Absolutely Love it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a LONG time Windows user (20+ years). My last laptop was a Lenovo and it was a good laptop for about 4 years and then started spontaneously crashing during important school assignments. This seems to be typical of a windows machine after about 4-5 years of heavy use. I use my laptop about 4-5 hours a day almost every day because I’m a student and hey, I like to browse in my free time. So after my Lenovo began crashing here and there, I decided to buy a new laptop and I went with this version of MacBook Air. It’s been an interesting transition, as many functions are different on a Mac and I’m still learning. However, I find the interface to be very aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate compared to a Windows. If I had never used a computer before, a Mac would be easier to learn than Windows. I like this version because it has 2 USB ports and that’s just something I’m not willing to give up right now with the newer MacBooks. The design is beautiful, the keyboard is functional and the webcam is outstanding for a built in. Many people have complained that 128 GB of storage isn’t enough but so far, I haven’t had any problems and still have 98 GB left. Most apps that I use don’t come from the App Store (Internet downloads use less storage) and I don’t store any photos on my MAC or music (I use Spotify And store photos in the cloud from my phone). For what I use this MAC for, I have plenty of space. However, I don’t like Microsoft Word for Mac. It’s not as user friendly, and many of the functions are either missing, hidden or are just downright complicated to use. If you use this app heavily like I do, that’s something to consider. I’ve also noticed that when I’m sitting on the couch or in my bed with the computer in my lap, the gap on the bottom of the Mac in front of the keyboard kind of digs into my hand while using the trackpad. I’ve been pulling my sleeve down to keep this from happening so it’s kind of annoying. I will say that the screen display is not as high definition as most new windows machines but the brightness and color accuracy of the MAC is still unmatched even with this model. I may also mention that the font on the Mac windows is pretty small and kind of irritating at times. If you change the resolution, it doesn’t look as clear so I’ve just dealt with it. And with websites you can adjust the text size so that’s helpful. File finder is taking some getting used to but it’s not THAT much different than Windows. Overall, I’m loving this laptop and I’ve been finding myself wanting to use it just to use it, which never happened when I had a Windows. Mac OS feels like luxury compared to boring ole windows. Not sure if I’ll upgrade to a newer MAC in the future bc of the butterfly keyboard and the loss of the USB ports but for now, I’m a happy camper.

Best work computer out there...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have many computers (even a newer and older Macbook Pro). But this is the one that I went back to for work every day. I often must access files and internet on the go throughout the day and found the larger laptops clumsy in the car/van to work with. The design is so light and portable. The screen resolution (not hi-res) is perfect for my aging eyes. The response/speed has always been super on these units - programs open up faster than on my home system. I need the XD card slot for pictures and file storage (best, smallest external drive there is). I hook it up to a monitor at home for legal document preparation - easily done because of the mini-display port... I had one years ago and let go of it for a larger powerhorse laptop and truly missed it. So glad to have reinvested in one - well worth the money I spent under $1,000). I have absolutely no complaints - this is a very functional, huge timesaver for me professionally.

so far so good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i’ve had this for almost a month now and everything seems to be running smooth! came brand new, packaging and everything in place. it did need updated to the most recent version of macOS but that was an easy fix. it hasn’t lagged for me, it doesn’t overheat, and the battery lasts fairly well for me in between charges. my only issue would be a considerably mild one; whenever i plug in my iphone using an apple power chord, it will not give me a steady charge... the macbook will basically notify me that the chord is being plugged in and out when my phone is kept in place. not sure if this is a new phone issue of mine or if it’s the laptop but nonetheless, it does everything else that i need it for. perfect for someone on the go and students who need a quality laptop to take back and forth to class. it is light for me to carry and simple to use.

Glad I finally made this purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been wanting to buy a MacBook for a while, but always put it off. Now that I've had it for a few weeks I can say that I'm really glad that I finally bought it! I've always used PC's, but was quickly able to get accustomed to using this MacBook (I've been using iPhones and iPad's for a while, so that could be why). It's easy to use and charges really quickly. It has been working perfectly during the stay at home order with all the work I've been doing from home ( Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings, Word and Excel documents, Google Docs, and lots of research).

Great For the price.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sales rep wasnt very helpful. Due to lack of knowledge. I’m assuming. My Daughter needed a computer ASAP for school work! Due to coronavirus. And her other computer crashed. So I still trusted Apple. So we went ahead and made the purchase. He told my daughter it had 128 SSD It does not . It’s Flash Storage. I truly feel this computer sold itself in the time of need. Computer runs perfectly fine. I love Apple products! Sales rep was just there to ring it up. I feel Sales reps should be taught information on the different types of storage. Speed etc!

Great Laptop
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop it light and easy to use, we have always had apple products and used the iMac and MacBook Pro before this purchase, I was skeptical at first because I was so used to a MacBook Pro and iMac desktop I wasn’t sure how I would like something so small. I love it! It’s very convenient not heavy to carry and buying a case to put on it made it really cute. I’ve never had any problems with it.

Q: QuestionIs the Apple - MacBook Air susceptible to computer virusus. I was told they don't get virusus.
Asked by Cat.
- A:Answer you can get a virus but it is better than a pc, I don't have antivirus on my mac and I have had it for 5 years don't download free music or free movies or other high-risk websites and you will be ok. I'm a computer technician and all I use is mac for the past 7 years and wont go back to use pc's

Q: QuestionIs 8gb a lot for the MacBook? I got my daughter an iPad with 8gb and she filled that really quick- should I get one with more gb?
Asked by Pjmom.
- A:Answer I think you are mistaking RAM for hard drive size. 8 GB RAM is fine for most people that don't have memory intensive programs; you can run 6-8 programs at one time on it and it won't "lag". Storage space is what you are talking about on your daughter's iPad; this macbook air has minimum 128GB of hard drive and goes up from there (of course so does the price).
