Excellent laptop - the touchpad is bad for thumbs.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not bad but here's a pro con list for easier reading: Pros: -Big screen with small bezels -Flashy keyboard with unintrusive RGB (lights will not distract you by shining on the lower bezel like some other brands) -USB-C charging is an option! but it comes with a barrel style connector by default -Full size keyboard! has the numpad if you also work. -Comes with a 3 month gamepass trial - some good games to try out your new hardware with. -RAM is NOT soldered on, both slots are upgradeable - but only 32gb max. Doesn't matter really unless you get the 12gb vram model and really wanna min/max this thing -Two NVME slots! They didn't pull that trick where one has the wifi card! Space for more storage! -Excellent cooling system. No need for a cooling pad, just use on a sturdy, flat surface or raise up with a cooling pad anyway. CONS. -Battery doesn't last long for gaming (as is expected, but listing it anyway) -No fingerprint or camera login option -MUX switch can be buggy! Several instances of the screen switching on and off, going to the desktop with the game sounds in the background. -Windows 11... (ok ok it's a personal con) -Trackpad will not recognize skinny thumbs! (might return for this, I'm a thumb user) -Fingerprint and smudge magnet. -Armoury Crate software takes FOREVER to install!(controls fan speed, MUX, RGB lighting, Macros) Essential software and it isn't fully installed making you download it despite having an icon... could be because of some law -Lack of media keys (play/pause/next/previous, can be changed via software but not as intuitive) -Camera is fuzzy. -Plastic exterior construction (always a con on a high priced laptop...) -Only two USB-A ports and they're on the right side. Left handed users this is a pro. For me, I'm constantly hitting my headset's USB dongle... invest in a USB-C dongle that has A ports, those are on the left. -Slight light bleed on the screen corners (to be expected on IPS but this is a huge problem for some users) The trackpad is my main problem, I understand that gaming laptop users will have an external mouse, but for two grand EVERYTHING needs to work.

Great production system, plus more
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop for productivity, not gaming (sorry kids!) and well worth the investment. Screen alone was worth the money. Big, clear (2560x1600 QHD), and bright. Lots of room for multiple windows so I'm more productive (probably 15% to 20% more productive than using my previous 17.3" FHD laptop). And if you were wondering, it's fast. The i9 jumps in and out of applications in a blink and can multitask several apps without breaking a sweat. In spite of the size and speed the battery holds up well on the road, probably a good 2+ hours in full use. And that's just using standard power management options, ASUS has several manual settings if you really want to maximize it. Plus you can slow charge off the USB port if an outlet is not available (like in a car or plane). Also the ASUS Armory software is actually quite useful for monitoring and managing the system. Including tweaking processor cores, GPUs, fans, etc. Even the numerous lighting effects are fun. I thought they would get old after a while, but they are still cool.

My laptop review.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is great! It ran well and performed great! Very clean and came in good packaging. The only thing I was disappointed in was that on the website, this laptop is advertised to have a 12GB of VRAM option. As well as a CPU base clock speed of 5.6HZ. I selected the 12GB VRAM option for the GPU, but when the laptop arrived, it only had 8GB of VRAM and a base CPU clock speed of 2.4HZ. I checked multiple options to look at the specs. But they all confirmed I had the wrong specs then what I selected on the website. Perhaps I was sent the wrong laptop, but I believe that the RTX 4070 (the gpu for that laptop) is not made with a 12GB VRAM option. So I think that it could be false advertising. But either way I had to go return it for a different laptop. I ordered the new laptop on December 10th and it was suppose to arrive on December 13th. It’s Christmas Eve right now and haven’t gotten it yet. Nobody can help me change the delivery address and it’s been such a bad experience. The laptop itself though I think is good, if I can get the correct one and if it ever arrives.
