Q: Is this the Z590 or Z490? The description doesn't say. (5 answers)
A: This is the Z590 model. Asus defines the Z model based on their Hero models; Z390 goes with Hero Xl, Z490 with Hero Xll and Z590 Hero Xlll. In this case Hero is the name Asus use to identify their Z series motherboards but they also have other models of the Z590 like their Prime motherboards.Q: Will this work with a intel i9 9900k processor and 2080 super? (3 answers)
A: Hello Brido. No, unfortunately, the ROG MAXIMUS X111 HERO motherboard is not listed as a compatible motherboard for the Intel® Core™ i9-9900K processor. You can view the compatible boards at the following link: https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Desktop%20Processors&pcsr_num=i9-9900K Thank you for choosing Intel.Q: How many SATA ports on this motherboard? (3 answers)
A: It has 6 Sata ports and they face off to the right on the board instead of straight out.- A: Seeing is it supports both the 10th and 11th gen cpus, it may need a bios update to see the 11th gen CPU’s.
- A: Tough to get an answer for a very specific congifuration. However, I have a Noctua U14S cooler with 2x32gb g. skil rgb ram (using the slots prescribed in the manual). I could not have gotten the same ram in all 4 slots with this cooler. Have no idea how much clearance you need for the corsair heatsink. I have found this board to be an excellent performer so far, but it will try your patience with one issue after another. In the race to cover every square inch with heatsinks or shrouds, ASUS has left little room to manuever when it comes to adding cards, ram, etc. good luck and sorry I couldn't give a specific answer.
Q: Is there enough gap to support two 3090s with a 4-slot NVLink? (2 answers)
A: I believe this will work. I'm using two Quadro RTX 5000's with four slot the NVLink bridge.- A: If you mean an i9-12900k, no it will not. That chip uses a LGA 1700 socket. I could not find a i9-2900k at the intel website. It will support thew graphics card.
