AT&T Prepaid - AT&T Samsung A157 No-Contract Cell Phone - Black

I believe this cell phone is great to use for calling and receiving phone calls. Do not expect much from a basic phone, for the price that you paid for it.

This is a good phone for people who only want to make phone calls. It is easy to use, light weight, small, and is very cheap. It is a flip phone and does not need a contract to use. The call quality, signal, and screen size are downfalls of this cell phone as well as the features. Overall, it is a good beginner cell phone or one for an older person to use for simple calling.

I bought this phone because my post-paid phone broke and I needed something to get me through until I was able to get a new phone. A great throw back to the old style flip phone, this virtually featureless phone did everything I expected it to. I even received comments that the call quality on the other end was better than my previous Note 2. There's no camera, no bluetooth, and very few other features, but it got me through and I can't complain at all about it...it was weird to only have to charge my phone once per week.

A phone that is about as basic as it gets. If all you need to do is make calls and send a few texts here and there, without all the bells and whistles, then this is the phone for you. It is also great as a backup phone that I bring with me in case of emergencies. Battery easily lasts days on stand by (compared to my smartphone which I am lucky to get a day of usage on one charge) Can't go wrong on a phone I paid less than $10 for (on sale)

I bought this phone to be a simple, easy to use phone to replace a slider with a menu that was difficult to navigate. You don't have to use the SIM card for the prepaid plan that comes in the package. I just took the old SIM card out of the old cell phone and put it into this new phone, and that was all it took to switch the service for the old cell phone number to this phone. Something awesome that discovered is that is phone changes on a standard microUSB cable, so if you already have a Kindle charger, it will work for this phone also! It was very easy to add items to the "Go To" menu for quick access to make it silent and to check voicemail. The only thing I don't like about this phone is that it doesn't have a screen on the outside. When a call comes in, you have to open the phone to see who is calling. Not much of an issue for me. It does have a default setting that when you open the phone during an incoming call, you can choose to answer or decline the call. It does not automatically answer when you open it. Nice compact phone that slides easily into pocket or purse! I have been very happy with it!

I needed an inexpensive phone for my 11 year old to stay in contact with me and for emergencies. I didn't want it have any bells and whistles to tempt him. He needs to show that he can exercise restraint and be responsible (not lose it) before I will buy him something more expensive. This phone was perfect. We haven't had any reception or call quality issues. It must be easy to setup because he did it himself. The phone is small and fits into his pocket easily. For my needs it was a perfect choice.

My AT&T LG dropped calls in the middle of a conversation far too many times. Needed something temporary yet small enough to slide into my pocket. Found this phone at Best Buy. No frills but does have messenging capability - no camera (don't need one anyway) and no blue tooth - would be nice BUT for $14, who can complain compared to the cost of the LG I just trashed. Sound quality is good and reasonable set of ring tones available. I just changed out the SIM card and back in business.

Had an older AT&T phone that was acting up for my 85 yr old mother who is out of state.. When I got to town I went to the AT&T store.. no help .. since I thought it might be a battery problem. Went to Best Buy and to my luck an AT&T employee with some knowledge told me about this phone... that I could drop the SIM card from the current phone into this phone and not change anything about my AT&T service on my 3 cells. My mother loves the phone... SIMPLE.... all she needs and easy for her to operate... A WINNER
