As a professional artist, I absolutely balked at purchasing something more than $1000 more than the competition to keep using apple architecture, however, I'm really glad I made the purchase. The throttling issues have been solved as far as I know, and although the battery life is unfortunate, (less than half of what apple says there should be) the screen is wonderful, the computer is responsive and fast and does what I need it to for both art/image creation and publishing software. It handles podcasting equipment easily and aside from the added pain in the gluteus maximus zone to connect anything "legacy" to a USB C hub (which of course is another 40 bucks) --totally worth it. If you're a professional on the fence but haven't found anything better that calls to you- I say you might as well go for it. I'm happy I did.

This is the best Laptop I’ve had the pleasure of owning. Thanks to Andy a “Sales-associate” at BestBuy Springfield, Ohio. I’ve had several Windows operating systems. Tech support is rude and if I hear “We so sorry you’re having trouble sir. This is my first Macintosh solid platform that works. Once you get a Mac you’ll never go back.
This review is from Apple - MacBook Pro - 15" Display with Touch Bar - Intel Core i9 - 16GB Memory - AMD Radeon Pro 555X - 512GB SSD

Intel Core i9 is all I really need to say. However, this is replacing my 17” Macintosh from 2010. Here is to another 8 years! Thank you Scott at Best Buy in Lancaster, Ohio!
