      Excellent Sound, Top-Shelf Workmanship

These are the best sounding Bluetooth headphones I've heard with ANC off. Transparent and neutral, a very WIDE soundstage and without the ridiculous bass-heavy response of some headphones. With ANC on, the sound stage compresses a bit and the audio quality degrades a little. For me, this is a non-issue, since I only use ANC while traveling on planes & trains...once a month or so. The ANC itself is very good but not in the same class as the Song WH1000XM2 but they are pretty close and the H9i's have superior audio performance to the Sony model. These headphones are unbelievably comfortable on my head. I can wear them for five hours straight and never feel any discomfort. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the B&W PX, which I tried first. Build quality is superior to everything else I've seen, except for B&W. That company's products are in a similar class to B&O. The thing which finally sold me on these cans is that the battery is user replaceable! If I'm spending this much money on a set of headphones, it should have a user-serviceable battery! I have no idea why other companies don't go the same route...this should be standard fair on all high-end headphones. To sum up, if you want a premium headphones with a wonderfully detailed and more or less flat response, high-quality build materials and plan to not use ANC all the time, you will be extremely happy with the B&O H9is.

Best ANC headphones on the market

Considering the overall build, sound and ANC quality, this is the best headphone I believe you can buy today. ANC is definitely not as good as the Sony 1000xm2. In my experience, Sony completely knocked out almost all low mechanical humming I get in my office. It also muffled the chatting sound around me quite substantially. However, I felt that the sound quality was too flat for my preference. The build quality also fell way short comparing to B&Os. When you wear your headset around the neck, the rough plastic edges around the headband area really starts to cut around the side of your neck. Also, the resistance for the headband adjustment was way too loose. I had to constantly readjust every time I put the headset back on. Lastly, Sony’s get hot around your ear very quickly, and the ear cups were very uncomfortable. H9i’s on the other hand has crazy comfortable ear cups, perfect clamp force, amazing build quality and sound signature. The only thing it falls behind the 1000xm2 is the ANC performance. If you can find the h9i on sale, I wouldn’t hesistate buying it over the Sony’s. Especially when you consider that h9i has user replacement battery and super easy to replace ear cups.

The sound quality is as good as any other product I've tested including the most highest priced. I own a pair of STAX - these B&O's are as good. The touch functions work as described. The feel of where the earpiece can be touched to activate certain functions requires some practice. The touch-volume adjusts from no sound up to loud enough to enjoy music or other media audio. I like this function very much. The quieting is dead-full quieting. In full quiet mode, with NO audio playing in the headphones, you will not be able to hear a person standing next to you talk unless they shout. Once audio is present, all sounds outside the headphones disappear. The only issue I have is that no power supply was provided to charge the phones - a charging cable but no supply. I called B&O about this and was told they deliberately did not provide one thinking most people have access to a 5v USB charger. For the price of these headphones, a charger should have been included.

      Pricey but worth consideration

Compared to other similar headsets, it’s a little heavy (bose QC35, Sony 1000mkii are both lighter) but it feels super high quality. Sound quality is very good. Even better with ANC engaged. They are a little heavy but are built like tanks. The ear cups are very soft and comfortable and I appreciate the ability to replace the battery (although extra batteries are NOT cheap). The app kinda sucks and should only be used to update the firmware really. Doesn’t come with a case, with is pretty disappointing. The ANC is definitely good and the microphone (one of the reasons I bought these) is fantastic. I can jump into online meetings and it sounds like I’m using a landline. Are these things awesome? Yes. Yes they are. But they are 100-150 dollars more expensive than the competition that, in some areas, perform better.

      Flawed product

There's this explosive hiss when playing Diana Krall's Like Someone in Love on pretty much every S she sings. This only happens when active noise cancelling is on. This is pretty much a deal breaker for me. Moving on to other things: While the ear-pads material is comfy, I prefer something that doesn't touch top and bottom part of my earlobes. The design is closer to on-ear rather than over-the-ear. I love the sound signature. It's not neutral but it has slightly elevated lows and highs. The bass is punchy but controlled. Probably the best I've heard from wireless ANC headphones so far. ANC works pretty well as far as I can tell. I'd spend more time but compromised sound and comfort really are the deal breaker for me.

It's expensive, beautiful, light, exotic, comfortable, crystal-clear, isolating from the world out there. This headphone surpassed my expectations. B&O reached it's pinnacle of refinement in quality and engineering when designing this gorgeous product for music appreciation. It's well worth the dollars you invest, for you'll have years of entertainment and delight.

These are the best headphones I have ever heard. I tried several others in the same price range and these were the best hands down. What made them for me is the software allowed yo to "feel" the separation of the instruments in the music. I could sense where they were on the stage..I am a bass player and the bass response on them is great.

I got them for a hundred bucks off and believe they will do best at the 350 to 400 range. Sound is clear and loud enough. Build quality is great but be careful with touch sensitive surfaces as they can get scuffed.
