Now that Comcast instituted a Bandwidth cap of 1 Terabyte per month and I finally went over the limit I wanted a router that could keep track of data usage. For the record the Comcast cap is pretty high for now and not easy to exceed. But with technology changing, such as 4k tv and video games its getting easier. We have had the cap since last spring and in over half a year we only went over once but it will be more common as time goes by. Comcast says only 1% of user will go over. Thats true for now but it won't be very soon. As one hour of 4k viewing can use 7 or 8 GB per hour. if you watched 5 hours of 4k per day that would be 1240 in 31 days. That doesn't account for anything else, such as downloading or playing games online, VIOP phones, cell phones multiple family members watching something different in there rooms. The list goes on and on. A download of a PS4 game can be 100gb in 1080p. that 1/10th of your monthly allowance. Anyway about the router. It works great, Better than the 299.00 linksys that was 3 months old I was using. It actually did more in terms of bandwidth monitoring than my research said it did. you can see how much data you use in a day, a week, a month, you can look at any day or group of days with the click of a button and see how much data you used and more importantly who used on which device. this router can identify what device is using the data and what they were doing within limits, such as how much went to Netflix, HULU or web browsing. Now your family will have some less privacy but I found this necessary to find out where all our DATA was being used. Just let everyone know you can see what there doing to be fair. Then after I found out 4K was the problem I set each tv to cap out at 5 GB per hour which is 1080 HD quality, We don't need 4k quality if its going to put us over, 1080 is good enough. But we do pay for the 4k plan on netflix to get the 4 screens same time. on netflix you can only set it so you get hd and 4k or not. you can not turn of 4k only. We wanted more than standard def but not 4k. This router has proved invaluable. Once you know how to use the features its flawless. I would be happy to give information on setup and use to anyone who needs it.

This unit is in a bedroom on the far side of a 2100 sq ft home and I get an excellent signal everywhere in the home on every device (Roku, Fire stick, cell phones, tablet, computer, wireless printer). The signal on the opposite side of the house in the garage with the door closed to the house is even excellent! I have the closer devices on 5G and the farther ones on 2G to ease congestion. This was a wise purchase, you get what you pay for. I love the dashboard where you can control this ASUS device settings and configuration from the Internet. The setup was super easy, I had no problems.

The performance of this router is so amazing. I fell in love with on how the Cloud Storage is. Helped my gaming on Xbox and PCs in a HUGE way! Well worth the price. Better than Netgears Nighthawk, and Linksys' Max Stream in my opinion!
