Upgrade from 2013 MacBook Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with this purchase so far. I got my first MacBook Pro 6/7 years ago, and it still works great for the most part, but I'm going to need to use my computer more for work and figured I'd upgrade to a newer model to be safe for more consistent everyday use. I was looking at the MacBook Pro's initially, but quickly realized the specs on the 2020 MacBook Air's were very similar but also slightly better than my old MacBook Pro, so since I didn't need a huge change in performance, I went with the cheaper alternative. The fan does run loudly when playing videos, but otherwise it performs great and is perfect for users who need it for school work/emails/watching shows or movies/playing music. I like the Touch ID feature, especially for passwords, it makes it feel a little more secure that I still have to use my fingerprint to use saved passwords. And the battery life is really good. I usually let it sleep instead of shutting down regularly, and the battery takes a long time to drain. The speakers are also pretty good for laptop speakers. I really like the Space Gray color, too. Sometimes I miss the bright white old school MacBooks, but the colors and finishes are really nice on the new ones so it balances out. And it's nice and light, definitely nice for portability since I plan on having to bring it back and forth with me a lot for work. Overall, Apple knows how to make a great product, and this computer is no different. If you're looking for an entry level computer to get you into the Apple world, I'd recommend this one.

Super sleek and pretty!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have a 2012 Mac and loved it- had it for about 6 years before I damaged it. I can certainly see and feel the updates they’ve made. It’s super light, fast, and easy to navigate. I’malways gonna go with Macs because they are reliable and honestlywork much better than PCs to me. Also love the rose gold color option!!

Goodbye Windows. Hello MacOS.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost. I have been an avid Windows user for about 15 years. I even had a Windows Phone when those were in existence. For the past 4 years I have made my way into the Apple ecosystem and I feel that this has been the best choice for me. Long story short, this MacBook purchase culminates my love for all things Apple. Granted it isn't as powerful as the Pro version but for what I do with editing photos, mixing music and video all while browsing the web, it is sufficient in its ability to preform!

Convenient
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone always talks down on a MacBook Air. But, I love mine. It’s perfect for my photography business and has lots of storage, and fast. I even brought my 10 year old one because of how pleased I was with mine, and she has been using it and loving it for remote learning and gaming.

Great laptop, Apple Quality as you expect
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and we bought this for her upcoming school year. Very nice laptop and definitely the Quality you expect from Apple. The only thing I wish was better would be the webcam. The webcam is 720 not 1080HD- if you are doing lots of video chats you will be disappointed with the webcam it comes with. This is not a primary use feature for us so not a big deal but worth mentioning. The rose gold is a very nice color!

Great for beginners.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keeping this short. This is IDEAL for beginners and pros alike. I live in NYC and work in showbiz. Broadway etc. Covid displaced me from my home in Queens and my work is all on hold until 2021. I decided to take this time to get my Masters degree ONLINE as it’s the ONLY option to learning. The task is daunting as a professional in their late 30s because of the online learning aspect. I jumped in and bought this knowing NOTHING about computers aside from editing Film footage. Well, that was 8/29. One month later, I’m not only taking classes but I’m online and attaining all A’s. I attribute this to how EASY and user friendly this product is for ANY AGE. I’m beyond pleased with this purchase.

I Love My Mac Air
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Mac Air. The keyboard is so easy to type on and I love the Rose Gold Color. Excellent display as well. Watching Netflix or Hulu has good screen quality. Still getting use to the shot cut demands. Also bought a iMac CD/DVD writer to transfer my music and was a easy hook up.

What a great purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made the jump finally to a Mac and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. This Macbook Air is a great machine for an ultra portable laptop. Even thought it is an ultra portable laptop it doesn't feel cheap or slow or like it is holding back anything from a performance standpoint. The Mac OS is better than I expected and the fit and finish of this laptop is the best I have ever used. I have been using exclusively Dell and Lenovo brand laptops for many years and I now realize I have been missing out on this addition of the Apple ecosystem for too long.

Q: QuestionDifference between this MacBook Air (512GB) compared to the Brand New release of the 2020 Macbook Pro 13 inch (512GB)? Which one would be the better choice out of the two and why?
Asked by Danh.
- A:Answer I purchased the “Latest model” which is the 2020 MBA (review product specs). This product has a 10th gen processor (faster), touch ID is integrated into the keyboard, and the display has True Tone technology - just to name a few features.

Q: QuestionWill this laptop be good for online college classes? Using Zoom, and typing a document, while using chrome. I have heard that this laptop overheats when video chatting. Does it? Does the fan get really loud? Thanks!
Asked by Kole.
- A:Answer just bought this same one (but with the touchbar) for the same reason -- working GREAT so far!

Q: QuestionIs it necessary to purchase anti-virus software for Mac computers?
Asked by Stephanie.
- A:Answer These days, yes. I have a Mac running High Sierra. When I brose the online news services sneaky pop ups request that I upgrade my flash. I am also bombarded in my emails with phishing, trying to download viruses. But, the worst attempts are trojans lurking in fake update prompts. Best Buy sells Webroot security. There is nothing better right now. The poor reviews of this product are because the the reviewers are unable to test cloud based security. Testing for a review requires lab grade equipment, not subjective responses.

Q: QuestionWhat is the Touch ID means? Is it touch screen?
Asked by Haya.
