Arris Surfboard Dual Band router love it so far !
|Posted .I purchased the Arris - SURFboard AC1600 Dual-Band Router with Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem. Because I didn't want to be hit with charges on my cable company. I don't like being nickel and dime over cost for renting the cable company's modem and router.. I've had the modem/wifi router now for about a good solid month and a half. It was simple to get the modem up and running to hitches at all. You just have to make sure that your cable carrier states the modem is comparable to what they use. My carrier had a list of modems that they suggested would work. The Arris is very fast, no drops, haven't experienced any slowness. It was a good purchase and priced fairly.

Q: QuestionJust had XFinity at my house for 2 hours trying to connect with this modem and concluded Modem was defective and I needed to swap it with another one(liked brand and model though) Is this possible? He said Cable internet signal was fine, modem is problem.
Asked by Jraj.
- A:Answer I have Xfinity also and have had this particular modem for about a month. I have been on the phone with the tech support three different times. And I have had everything checked out and I am still having problems. I am returning it and getting a different modem. Your problems are not your internet, they are the modem. Do not exchange it for this particular model.

Q: Question3 wireless connectionsWhen setting up unit, there are 2.5 & 5 - connecting IPad 2, Samsung pad, & older lap-top running MS Vista. I am guessing IPad & Samsung @ 5 and lap-top 2.5 ----- is that feasible, or is it one or the other?
Asked by MARA.
- A:Answer It depends on if your device is newer to lock on to the 5GHz wi-fi signal from the wireless router. Check your device's specifications. If it was built after 2013 and has wi-fi 802.11ac then it should be able to receive/transmit on the unlicensed 5GHz signal from this Arris Motorola modem router.
