Great router for any size home.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this model based on a PC World recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. Setup was extremely easy (took less than 10 minutes but I am a "techie" at heart). Signal strength is excellent all over my 3-level home and outside on the porch and patio. Router is located on a cable-internet-phone equipment shelf about 7 feet above the floor in the basement (level 1) for ease of maintenance. The only disappointments I found were in the cheap plastic stand used to hold the unit in a vertical position and the location of the indicator lights. Setting the unit on a shelf above eye level without using the plastic stand prevents you from viewing the indicator lights without a step ladder or something to stand on. But using the plastic stand makes connecting and arranging the cables more difficult. If ASUS had placed the indicator lights on the front of the unit, they would be visible from above or below the unit.

This unit is very easy to setup.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router has solved all the shortcomings with my home wi-fi set-up. No lag or load issues with internet video or streaming with my Roku now. And I have signal out in the attached garage and on my patio that I never had before. As stated in my summary very easy setup, just attach the antenna's and connect the cables. It walks you through the rest. Would recommend to anyone.

Wow. This is Kick Butt unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a difference a day makes. This unit is just unbelievably good. I was a little concerned about the price. I got my money's worth. It works well, and an unintended value is that when I sit down beside it my whole body vibrates, and also I turn florescent, according to my wife. At least she think that. Yes, if you want to go top of the line. this is the sucker to buy. No doubt. I did have to read the directions, which I did not completely understand. But i got through it. I had to simplify the password, no spaces, to get my iphone5 connected. On the other hand it took me a month to figure out how to charge my iPhone. But that is another embarrassing story.

Good but doesn't work well upstairs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router does not provide a strong connection in the upstairs part of our house. You cannot watch streaming video from upstairs because it keeps stopping. It does work well in other places of our house and also on our backyard deck. When we had a different Internet provider, we had a Cisco router which did indeed work well everywhere. The upstairs connection issue aside, it was super easy to set up. I followed a YouTube video. The control panel software it comes with is easy to use and provides many options. I would recommend it to someone with a small house or condo.

The "Dark Knight" Rises and gives you killer WiFi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can't go wrong with this WiFi Router - although I'm using this as only an "AP" - the speeds are fantastic and you can split your wireless "G" and "N" antennas so you optimize the wireless in your house. Fantastic!

good router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took least than 10m to setup with the disc but has a lot of extra features. Only problem I'm having is it doesn't seem to stay connected to the internet. Logged it off & back on seemed to help but don't know for how long.

Great product...love it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this yesterday. I had bought the Netgear N600 router and the Linksys 1200 Router before and returned the Linksys which I thought had weak signal strength...kept the Netgear to use as a bridge or extender However the 1750 router is so strong I may not need to do this. My kids are getting four bars at the very far end of the house. We are at the top of our ISP range consistently and have had no buffering during streaming or when watching Netflix on Roku. We have four laptops, two desktops, printer, three ipods and six smart phones ,assorted video games including xbox (call of duty on xbox live) and we have direct TV also (whole house with on demand). Thus, the gigabyte router allows way more traffic (10 X more) and stops the internet drops. I had been attempting to set up a stable network, but the kids upstairs kept getting knocked off . This has not happened since I hooked up the Router yesterday. I may still set up a bridge or access point for streaming on the video games, TV's and Ipods. The 1750 was easy to set up. I did not have to call tech at all ...plugged it in and changed the name on the 5 band so it would show up and we were ready. It is easy to access and make changes to the router too...I really like this router. The young man at Best Buy said it was the best they carried and I think he was correct. If you have a large house ( mine is almost 4000 square feet with plaster walls), this router is the one for you.

Excellent Router after firmware update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a new router because my old Linksys WRTG started constantly dropping the connection. On my side of the house it was giving me 12 down and 2 up with half signal bar. The N66U is giving me full bars with 28 down and 3 up. My router is no longer the bottleneck. I do a lot of gaming on Xbox Live and Playstation Network and I have been getting Zero lag with the new router. The only problem is that the initial firmware would not connect to the internet. After I updated to the latest version it has been smooth sailing.

Q: QuestionNeed to know range of signal.
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer Ask ASUS. "ASUS Ai Radar intelligently strengthens connections to wireless devices. With high-powered amplification and beam package, it provides optimized signals in any direction with better coverage to improve data throughput." "The effective distance of for a wireless transmission. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n devices typically have a range of up to 200 meters and can cover an entire home with a strong Wi-Fi signal. Another benefit of 802.11n technology is much better coverage. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n devices use "reflections" of the signal (from walls, etc.) to strengthen it and eliminate cold or weak spots in the signal."

Q: QuestionAsus RT-N66U vs RT-N66RWhat is the difference?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There are no differences, software or hardware, between the RT-N66U and the RT-N66R. The reason for the "R" versions are that they denote ASUS routers that are sold from Best Buy only. Any "R" version of an ASUS router came from Best Buy.
