Great for non-contract
||Posted .I was a Verizon customer for over 12 years, my last contract ran out in 2008. I was done with contracts. Now that non-contract phones have the same features and plans, I decided to go for it. Verizon didn't offer a good selection. They discouraged me from getting a non-contract phone saying I would get a bar or 2 less than my contract phone. I live in a rural area. Verizon also told me service with another provider would not be as good as theirs. I found the Nokia 520 with ATT at Best Buy and it was a inexpensive way to try new provider & a new phone with all the contract frills. I have the phone a month and I get 5/5 bars 99.9% of the time even on rural roads. No dropped calls so far. The phone & service is crystal clear. For $65 I have a good phone, camera, & good video. Texting is easy. The phone does everything I need. I've always had LG phones -- it was time for a change. I like my phone & I am happy switching to ATT & with no contract. ATT offers international calling for about $5 you can get up to 250 mins/month. It's on a month-by-month basis, another non-contract offer I like. I like that is a Windows 8 phone and not Android. My tablet is Android & I can't run Flash and other programs.

Replaces my wife's iPhone 4s
Posted .My wife used to have the way old Windows mobile operating system. This was before Windows phone 7 even. She didn't like it (not many did). I got a Windows phone 8 and she loved it! I didn't think I'd ever see her ASK to change from the iPhone. The check marks and ratings here are hers.

Great phone for the price.
||Posted .This phone cannot be beat, better battery life than an iPhone 5, takes great pictures, and it runs the latest version of WP8, so its very stable. The 4" screen is the perfect size for use with one handed operations.

Excellent
Posted .Well this was a steal. First off, this is no iPhone so don't expect it to be. However for the $49 I paid its one heck of a phone. The screen is not gorilla glass but I guess you can't expect that for $49. However it's still pretty good. Windows phone takes a while to get use to. I really like the people and messaging apps which pretty much does all your chats from many services and texts into one client. The people app is great as you can see a contacts social life and pics all in this one app. Sound quality is great. Also Nokia maps allows for downloading the map of your state and can do hands free turn by turn voice navigation with out being connected to the Internet. Heck, no need to buy a GPS or iPod because even without phone service this phone will do both. I was using a flip phone with a basic 10 cents a minute plan. The flip phone had a regular sim in it so I just went to the AT&T store and they put my service over to a micro SIM card for this phone and I was all set to go. You can use any sim from any provider that uses AT&T towers, such as net10 or H20wireless. I turn the data connection off and just use wireless Internet from home or wherever I'm at. I travel overseas a lot so I do plan on unlocking it so I can use any sim over there. However I don't think you can do data in Europe, just cell service. The back cover feels a little cheap. I ordered a white one for $12 from Microsoft store. Even at the $61 I see now its still a steal. The 521 is the t- mobile version. While AT&T site says its for a smart phone plan, you can use any plan with it. Just turn off the data or you will be charged for it. My main gripe is I can't find a decent google voice app. So for VoIP, Skype is pretty much it. No front facing camera but what do you expect at this price.

Great low cost phone
||Posted .I was using an older iPhone on ATT. This phone is far superior in speed and ease of use. Office included which lets me use spread sheets uploaded from my desk top. For me really a good deal. I would trade that any day for a lot of apps I do not need. Only a few apps I wish were there, primarily Yahoo Finance. I really like the Windows system. I spend almost all my time Where wifi is available so for me on a budget plan with no data, this a fantastic phone. Lots of nice Nokia features, camera with Nokia camera installed is good. I

Great Phone with the Best GPS around
Posted .This lumia is a great phone. It actually can accept a micro SD card for virtually unlimited storage unlike the expensive version. What most people don't realize is that you can actually download the entire map of the world onto the microSD by getting the hidden program "Lumia Storage Check Beta". There is a link in the forum: http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-521/231766-moving-maps-sd-card.html This will allow you to install the maps onto the microSD card. Now, you have the GPS capability of having a map of the world wherever you travel. This is the best GPS that you can have. It is even better than the most expensive phones out there. If you can unlock this phone and go with T-mobile, you can have unlimited internet access and texting in 112 countries. It turns out that this inexpensive phone will be better than your expensive phone out there. It is that good of a product.
