Apple does it again!!
|Posted .The new 64GB Apple iPod Touch is much lighter, thinner and even a bit taller so it looks like an iPhone 5, just without the phone part. The Retina screen is much brighter, and crisper than previous iPod Touch's. Overall, another top-notch product from Apple!! I do recommend a case for it. I didn't want any scratches etc. on my new iPod Touch. I just wish Apple would come out with a 128GB version...

Beautiful
Posted .This Ipod is incredible! Lightening fast transfer speed, excellent wifi coverage where my laptop would start to lag. The only thing is the earpods suck and I'll be upgrading them to a pair of shure earbuds. You have to invest the extra $100 to have plenty of space for movies. out of the box it has 57gb and thats enough for 57 HD movies from the itunes store.

The Greatest Generation
Posted .I hesitated buying the new iPod touch, but after some thought I eventually bought it and haven't thought twice about it. I previously owned the iPod touch 4th Gen and I've had it for two years and felt it was a perfect time to upgrade. Compared to the 4th Gen, the new iPod touch is a much needed improvement. The screen has finally been made larger, so viewing web pages, apps, and videos (I have 16GB + of video) is far more enjoyable than the smaller 4th Gen screen. The screen is also a widescreen (16:9), the same as any widescreen television (the 4th Gen was 3:2, a ratio used a lot by higher-end cameras like DSLR's). The screen even seems to be more color accurate when doing a side-by-side comparison to the 4th Gen. As always, the iPod touch is very responsive to touch without any serious hiccups. The upgraded processor is to thank for that. Opening apps is smooth and quick, with larger apps that would take a long time to load on the 4th Gen now opening in many cases in less than half the time, and when running there is rarely any lag. The camera is obviously improved over the camera of the 4th Gen. Now at 5 megapixels and with an improved image sensor, photos are actually worth taking with the new iPod touch. Photos are a lot sharper and clearer. I've been trying to get the infamous purple flare in photos, but I haven't gotten it yet, which is a good thing. The front facing camera is a lot better as well, good for video chat, however a front facing camera is really only good for self portraits right now since hardly anyone actually video chats, yet (hopefully someday it catches on). Battery life is improved as well. Unfortunately, I can't compare the battery life against the 4th Gen as its battery is too old to test being two years old, but you can get well over a days use of it without even thinking about recharging with the new iPod touch. Finally, since the 1st Generation iPod touch, Apple gave the 5th Gen a brushed aluminium back, similar to the MacBook Pros, so scratching the back will be more difficult and won't be as noticeable as the reflective stainless steel (or was it aluminum as well?) back. It also feels nicer in your hand and has a better grip to it, which is nice to have with the iPod touch being so thin. However, I did buy a case for it just in case. The loop is nice to have, especially if you plan to use the iPod touch as a camera. The loop felt somewhat sturdy, but I wouldn't push it (so no swinging the iPod touch in circles with it). Audio quality, which is the most important feature of any music player, is pretty much the same and really depends on your headphone selection. The new EarPods were a nice improvement, but I'll stick to my over-the-ear set I have. The internal speaker seems clearer, but its not that noticeable of an improvement. My one real issue with the new 5th Gen iPod touch is the new Lightning connector. Yes, it was a much needed change, but if you have a lot of accessories that use the 30-pin connector you will need to purchase an adapter, which is currently priced at around $30 to $40. I have only two accessories with the 30-pin connector, so it won't be an issue for me, but for some it will be an issue. Now, this feature I must have overlooked when I bought the new iPod touch because I was shocked to see the new iPod touch have Siri. You will need a WiFi connection to use Siri, as well as any type of Voice Control, such as for music. One issue, and it has nothing to with the iPod touch quality or performance, is the price. I would think by now the iPod touch would be cheaper to keep its lead in the MP3 market, and $400 for 64GB is still pretty high, but I'm sure it will keep its lead for the foreseeable future. Overall, the new 5th Generation iPod Touch is by far the best iPod touch yet, and I am perfectly satisfied with it. If you really want to upgrade from your older iPod touch, or you're new to MP3's, the iPod touch is the way to go as it has the greatest ecosystem of apps, features, and accessories, with the highest quality of any MP3 player.

Wonderful Electronic Everything
|Posted .I used to think that an iPod was just used for listening to music, but this iPod touch does everything. Yes, listening to music, even through my car stereo, is great, but it also takes photos and video. I can Skype to friends using the built in camera. I can watch videos or play games while I am waiting for appointments or at the airport. I also rely on this amazing device to keep track of my contacts, appointments, notes, and anything else that is vital. If you don't need an iPhone, but you want everything else it does, this is for you. I don't know what I would do without my iPod!!!

Amazing, but feels fragile.
Posted .I love just about everything with my new iPod touch. The best feature so far is the new 5 MegaPixel iSight Camera with Panorama. The Camera isn't as great as the iPhone 5, but its 100 steps above the iPod Touch (4th Gen) Camera. Its comfortable to use. I know Samsung has been ragging on Apple in their recent advertisements about having a bigger screen and how they only made it taller and things like that but in all honesty, the entire idea of "taller not wider" was the best thing Apple could have done for the new iPhones and iPods. It really does keep it easy to use with one hand, and it does allow you to see more information from top top bottom. I'm sorry Samsung, but I don't feel like hyperextending my thumb to reach the "D" key when I'm sending someone a message one handed. The only negative thing I can say about it is the weight. I feel like a stiff wind could break this thing. They made it SO thin and SO light. I almost hesitate taking it places because I'm afraid for it. I guess thats why they gave it the Wrist Loop, but even that thing seems a little cheap. Overall, the Good outweighs the Bad by tons. I love my new iPod, and I hope this review helps you make the best decision.

Not bad at all.
|Posted .I've owned a lot of Music players in my time and most of them were "good enough." But when my music collection grew to proportions that my old ones couldn't accomodate, I sprung for the 64 G iPod touch. Black. I entertained the idea of the Zune but it didn't seem all that impressive and has since been discontinued. so iPod it was. It holds everything I need it to. It accesses the web nicely enough. It plays games. It sends messages to other internet connected idevices. Most of the time, it does all the things it said it would on the box. I must say that I'm STILL running ios6 because what I saw of 7 looked horrendously superfluous, arbitrary and uneccasary. The app icons were ugly the color scheme was rediculous. The paralax effect did nothing to improve the product. The new features were hit or miss as a majority of the new ios is aesthetic rather than functionally superior. However, it rises above the competition as there isn't any. It is great because being my MP3 player and not being my PHONE, I don't have to rely on it when it does weird things or glitches out. I would recommend this to a patient person who really needs a lot of music in one place.
