Season 6 of the superhero series deals with the aftermath of the explosion that destroyed the island at the end of the previous season. Thea (Willa Holland) is badly injured and is left in a coma, while Samantha (Hannah Hopkins) makes Oliver (Stephen Amell) promise to look after their son after her death. As the season progresses, Oliver struggles with balancing his roles as Mayor and Green Arrow with being a father to William (Jack Moore), so he decides to give up his life as vigilante and pass the torch to Diggle (David Ramsey) to spend more time with his son and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).
I've been watching Arrow from Season 1, and this season does 2 things incredibly well: it ups the stakes from previous seasons in terms of the main plot and the relationships between the characters, and it brings Arrow back to its roots. Season 6 is a lot closer to seasons 1-3 in a good way; whereas Seasons 4 and 5 felt very different. We see old favorite characters return and some of the new characters take a smaller role. I thought the progression of the plot and reveal of the main villain were exceptionally well done. Some things I wasn't too thrilled about: the cliffhanger finale from Season 5 is all but wrapped up in the very first episode, which feels anti-climactic; there are a LOT of side-plots going on throughout this Season, and it sometimes seems there isn't enough detail given to them because of their sheer number; the finale for this Season leaves a lot of questions unresolved, which won't be a problem if they are dealt with properly in Season 7 instead of just swept under the rug like the beginning of this Season. All in all, definitely my favorite Season out of Seasons 4-6.

I loved this whole series and was not happy it was canceled. But grateful that I get the whole series thru Best Buy over the years.
