Aventon - Aventure Step-Through Ebike w/ 45 mile Max Operating Range and 28 MPH Max Speed - SoCal Sand

I live at the top of a steep hill and do a 7 mile round trip commute every day. This bike allows me to cycle to work without worrying about that steep climb at the end of my work day. I've found myself taking it on rides around the area and am amazed at how far i go on a single ride. Im definitely getting exercise in but get to pace myself without worrying about tiring myself out half way round. I bought this bike for the power of its motor and it doesn't disappoint. While it isnt fast on steep (10%+) hills, the difference between what i can do with and without pedal assist is astounding. I turned it off once mid climb and i came to a halt under my own power. The gearing helps me match my power to the motor and the terrain. The fat tires allow me to take a shortcut across a grass drainage basin without worrying about losing grip and the mudguards keep me clean. I'm able to do about 20-30 miles on a single charge and the charger is fast enough for my needs. The bike is heavy which means I cant easily lift it by myself - especially annoying if you need to maneuver it to get around obstacles on the trail. It also meant i needed to spend a small fortune on a car rack strong enough to support it. Takes some getting used to the weight when braking going downhill. Despite it's appearance, its not really designed for rough terrain. The clearance on the crankshaft is low - very easy to bottom out. Its size and weight dont make it super maneuverable on trails. The delay when using pedal assist or throttle can also leave you stuck if you were planning on the assist for a steep hill and stop pedaling briefly. Overall, this bike is amazing. I get plenty of positive comments about it when out and about (only once have I heard snarky comments from peloton wannabees as i blazed past them on a hill climb. Ok maybe twice, but i was too far away to hear if they were saying "cheater!" or "where can I buy one?")

My package was delivered early and in great shape.

received on time and was well packaged no damage. Thought I was receiving a Samsung or LG Battery but it shipped with a Scud Battery and also thought it would have the Shimano derailleur but shipped with aventon branded derailleur and shifter.Same bike at Sarasota Bike Shop had the Premium Samsung battery and Shimano gear shift system for the same price. Hopefully the Scud battery lasts because replacement is near 500.00 dollars. 4 stars for now

This bike is super fun and easy to use. It works great overall. I ride it 17 miles to work and 17 miles home. I go up a steep hill for about 8 miles of that. The battery does tend to get hot and the bike has been losing some of its power though. I’ve only had it for about a month so far. Also it said the battery would last for 45 miles but i don’t think it would actually last more than about 25 miles without a charge.

Enjoying my new Aventure. Lights are very valuable, on/off by a switch. Wide tires increase the stability. Throttle helps when quick road crossing is needed. Overall excellent ebike. As noted on site, the bike is quite heavy. Difficult for me at times, I am 79 yrs old.

Just got this yesterday. 02/14 and already love it. Thank goodness for the video link on the items page for assembly. Even without using the battery, it's like floating on the road/grass with these awesomely oversized tires. Definitely worth the price. Eventually going to be used as my main transport from work to home.
