A great laptop.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I sometimes marvel at how they were able to pack so much performance in such a slim chassis. Yes, you can find more power in a laptop with a bulkier and heavier chassis, but the trade off is obviously the size and weight and these bigger laptops trend to garish when sometimes you want something more subtle that doesn’t scream to everyone around you that you’re a gAmEr when you whip it out. The moonlight white finish is beautiful. Very few gaming laptops come in white, period, so it really stands out but it’s subtle and classy at the same time. This is the opposite of edge lord black with RGB flashing from every nook and cranny and massive logos everywhere. It’s understated but I like that. A lot. The finish being matte lends a premium feel, and while the eclipse grey model shows fingerprints like crazy, the paint being white and matte means you never see any on this one. The 165hz QHD screen is brilliant. No ghosting, very fast response times, colors are accurate and extremely vibrant. I’ve never seen reds that are so deep and red like on this screen. I have read that some people have backlight bleeding issues, but this is common to LCD screens anywhere and is just a quirk of the tech. For what it’s worth mine has very, very minimal bleed that is almost nonexistent and no dead pixels either. Overall I have no complaints and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I haven’t had any crashes, BSOD, no problems at all really. The performance matches the specs and the 3080 has handled every game I’ve thrown at it with ease. I feel like with the G15, the slim chassis gaming laptop segment has been taken to its limit by ASUS. I really don’t think anyone else can put in much more performance in a laptop this thin without it melting into a puddle.

Impressive bit of kit.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Handles everything i throw at it with grace (mainly games) while still feeling more like an ultrabook than a gaming laptop. When not gaming, i can get upwards of 8hrs battery life on it.

Great , but not quite perfect.
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Let me preface this review by stating that I have owned both the 3070 model and the 3080 model for approximately two weeks now. Both are excellent computers, but I've decided to return the 3070 model and keep the 3080 model, quite honestly because I love the look of the white chassis a bit more than I do the grey model, and because I wanted the extra dual channel ram for future proofing. For practical purposes, I would say the grey model is way more bang for your buck (as everyone seems to be saying), and for non- gaming operation, they are both incredibly fast and snappy. This white model is basically just a non-practical luxury, but one that I don't regret. I know that it will take almost anything I throw at it with grace, it is incredibly light, and the battery and screen are incredible. Cons: Although I love this computer, it's not without it's faults. There seems to be some quality control issues with these models. - The white model that I received experiences creaking when I lift or place my palms on it for typing, this was not present in the grey model. - Both models experienced backlight issues at different areas of the screen. This suggests that more likely than not, yours will too. - The white model's screen has a small fleck of dust that is stuck between the panel and the actual monitor. - Lastly, and the main reason why I deducted the one star for this review, is due to these annoying little things built into the Armoury Create software that can really affect the user experience and make you think you have a faulty model. The most annoying one being the start up sound setting. If you disable this setting, the speakers will sound like absolute muffled garbage. It lead me to update the audio drivers ,bios, update windows 10, reset the computer to factory, and many other things, all in order to try and resolve the issue. Ultimately I discovered that the start up sound HAS to be enabled, or else your speakers are essentially useless. Another, lesser annoying thing, is the default keyboard lighting settings. When the computer goes to sleep, it will intermittently flash like it's having a stroke. I bet that whomever came up with this idea thought it looked great, but in reality it looks like the computer's lighting faulty and about to die any minute. Something else to note in regards to keyboard lighting. For some reason they decided that only the grey model can have different colored lighting. The white model will only allow static white, while, while the grey model offers not only different colors, but also different effects. This is one of the benefits of having the less expensive model. Overall: Great but over-priced computer. Very fast, gorgeous looks, great battery, great screen, little annoying qc issues, very annoying but easily resolved default software settings. No regrets.

Solid machine but overpriced.
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Summary: Solid portable gaming laptop, but overpriced when considering you could get all the same specs minus 16gig of RAM for about $500 less. If you are just gaming, get the cheaper model (3070 or $1999 3080). If you need 32 gigs of ram I hope you like white. Pros: -Power efficient R9 5900 cpu -Top end Power efficient GPU (80–100 watt) (this could be con depending on your perspective but I value the increased battery life/thermals) -Beautiful 165hrtz 1440p screen -Perfect middle ground of portability vs screen size (g14 is better portable but screen is just a tad too small for gaming in my opinion) -great quality build (I have tested 3 of the 3070 versions and found this one to feel more sturdy but could be coincidental) Cons: -overpriced considering the specs you get compared to other asus products (my understanding is it is actually the white paint job that caused this) -only 8 gigs of vram (an issue if considering deep learning) -not as smooth a set up experience as my g14 was (this could be personal coincidence and has mostly been firmware/software issues that I have been able to work out) -optimus does some weird things with the GPU watts. I personally haven’t figured out how it decides on how much power it gives. Day I opened it I often got under 80 watts and nearly boxed it back up then and there. By that night I was getting consistently 80-95 watts which made a huge difference to the performance. Still a large power difference considering i have no idea how it is picking. I went through a similar issue with one of the 3070s which is why I didn’t return right away. Benchmarks (built in monitor @1440p max settings (80-95 watts) Turbo mode preset): RDR2: 54 FPS (3070 got 40) SotTR: RTX shadows + DLSS: 61 (3070: 51) AC odyssey: 53 (3070: 44) Doom Eternal: 130 (3070: 120) Deep learning: A simple CNN with 10 epochs with batch size 10 and 25000 cats vs dogs: 6.92 minutes (3070: 7.43 minutes). (Note: i did this test multiple times and found the results vary but typically the 3080 beat the 3070).

Absolute quality
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Packed with cutting edge hardware, and loaded with absolutely zero bloatware. I honestly believe the value of the zephyrus series completely removes competitors from the equation. You literally get everything, top notch cpu and gpu, double the industry standard RAM, and an incredibly slim form factor, not to mention the sick white paint job. I had purchased a 2nd 1TB samsung 980 ssd to pair with the included ssd, which is super convenient having that option as a lot of other models and manufacturers remove the capability to internally expand storage in order to save space. I wasn't sure if the screen was pantone validated for color and accuracy, but upon receiving the laptop, learned that it is indeed calibrated and validated. I have 0 complaints, and can confirm that the dollar to product quality ratio is absolutely the best possible value on the market. 100% would recommend!!!

Amazing version of a great laptop
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I absolutely love this machine. It is everything I wanted after using the G14 last year (my favorite laptop from 2020); slightly larger and much more powerful. I'm pleased to report that this laptop meets everything I had hoped it would be. Pros: -The 1440p screen is amazing, and has very low input delay with no ghosting -The 5900HS and 3080 are much more powerful than what was in last year's G14 -The white finish is absolutely amazing. It is on the inside as well as the outside, unlike the G14 -The build quality on my machine is excellent, although I've heard this can be hit and miss. No creaks. -If you do some VERY simple tweaking, the temps are excellent! I average 78C on CPU and 70C on GPU while playing Warzone at 1440p 125FPS avg. (External monitor) Cons: -The most obvious one: This model is expensive. For most people (especially gamers), it would make a lot more sense to go with the $1999 grey 3080 version (or the $1849 3070 version, but in my mind the extra $150 is worth it for the 3080). The extra $500 only gets you the white finish and 32GB of RAM but note -- because one stick of RAM is soldered, this is currently the only way to get dual channel 32GB RAM for the G15 (in the US). -The 3080 in this model is only 80-100W. Many 3070s will beat this. You want this computer if the size and weight are important to you; amazing for travel. You don't want this if you are looking for the most powerful machine. 100W is the max they could push in this chassis currently, but as previously mentioned, it runs very cool (unlike some early reviewers seemed to claim. Maybe an update fixed it?) -No MUX switch. What this basically means is that your FPS on the laptop screen itself will be lower than if you play externally on a monitor using the USB-C display port. Most non-Asus machines this year have a MUX switch; again, if max performance is important to you and the size/weight aren't, look somewhere else. Overall, this is close to a perfect machine for me. I REALLY wanted a white laptop in this size and spec, and the look and finish of this machine are incredible. Unless you really wanted a high spec white laptop and the RAM is super important, go for the $1999 spec.

A great laptop, with a few caveats!
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Love this laptop, but docking 1 star for a few reasons. 1. No webcam. Honestly a must in the current world conditions, but if you're really pressed for one, get an external one. 2. Heat. The laptop gets unreasonably hot in some areas out of the box, particularly in the spot right near the indicator lights. I physically could not leave my hand there while the laptop is running at full load, or it burns. Internal temperatures seem fine when monitored- in the 80s - 90s Celsius range, which was not far from my old laptop, but the chassis itself gets really hot for some reason. 3. Price. 2199 would've been far more reasonable for this laptop IMO, but unfortunately in the current market, some people have to take what they can get. I know some people complain that this laptop is underpowered since it only has an 80-100W RTX 3080, but that personally does not bother me. The laptop is meant to be portable. It is light, sturdy, and surprisingly quiet, especially if you disable CPU boost (which most people do not need). Overall, solid product, with some minor downsides, but no laptop is perfect!

Overwhelming, surprising performance
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I'm absolutely mind blown at the performance of this laptop. I can run "Rust" on 90+ fps with ultra (absolute max) settings at 1440p. "Escape from Tarkov" on ultra settings (absolute max) on 60-70 fps, with 1440p. I wasn't able to find any reviews describing its performance with graphically intensive games prior to buying it; I honestly didn't have high hopes given its a laptop gpu. Furthermore, the benchmarks associated with this pc's parts do not tell the story- My previous desktop had a 2060 super which supposedly benchmarks right next to the 3080 laptop GPU. However, I'm able to pull off 3x the frame rate at ultra settings with just about any game on this thing. ASUS has optimized this thing to really pack the 3080's potential. Furthermore, the CPU, SSD, and 32gb RAM brings an incredibly fast experience for pretty much anything you want to use it for. If you lead a nomadic lifestyle like me, this laptop is incredibly satisfying to own, given its sleek and lightweight design. The keyboard illumination at night is the cherry on top of the design. It does get moderately hot, but not to the point where it would cause any issues (especially if you're not overclocking anything, as I have not). I personally got a laptop cooling pad to treat it with extra care. Lastly, I'm not one to ever write reviews, but I love this thing so much that I'm here to tell you it's a GREAT buy if you're comfortable spending $2500.

Q: QuestionHow do I make sure I get one of these as soon as they are in stock?
Asked by paldubee.
- A:Answer I spoke with customer service to ask for a release estimate or for an arrival email and they told me they had no dates because there were no dates from the manufacturer,.... and to "just keep checking!"
Answered by Cthylla
Q: QuestionI have seen there is an Eclipse Gray version of this laptop that will come out. It has pretty much the same specifications and the same design, just a different color. Why is the price so different from the two?
Asked by Lap7443.
- A:Answer This version has an RTX3080 and 32GB RAM, the other one has an RTX3070 and 16GB RAM. The RAM makes a big difference, since half of it comes soldered, meaning they can charge more for the upgrade to 32GB. The white finish is also more expensive.

Q: QuestionDoes this have the option to add a 2nd SSD? Is there a slot available for an another one?
Asked by Markus.
- A:Answer Yes. From what I have read and seen on Youtube reviews, there is a second, empty slot for an NVME SSD.

Q: QuestionHello there. I've seen the backlit keyboard of the 3070 version of this laptop change colors. Is this 3080 model stuck being white or can it change? God bless you Jesus loves you!
Asked by Gabriel.
- A:Answer Every review of the white 3080 I've seen stated the backlight was white only. That said Asus has produced so many almost identical models of this laptop that until the best buy version is in someone's hands we won't know for sure.

Q: QuestionDoes this have an HDMI 2.1 output?
Asked by nuke235.
- A:Answer HDMI 2.0 but for high frequency output the USB-C port is intended to be used, with either a USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI 2.1 adapter/cable.
Answered by John
Q: QuestionWhat is the refresh rate of the display ?
Asked by Shadow.
- A:Answer 165hz across the whole G15 2021 line.

Q: QuestionKnowing that it is a gamer oriented pc, what do you think of the screen for graphic design (Color grading, Lightroom, Indesign). Are the colors faithful? Is there any color dominance in the grays or any other problem at this level?
Asked by Benny.
- A:Answer Seems pretty alright to me. It has a 100% DCI P3 coverage and uses a Innolux N156KME-GNA (CMN152A) Panel if you want to look into it further.
