Get this on a deal - Spectacular Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive gone through literally a ton of laptops and what’s interesting enough is I ended up going right back to this 2021 model. From ROG G14/15/M16/Strix, Lenovo, Dell/Alienware, HP, MSI, Acer, Gigabyte, and Razer. I’ve literally tried everything Windows with BestBuy and forgive me for the amount of returns BestBuy helped me with from just finding the one. This is quite literally the best all around amazing battery life (for a windows laptop), amazing speakers for a 14 inch laptop, beautiful display (low nit brightness), great keyboard, usb-c charging, great portability, and the list just goes on. That being said, do not think it will be simple picking one up and calling it a day. Ive gone through literally several of them that either had a distorted speaker or backlight bleed. I finally hit a lotto winner with my most recent purchase and have 0 issues with my unit. There are of course cons about this model compared to the 2022/23 models. No camera and no sd/microsd slot. If you can live with that, this laptop is simply amazing. This also only carries 1 nvme ssd slot. I purchased a 2tb ssd and it works beautifully. I highly recommend that you disable turbo boost if youre not a serious gamer. Simply google “how to disable turbo boost on g14” there are videos everywhere on how to do it. It may seem complex but its actually very easy. Best of luck!

A Great Option - With Flaws
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to start off this review by noting that I got this laptop for a GREAT deal. $750 for Geek Squad Certified open-box. For that price, it was obvious to me this was my choice. Before I talk about the laptop: How was the open-box experience? Just about as good as new! Only 2 things to note here: 1. The box had Best Buy's tape all over it which made it look kind of silly. Not a problem for most people, but I appreciate the unboxing experience so I figured I'd note it. And 2: It may just be a problem with my machine, but I couldn't even create an Asus account successfully to register the device. It was open box, so the original purchaser probably already did anyways. And also it's useless to do so on an Asus laptop from BestBuy because they just shove the warranty over to Geek Squad. This machine is amazing. The Ryzen processor means that I get both great performance and great battery life out of this machine. The 3060 is good enough for intermittent gaming and occasional light RTX games like Minecraft. The screen bezel is a little big, but manageable. The design is GORGEOUS, with a bit of a gamer edge in smaller details. And the repairability of this machine is really good. There were about 14 screws on the bottom I had to remove to open it up, but after that, it was a dead-simple process to explore the inside. I added more RAM and could've added another or replaced the current SSD. The fact that half of the RAM is soldered to the board is a bad move, but all things considered, I'm not too mad. Honestly, if you need a small, very portable machine with some good power, this is a great option. This is a machine that's great for blooming content creators, casual-but-invested gamers, or just general laptop users who want some really good future-proofing. But, this thing definitely isn't perfect. In no particular order, here are the cons of this machine that made me take away a star: - Thick screen bezel - Micro instead of full-sized SD card slot - Half of the RAM is soldered - Asus warranty for Best Buy products is convoluted - Only 512 GB for a $1000+ laptop - No webcam The two main flaws of this machine that made me take away a star are the fact that there is no webcam and a micro-sd card instead of a full-sized one. The SD card slot is somewhat forgivable due to the size of the device, but the webcam simply is not. This came out in the heat of the pandemic when webcams were a necessity for distance working and learning. And even as we reach the end of that whole experience, it only becomes even more obvious how terrible of a choice that was. I mean, you have a 1"+ bezel on the bottom of the screen Asus, could you not just move the screen down a little for a 720p webcam? With everything in mind, this is a great machine. It's not perfect. But especially for the price I got it, it's close enough for what I need. A great option for a 14-inch powerhouse with great battery life and forgivable compromises.

Good Gaming Laptop for the budget!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this Laptop very much. although I really wish this had a RGB Keyboard instead of the flushed out white keyboard, but you get what you pay for. but that doesn't mean this laptop is bad. NO.. but this laptop is a beast and worth every penny!!! It can run Discord if you are a big Discord user while playing games in the background. the games that I tested on this laptop was Uno, GTA 4, Halo master chief collection and Apex Legends and all of them run buttery smooth without issues, and the games came from Steam, another thing to take note is it doesn't have a webcam if you want to make video calls, but it really serves no purpose of having one if you are just interested in gaming, I like this laptop so far and right now i got a awesome deal on it, very happy with the purchase I made, That's why I like Best buys customer service, if you are interested in this laptop. don't hesitate to check this one out, 5 stars for me!!

PC has served me well.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Context: I bought this PC in 2022 when it was about a year old. This PC has allowed me to play most games with at least 60 frames per second with 1080p resolution. This line of laptops is the perfect balance of portability and gaming power. Although this model is old, the newest zephryus’ are easy recommendation for anybody looking to get a laptop that can allow them to game capably and use it for normal things as well.

The Little Beast
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been absolutely blown away by the ASUS Zephyrus G14, and I can't help but give it a solid five-star rating. Here's why this laptop has left me so impressed: It's a Performance Beast: This laptop doesn't mess around. The AMD Ryzen 9 processor and NVIDIA RTX 3060GPU work together like a dream. Whether I'm diving into intense gaming, editing videos, or juggling multiple tasks, it handles everything with ease. No more frustrating lag or slowdowns. A Real Looker: The design of the Zephyrus G14 is simply stunning. It's sleek, elegant, and surprisingly light for its power. I love how easy it is to carry around. Gorgeous Display: The FHD display is a visual treat. The colors pop 100%sRBG, and the high resolution makes everything look incredible. Plus, that 144Hz refresh rate ensures that games and videos are super smooth. It's like having a mini theater right in my lap. Keeps Going and Going: The battery life is a pleasant surprise. Considering the power under the hood, I expected it to drain quickly, but it easily lasts me a full workday or lets me enjoy hours of gaming without constantly searching for an outlet. Typing Bliss: The keyboard is a joy to use. The keys feel comfortable and responsive, making long typing sessions a breeze. And the trackpad is precise, which is great when I'm not using a mouse for gaming. To sum it up, the ASUS Zephyrus G14 is a true all-rounder. It's a versatile powerhouse that excels in every department. While it's not the cheapest laptop out there, the performance and build quality justify the price tag. If you're on the hunt for a top-notch laptop that can handle gaming and work like a champ, this is the one. Five stars all the way!

Almost there !
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - speed and specs are great for the price, asthetics, keyboard, sound, size and weight, portability, upgradeability (SSD, RAM and Wifi card), cooling. Cons - constant wifi drops and high ping when playing online (mediatek wifi card - no driver update will fix issues - will highly recomend to an intel based card), backlit keyboard will not stay off, ports placement, lack of ethernet port, wobbly screen, image quality not the greatest, screen brightness could be better

Q: QuestionIs there a way to install more storage other than an external drive?

- A:Answer For disk storage, no, need to either replace stock SSD with a larger one (see Geek Squad) or else plug in a USB-based hard drive or SSD drive, or maybe even an Ethernet-based NAS.

Q: QuestionIs it 999 dollars for 16 gb ram?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer In a word, yes. In more words ... The good news is you get 16 GB RAM, and it's dual channel so you get whatever speed advantage comes with dual channel. Also, counter to one commenter who lamented that it did not come with DDR5 but rather DDR4, I claim no bid deal, the speed advantage of DDR5 is overrated, and in any event, when this laptop was designed DDR5 was hard to find and virtually no designs from that era had DDR5, they were all DDR4 (or DDR3 in rare older cases). The bad news is that 8 GB is soldered in and 8 GB is in the single RAM slot. If you're happy with 16, no biggie. If you swap out the 8 GB SODIMM for a 16GB you get 24 GB but now channel-size is a mismatch so you lose dual-channel advantage, I believe. Same way if you swap 8 GB for a 32 GB, which may be possible in this model, not sure, I know it's possible in the newer 2022 models.

Q: QuestionDoes this model come with the AniMe Matrix?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No. You can tell the AniMe Matrix models by the fact that they have a list price of about $2500 in spite of the fact that they don't have the top-end 3080 graphics card. AniMe is not cheap. Also, Best Buy sometimes crosses wires, and gets answers to questions on one sub-model confused over to the set of answers to questions on some other sub-model. Best Buy doesn't understand the principle: new model, new questions (although some questions might remain the same, the answers might change, lol). So it's entirely possible this answer might be wrong, if it gets transfered over to some new sub-model that does have AniMe. But you should tell by the price in any event.

Q: QuestionDoes it come with mouse and webcam?

- A:Answer It comes with a touchpad, but so does 99.99% of all laptops sold today come with. And it doesn't have a webcam.

Q: QuestionIs this laptop the ROG Zephyrus G14 or something else and does this laptop overheat?
Asked by Infernape75.
- A:Answer Also, it comes with a ROG control app that lets you set one of several profiles for heat and fan control. If you like to reduce fan noise and/or make it run cooler during high loads, you can pick a profile for that. If you're trying to set a world record benchmark, you can pick a profile for that. Similarly if you're on battery and want to stretch battery life to the max.

Q: QuestionIf I wanted to use this for school as well (just chrome) would I be able to get through the whole day, around 8 hours, with a bit of power to spare?
Asked by Jack.
- A:Answer People report around 10 hours of video playback, it's definitely possible to get 8 hours of school use. You might need to turn on hybrid/eco mode though.
