A: Okay. I m not a sprint employee. I m a sprint customer. I have been with sprint for 6 months. I have the iPhone 7 and I was thinking about upgrading my phone. I talk to customer service over the phone and asked about the 8. They told me once my phone is paid off I can get the 8. I don't hve to trade in my iPhone 7, I have the option of keeping it or trading it towards the purchase of an 8.

Unfortunately I learnt this from experience and once I uncovered the issue received no support from BestBuy despite specifically requesting an unlocked iPhone that would work outside the US.
