I always loved the Midnight Blue color case for this phone so I purchased this for my iPhone 8 Plus, since the phone is the same size as the 7 Plus - it does fit. It does look great and the inside soft felt like fabric should protect the new glass back on iPhone 8/8 Plus from possible heavy scratching, smudges and fingerprints.
A slight downside right now is that this is my first Apple Leather case and the very first thing I noticed was how slippery the sides, top are. Very different compared to my old Apple 6 Plus Silicone case which I found had very nice grip to it, there was no fear of having it slip out of your hands.
From what I read on other sites this case, especially the Midnight Blue (Storm Gray model also) yes others found it extremely slippery at first but after a week or two the grip felt much better. I suppose it's basically "breaking it in - the leather will become softer in time." So I will hold on to it and hope it does just that.
*Update - Sept 30. The case feels much better since my initial review, not as slippery. Also keep in mind, these do scratch easily, expect minor scuffs . It's not damaged with deep scratches where the case it compromised or it looks just bad. I basically see this like a pair of new sneakers, you will get scuffs. I don't mind it. But If you want a case that will look pristine for a long long time - this may not be for you. Perhaps a leather cleaner/conditioner will remove these, make it look new again. I'm not sure right now, it's something I personally need to try at some point. I still like the case.
