- A:Answer Don't put that Chromebook in the trash. You or someone else can install a Linux operating system, such as Linux Mint, and have a perfectly usable computer again. There are videos online that instruct how to install over Chromebook. Donate or sell it to someone else if you don't want to tackle it yourself. Hope the suggestion inspires you.
