Not The Best, But Still Real Good

In my opinion this third season of Arrow wasn't the best. I didn't quite like where it was going and I spent a lot of the time saying to myself(the TV) "What the heck? What are you doing? You can't be going this direction! This would be dumb!" That being said, it doesn't mean that it was anything less than the Arrow quality we've come to expect. Still had great acting, writing, lighting, action, the works. I mean, I still went and bought it didn't I? LOL. Look, I'm not really going to waste too much more time on reviewing this show after 2 seasons. If you're not already into it by now you're probably not going to be reading a review of Season 3. So on to the other aspects of this set. The packaging and artwork are right on par with the previous offerings. Which is GREAT! Now I'm not super OCD about my collections. But still, it's nice to look at my shelf and see all my Samurai Jack, Dark Angel, Metalocalypse, etc. etc. all looking similar. It's rather annoying to see Big Bang Theory change the spine after 2 seasons. Or Simpsons making you get a case shaped like someone's head(which has been rectified in reissues, but still at the time of first release there was only one option). Anyhow, it's cool to see consistency on my shelf. The set also comes with similar Special Features: couple of behind the scenes, commentaries, ComicCon stuff, gag reel, and some unaired scenes. Again, all right inline with previous releases and expectations. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars was because as I said earlier, not my favorite season story wise. Hey, they can't all be Zingers!

Here we are with the third season of The Arrow. After I was done with the second season I was really looking forward to the third season. And I wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed it very much, and the new direction that the story took. We got to meet some new characters, and they were very interesting. We also had some crossover episodes with The Flash, which was very nice to see. I actually started watching The Flash before I started watching The Arrow, so it was very good to see how it started. The discs themselves again look beautiful, and sounded wonderful. But I'm here to report that the same problem I had with the other disks happen with the set too. (Please see other reviews). And this is why I only gave it four stars. Either way, I think if you've seen the show you'll love this set. If you've never seen the show I would start with season one and work your way forward, because I think you'll enjoy them, if this is your type of genre. It is mine, and I am looking forward to season four!

    t Superhero without superpower series

Its been long since I dumped the Smallville as it became awful somewhere from season 7 or 8. It had an Oliver Queen too. Now, this guy from"Arrow" as Oliver is aggressive and passionate about what he is doing. The story begins somewhat in a usual manner but then moving with nice pace of twists and revelations. It could be boring if you think too much about it, but for a regular viewer looking for just fresh "superhero without superpower" entertainment, you have a winner here. True, any other character except Oliver is not detailed, they are just out of the box, but the real character is not them, hence its understandable. Acting is a vital point here, Stephen Amell does a real fine job characterizing the Green Arrow. Paul Blackthorne is great as a cop. Other characters such as Colon Donnel, Susana Thompson are doing nice too. Its a nice superhero series, you will love it as I do too. I give it a 9/10 for the nice time pass. Cheers.

Actually, I would give this six stars. Does it knock my socks off, every time? no, nor do I expect something to, but it's most always true to "comic book gone film." It's like reading a comic book, only better, as you see the live actors. I give it the extra star because I have such a good time watching it. It's a show I can discuss with my grandchildren. So this is not like a serious film review, but I am an artist, and do take it seriously, too. It's good clean fun, interesting, just soapy enough, with moral questions to ponder, with surprises, twists and turns. I'm so glad I found this show, worth every penny for my viewing entertainment. It's solid in that it's interesting, well done and the acting is great. The choice of costume, and casting, too. Very wonderful. My favorite type of show.

Arrow Season 3 continues Oliver Queen's story of his past away from home for 5 years and back to current day. After Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke was defeated at a heavy cost to Starling City. Plus his personal trust. Oliver soon learns the peace don't stay long. Ra's al Ghul is coming due to a tragedy. The League is coming. Arrow will make tough decisions that will cause him to make constant tough decisions. I love the progression in Season 3 from season 2. We see Laurel Lance train to become the future Black Canary. More heroes and more enemies. Will Oliver win over his toughest test? Or will he fail himself. and his allies. I recommend this to all DC fans. Come 9/22 This would be a great buy to old and new fans.

I love the show. I have been following the show since the first season currently watching the fourth season, and I am looking forward to a fifth if they decide to continue with the show, which I hope they do. Emily is my favorite character in the show. She is funny, though she is a bit more serious in the season, I still love her character. Laurel is actually beginning to grow on me, I didn't particularly like her in the first season, but once she became the black Canary she has quickly become one of my favorites. With each season, the shows stunts and graphics seem to be getting a lot better. When the ATOM was introduced I was expecting some cheesy or very corny graphics. I was pleasantly surprised when they weren't.

Arrow, I guess the flagship superhero series on CW now, is dark, gloomy, and often irritating. Season 3 is one of my favorites because it introduces Barry Allen and leads into the The Flash. I like the flashback arc in this series mainly because of Rile Fukushima stars is in them. She plays Yukio in The Wolverine so I was happy to see her show up on The Arrow. Her character is also later to be revealed as Katana. Katana is in the Suicide Squad. Sadly, the role is played by someone else in the movie, like the rest of the movies but that's another review. So these are my reasons I like season three enough to buy it, and it had low sale price.

While I've been a devoted fan of Arrow since the beginning of the 2nd season, i have gone back and seen every episode at least 3 times for season 1 and 2. For reasons I wont spoil, this season of Arrow falls a bit short when compared to the first two. Is it terrible? No, but it could have been a thousand times better. If youre the type of fan that enjoys knowing how the shows work, you are aware of how certain plot point and arks were scrubbed due to character embargoes. Luckily the writers have found a way around this junk in the 4th season, so if youre a die hard fan buy this. If not, just watch a few episodes on netflix.
