Gaming Tablet… Oh so close…
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I really had high hopes for this one. It’s a form factor I’ve been searching for for a LONG time. It’s a well made machine for what it is. But for the price, you can get a better laptop. But if you really like the Tablet form factor it’s the best you’re gonna get. This thing as a top spec processor but the underpowered RTX 3050Ti. It ran older games just fine but the power and cooling is shared between both CPU and GPU, so they’re both underpowered on more intensive tasks. Also understand that if you’re doing this, the metal chassis will get VERY hot. Asus does offer a mobile 3080 GPU that wil free up the CPU and provide a performance boost. The problem is price. At $1500 for this mobile GPU dock (that needs to be separately powered), you’re entering high spec PC build price territory. The biggest gripe is battery life. I was able to get about 40 minutes while gaming and not much better (55 minutes) streaming videos on the web. You will need to keep the power cable nearby. That was my breaking point. I had my iPad doing the same exact task (streaming video on chrome) and while my iPad was chugging along no issues, the Z13 was on 5 percent. If the battery is that bad for a minor task like video streaming, I might as well get a desktop because I would be tether to a power cord either way. I love the attempt because I love the idea of a powerful Gaming Tablet, but honestly with the terrible battery life I might as well spend the money for a better spec gaming laptop, or a Desktop. I had to return it and begin my search again. Will be missed and hopefully the next generation will have more power or lower price point.

Great tablet/laptop for gaming and anything else
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Works as intended. Battery time is about 2 hours and 40 minutes fully changed on medium settings. In performance mode it will give you much less time. However the processor is fast, the tablet performs great when connected to a socket which makes it a great portable option for business travels. It's also great if you want to play games while on the go. The design makes it have breathing space since all the hardware is behind the screen while in laptop mode. All in all I am happy with the purchase. I just hope batteries make a breakthrough in the next 10 years so we can have a more powerful and longer lasting battery. I recommend buying a Usb/ethernet/hdmi/dp port hub and this is basically a portable desktop. And if you can afford it then get an external gpu and you can upgrade the graphics output as long as its something better than a 3050ti.

Tablet Tank for games and some productivity.
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I owned this device for roughly a week and a half. I am a power user that plays video games, works from home and make a significant chunk of income as a professional musician. This device was so close. I wanted it to replace my iPad and I really enjoyed it for the week I had it, but I ultimately had to return it for 3 major reasons. Thank you Asus for glidex. It's bomb. --------------- The first reason is this thing is always somewhat warm. It's unsettling when you walk away from a device and it has heat radiating off of it. (Its brother, the x13 doesn't have this problem) Second major reason is the aspect ratio. The reason the iPad is the best tablet on the market is that its touch experience is amazing, but apple knew that a tablet is only good for document reading when it has a 4:3 aspect ratio. The z13 is a 16:10 aspect ratio. Though it's better than 16:9, this really gimps the device for documents, and in my case sheet music. Microsoft knew this with the surface pro (4:3) and it's the best laptop/tablet hybrid on the market. The third major reason is see-through light in the back not being flush with the device. Outside of it being very gamery, the fact that the device doesn't lay flat, and it's as heavy as it is, does not bode well for the longevity of the device. I felt like that little window was going to break at any second. It will absolutely get scratched at some point. If it's going to be a tablet form factor it has to function well as a tablet. This thing crushed games. I was really impressed and having a keyboard that doesn't get hot is an added bonus. This would have been even better if the keyboard had even a little bit of wireless capability. It even performed slightly better than my old Alienware laptop with a 1070. Great for games, not so great for productivity. The x13 is superior in this size. Make this thing 14 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a flat back. I'm actually surprised they made the tablet gamery and laptop business professional. The battery life needs an improvement too. I didn't get to test any thunderbolt capabilities or the xg mobile. However, that doesn't take away from the fact it's a sub optimal tablet.

Powerful for a tablet, but still not perfect.
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. So let me start by saying I love this device. I've been thinking about getting a surface pro 8 for a long time and this just does so much more as someone that wanted to do light gaming on the go. That being said this device has a few draw backs that definitely something Asus needs to address if they make a V.2. Firstly the 100w charger is not enough to keep this thing charged while gaming. I've been losing about 10% per hour while gaming. So Asus needs to not try and focus on small and compact and give us a larger charger. Dell has a 130w usb-c charger so there is no excuse for Asus to not have one for this device. That being said this thing is actually pretty powerful. I can run Elden Ring at the full 1920x1200 resolution on high and get around 50fps. And I can get pretty much locked 60fps playing Monster Hunter World with the same settings. So you can play some demanding titles on this with good results. Just don't expect to get 120fps unless you turn the settings way down. I do have the XG Mobile 3080 on the way and I hope it addresses my issue with the battery drain while gaming and lets me play much closer to 100fps in my games. But, as it stands this is the most powerful tablet you can get. So if you have been waiting for something like this then you really should get one.

Very solid all around multi-use tablet.
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I was originally looking at the Surface Pro 8, but I stumbled upon a post mentioning this tablet and I was immediately interested to say the least. I work primarily in game design and needed something with dedicated graphics and a good processor for programming / real-time rendering and this hit the nail on the head. I could hade opted for a gaming laptop, but I wanted something portable with a touch screen for the occasional graphic design / sculpting I do as a hobbyist. Pros: - Great form factor - Build is really high quality - Cooling is decent* - Sound is great - Keyboard is really solid feeling *I have had the GPU driver crash a couple of times due to overheating under extreme tasks. Cons: - Speakers are in an awkward spot when using in tablet mode - There is a real lack of ports (2 USB-C, 1 USB) - Shared wattage on the GPU and CPU - Medium to low Battery life under normal workload Overall I am really impressed with this tablet and would recommend it for anyone interested.

Portable Powerhouse To Game on the Plane With!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Bought this tablet to replace an older GPD Win Max unit that was not keeping up with the on the go gaming I was doing. I had paired this little rig with a GTX1070 Gigabyte Game Box. Previous to this I had a Blade 14 with a GTX 1060. I spent some time playing with this laptop over the week before my trip, and it was a joy to have the tablet out on the coffee table in the living room with a controller playing games while my wife and I watched Netflix. In addition to that, I hooked the tablet up to the TV for some living room couch gaming sessions, which this device was more than capable of. I pretty much played Rocket League at highest settings 1080p 120FPS locked. I also tried other things out. Playing Forza Horizon 5 on high settings yielded 70 FPS, however if you bump some of the RT settings down you can see around 80-90 FPS. Not too shabby! Where this device really shined was portability on the airplane. I purchased an external PD battery pack capable of delivering 60 watts of charge and was able to extend the battery back by around 1.5-2 hours depending on game settings. In addition to this, I found that when gaming on a plane, if you use a 60 watt PD charger that was not the Asus supplied one, you could game on the laptop using the Silent profile, still continuously charge slowly, and not trip the breaker on the plane's AC outlet! Pretty awesome for long trips! Using this method I played a lot of Forza Horizon 5 (around 70fps on the silent profile) and Elden Ring on all low settings at 800p (around 50 fps on the silent profile). Anyone who has tried to take a gaming laptop on a plane to plug into the outlet, knows the struggle of the outlet not having enough juice to power a 300 watt power supply. Other things I tested was using this to play Overwatch (over 200+ fps on low settings), and Valheim (about 70 fps on medium settings with most options turned off). Yes this tablet isn't as fast as other 3050ti laptops with a bigger form factor, but that isn't the reason you buy this tablet. You buy it for the portability, and the really quiet cooling system. These fans, even on the highest setting (Turbo) are really quiet compared to other gaming laptops. If you have the speakers at around 30% they are completely inaudible. The screen is pretty bright as well, no problems using this tablet in direct sunlight. This tablet is quiet, feels like machine with power somewhere between a PS4 and PS5 and a screen on it.

Asked by Andres.
- A:Answer It is already available for over $3,000. I wouldn't recommend it because the pixel density of the screen doesn't scale properly to 4k, plus, it is only 60hz. You will not notice a difference with such a small screen size. Stick to the regular one that comes with 120hz.
