Quality2 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5My chromebook blinked out and stop working one week after I received it. I don’t know if I was given a refurbished computer or what. But I’m super upset because I purchased this computer to help with my studies and also a new found buisness. I will see the outcome of this purchase once I visit it the geek squad.

Posted .Dear Khadiija,
Usually, the following can be performed if the Chromebook will not power on or boot up suddenly.
Please verify if the AC adapter is properly connected from the Chromebook to a known good, working surge protector or AC outlet. Try to connect it to another known good power source.
If running it with battery only, please make sure the battery has an ample amount of charge.
If this was tried to no avail, please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings.
After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the Chromebook until the battery was charged.
If you need further assistance with ASUS products, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
Regards,
Rodel

Great Value - Charger Redesign Required
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:ValueCons mentioned:BatteryBought this for my Kindergartner's remote learning. This is a great value and works great with one workaround for the freezes while charging. The problem is that the charger that this comes with is too high voltage output. The heat generated must cause the issue. The workaround is to use a lower voltage (5V) charger. I'm using a tablet charger with usb-c adapter (see pic). The advertised 10hr battery time gets cut to 4 hrs if your child is on zoom the whole time. With the low voltage charger you can keep the battery percentage steady throughout the day without freezing. It's disappointing that Asus has not suggested this solution and failed to troubleshoot this issue prior to release. Hope this helps. Absent this issue I have no complaints.

Great computer for someone on a low budget
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is a great computer easy to uses had it set up in no time. All functions of a chrome book worked with no issues. Took a star off for the monitor and camera, other than that everything works. What’s I like: - This computer is easy to install - The performance of the computer is better than I expected, with no lag - Keyboard if elected is good - it is light and can sit on the lap - I was able to run office 365 - All my Bluetooth devices ran well and no issues - I was able to connect to my NAS drive with no issues. - Tested parental controls, they are ok but not the fault of the device but they work as designed with no issues What I don’t like: - The Monitor, it is a Little dull and seems to hurt my eyes after some continual usage. Had to watch out for not looking at the screen from an angle where I noticed more of the dullness. - The camera is a little grainy and seemed to lag a bit, it may be difficult for my son to use for school, we will see day one.

Great for beginners!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is my first Chromebook, so far so good. Coming from a desktop HP PC, it does take some getting used to. I bought this mainly to watch movies and do some browsing on the internet while traveling for work. It's very light weight and fits perfectly in my backpack. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants something very light, easy to use and on a budget!

2nd best Chromebook
Posted .Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I have bought many Chromebooks for business and gifts. So I have some experience. The Worst are Samsung and Dell...cheap keyborads and both had to be returned to factory...Samsung was a real pain. The Best...by far, is Acer. but this Asus is about 75% as good. I use an ACER every day that I bought 6 yrs ago. Still the best

Performs as expected for the price and specs

Quality2 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5It freezes quite often compared to what I’m used to, even with just 2 google tabs open, tho I knew exactly what to expect from a celeron, so I try my best not to overwhelm the processor. I purchased this for my daughter for virtual learning with Schoology, clever and zoom; she’s in the first grade so no heavy usage and it serves its purpose for what we need for now. I had to reset it once by holding the power button and refresh button simultaneously once when it wouldn’t turn back on and it’s been fine ever since. It’s cheaply made (plastic) so I’m so glad I bought the protection plan on it, esp since I have a carefree six year old. Drop it once and you may need another one. She dropped it once when it fell off her desk, but luckily I was able to pop the screen right back in place within seconds. It worked fine, no permanent damage internally or externally so yea. Be careful
