Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Silver

I've read how Appple states we live in a all wireless world which I agree it is becoming. Ur there are still times when you need to go back to the past like useing cd's for presentations or assignment for school or to just watch a film on your laptop (yes kids there are still people who watch movies this way especially if your wifi is very weak as it can be when traveling). I find Apples SuperDrive as a necessary tool as most macs no longer come with a drive. I like to burn music cd's and this is very fast in that process plus aesticetly it is a good looking product that fits oerfictky with a Apple laptop it's small enough to pull around in your laptop Everyone may not need it & yes there are less expensive options the Apple SuperDrive is still a good option with the looks & performance to satisfy any user.

I've use this superdrive to play DVDs and burn CD's on my new IMac(which I love as well). So easy to install and the price at BestBuy was cheaper than at the Apple Store.

New MacBooks do not come with a CD/DVD drive, but still get the external just in case. I got it and ended up putting all of my old CD's on iTunes. Now enjoying music that I haven't listened and to in years.

I was a little disappointment that my 5k 27 inch Imac did not have a CD and DVD player but I guess it had to be removed to make the computer thinner. I still own a lot of music in CD form and want to create DVD videos for the family who are still behind the whole Bluray technology. I have tested this device importing audio and data from CDs and still works like a champ. I have over 30 CDs of data from the past that I forgot about so I used this device to import my stuff to my computer. I will update my review if it fails.

I made it through without an optical media drive on my iMac until one day I decided I needed one. After reading some reviews that cast a poor shade on the quality of Apple's SuperDrive, I took the chance and have been very happy with my purchase. While I don't use it very often, it works well and is sufficient for my needs. Did I really need it? That still remains a hot topic of debate.

Only used this portable external drive a couple of times. The sound track comes from the computer so the sound is quite precise, tone excellent. Other than that I cannot say anything bad about this external drive.

I love my Apple SuperDrive you literally plug it in and start using it. It is super compact and has a sleek gender neutral design. I love it! The only bad thing about it is that is was a little pricey, however it is so easy to use and so compact that I would say it was worth the money.
