awesome tablet computer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI read a bunch of horrible reviews right after I bought this. I stared at it for a while wondering if I should even open it or just return it. I decided to go ahead and give it a chance, hoping that all the bug/driver problems had been fixed by the time I got mine. I was right. I bought mine mid-late August 2013. I've had it a month now, and I love it. I haven't had any of the issues that everybody else (that bought it 6-12 months earlier) have had. I'll update this if I do. but as of now, I'm in love. it's so awesome being able to detach the keyboard (which I had to buy separately, which was a con, but bearable). this thing comes with a wacom "digitizer" (stylus) which is friggin awesome. with anything touch screen it's a little bit difficult sometimes to do certain things on web pages. like hovering, for instance. you can't hover with your finger. of course when the keyboard is attached it doesn't matter. but when I'm just rockin the touch screen, the stylus is my best friend. plus it's just flat fun to use. drawing with it is great. this thing is QUIET and COOL (in temp). it's incredible. my last computer didn't vent well so it got so hot, too hot to touch, definitely uncomfortably hot on my lap. this thing doesn't need a fan, and hasn't gotten any more than barely luke-warm in about a 3 by 2 inch area on the back. the battery life is amazing. it lasts all day. I haven't had any of the sleep issues as other people... mine properly goes to sleep when I press the on/off button once. it doesn't always remember the keyboard is attached when I wake it up, but that's a quick fix - pop it out and back in. the keyboard acts as a charger for the tablet, which is so cool. I can use the tablet by itself all day, deplete the battery, attach the keyboard for a little bit to send a couple emails or something, all the while instead of just using up that battery second, it charges the tablet. so I can detach them and at that point, and the tablet is back up to 80% with the keyboard battery depleted. very innovative, very convenient. the screen is great. the resolution is plenty good for me. the gorilla glass makes me feel at ease. the speakers could be better. there's a slight con. they're in the back, so they're facing away from you which doesn't help. it's not bad though. I've watched netflix without a problem. just needs to be a semi-quiet room apart from what you're listening to. it comes with a case! a nice leather one at that. it fits the stylus and tablet, but not the keyboard. not a big deal. easy to grab the tab and go. also, it's tiny (in thickness). it barely weighs anything and it's as thin as can be. definitely feels thinner than the surface pro, rivals the iPad, but it's asus! and runs full windows 8! it's amazing. I'm loving windows 8. I've had windows 7 for the last few years. I've played on my boyfriend's Mac plenty. I've heard horror stories about windows 8. apparently nobody seems to like it? well I love it. I think it's great. the tiles are cool, though admittedly I stay on the regular desktop screen most of the time because that's familiar. I'm getting used to the tiles though, and I certainly don't have anything negative to say about them. it was a learning curve, but I'm 22 so I picked it up pretty quick and I quite like it. all in all, I love this thing. I can't really say much negative about it. sometimes it's a little slower than I'd like (which is a stretch of a complaint. it's not bad at all), but I'll take that with the quiet/coolness ANY day. mostly for me, I like to cozy up on the couch and do some online shopping. I like to turn it to portrait style and can pull my knees up in a ball while I do it without messing with a bed of keys or any cords. I'm ecstatic with my purchase.

Flexible full Windows 8 tablet
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI will start off by saying that I replaced my laptop with the Asus Vivotab because I wanted a tablet and I needed it to do everything that a full laptop would. And to my surprise it actually works fantastically as both a tablet and a laptop. I was a little worried about the atom processor when I was shopping around for tablets, and I really wanted the Asus Transformer Book but the release date kept getting pushed back and I got tired of waiting. =Pros= -Build Quality: I first held the Vivotab RT in my local Best Buy and was really impressed by how it felt in hand and by how awesome the screen looked. I had no idea that there was a larger atom based tablet which is almost identical (tf810c). Asus really makes a quality product and it really shows in this tablet. Its super light but has just enough heft to feel like solid machine. There is a carrying case included and even that is high quality, when toting it around in the case it just feels so right! -Battery life: This thing has an advertised 9.5 hours of battery life and I wouldn't doubt it at all. I love not having to worry about charging it or running out, and I have yet to see it fall below 60% at the end of the day. If you get the optional keyboard dock (I will do a review for that too# it adds another 9 hours of battery which is just incredible. -Size and weight: I really like the 11.6 inch screen especially for tablet use. It is also really light but not light enough to feel cheap. -Screen: The screen on this is pretty good for not being 1080p, colors are vibrant and the tough responsiveness is great! -Full Operating system: I love using a tablet with all of the applications from previous windows. I use Rosetta stone and it was mandatory that it would run on whatever I decided to buy. Its pretty cool using the touch screen because it seems like it was made with touch in mind. And being able to look up wiring diagrams for work is equally impressive. -Flexibility with the optional keyboard: I'm typing on this right now and it feels great, being able to dock in for more battery life and full keyboard for typing documents is great. Want to just watch videos or surf the web? Just push down on the release lever on the side and pull up on the top of the tablet while holding the middle of the dock, and you have a super portable tablet. When you have the two together it looks like a high end netbook, and you would never guess that it was a tablet if you didn't know it. Anther plus is when you are hanging out on the couch or laying in bed you can use the dock as a stand and you don't have to hold the tablet. =Cons= -Atom processor: I like the battery life, portability and full OS. But it does lag a little bit when you are multitasking or transferring big files. Its not horrible but you kind of wish you had a little more power at times. Not a deal breaker though. -Price: at $768 plus $160 for the optional keyboard dock, it is pretty pricy for an atom tablet, and you can get an ultrabook for around the same price. But trust me, the ability to have a tablet that can run regular programs is worth it! -Storage space: With only 64gb - OS space and other factory items leaving you round 39gb for your stuff is kind of lame. if you are just using it as a tablet its not bad though. If you are using this as you only device then it gets sparse pretty fast. I bought a 64gb micro sd and that sounds great but your photos and music wont show up on the apps that you want to use them on. -Laptop use: Don't get me wrong, it works AWESOME as a laptop but coming from a 15" laptop it seems kind of small at first. But just rip the screen off and it all makes sense. :Conclusion: If you are looking for a tablet that you can also use as a laptop to get work done or not have to hold it on the couch. This is a great buy! It does cost more than the Samsung or Lenovo tablets with docks but a much higher quality and no disconnects with the dock #Samsung).

exceeded expectations
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendSpent 800.00 on an I-pad 2 years ago thinking it would sub for my laptop on road trips. Apple NEVER followed through and got its mobile platform to work with Micro office, nor did a app that worked for this purpose ever get created. docs to go--waste of money..... now I have a device that does everything that I enjoyed for leisure in my I-pad, and is also a full blown windows pc. the tablet and keyboard are awesome.

Awesome product deserving a lot more publicity!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is an awesome product. I've used it for almost 2 months and I love it. One thing worth noting here: Do the ASUS updates, not just the ones from windows. It solves early release issues 100%. The screen seems very resistant, but still, get some screen protectors to make sure you never scratch the screen, this way, it'll stay nice for ever!

Nice Tablet
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFirst windows tablet for me. Really liked the look of it, screen is sharp with nice colors and the camera is excellent. Little bulk for my taste which was my concern getting a larger tablet but biggest issue is it was freezing on me. Happened a 4-5 times the first 3 weeks and returned it. If not for the freezing I would've kept it
