyone for general listening in a quiet room.

    They don't last . . .

Apple headphones are not made to last. I usually get about 3 to 6 months before one of the earpieces stops working or the inline controls no longer function. I think it's because Apple's strain relief mechanism at the jack plug is poorly engineered. It does little to nothing to protect the integrity of the wire connections into the tip. It also doesn't help that Apple's design is a straight headphone plug rather than 90 degrees. The straight design places undo stress on the connections when your iPhone or iPod is in your pocket. In fact, due to this poor design, I believe Best Buy no longer offers product protection for purchase on these headphones. On the plus side, as you long as you have your receipt, from wherever you purchased (Best Buy, Amazon, etc.), you can go into the Apple Store and they will honor the one year warranty. I mostly listen to audio podcasts so sound quality is not my top priority and one reason I don't want to invest in expensive headphones. I also want the mic/inline controls on my headphones and there aren't many choice in this price range that offer that. Therefore, I reluctantly recommend these headphones with the above reservations. Be sure to SAVE YOUR RECEIPT!
