The sound on this little speaker is very good for its size. Base hits heavier than expected and vocals come out clear. It is also amazing in design and build quality. Only drawback is that battery life is not as great as it is on other speakers. Not bad just not the best.

Using it last two weeks non stop. Very happy with the purchase. Design, sound quality, battery life are all over my expectations. Recommended.

Sound Quality This thing produces absolutely amazing sound for its size. The bass notes it can reproduce are genuinely surprising. It also has an amazing spatial sound presence. The sound is unquestionably a highlight of this product. Design The look and feel here is top notch. It has an aluminum top and a soft touch bottom that helps it stay put. It is surprisingly heavy for its size which also assist in it not vibrating on the surface. This charges over USBC which is a big deal to me since the only thing I was carrying the ancient USB micro cable was for my previous Megaboom (first version). The advertised battery life is 24 hours. I have not tested this, but I have had no unexpected battery issues. I have read that some units drain very quickly at max volume, but I have not observed this with my unit. This speaker is supposed to be splash proof according to other reviews, but the box does not mention this so I would treat it as if it were not weather sealed. Value This is where it gets a bit tougher. This thing is a lot of cash. If I were buying at full price I would probably pass, but that goes for ANY portable bluetooth speaker in the $200-250 range. If I were considering a full price Megaboom 3 I would say this is worth the extra $50 for sure. The only reason to go with the UE product over the B&O A1 is if you MUST have the waterproofing.
