    Synopsis

    Batman & Robin
This was the third follow-up to Tim Burton's Batman (1989), the original revisionist look at the Gotham City legend, as well as the second in the Batman series directed by Joel Schumacher and the first featuring George Clooney as the Caped Crusader; it features not one but two super-villains, and a new heroine to fight crime alongside Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) and Dick Grayson (aka Robin) (Chris O'Donnell). The experiments of Dr. Victor Fries (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to preserve his late wife cryogenically have gone horribly wrong, turning him into the evil genius Mr. Freeze, who must keep his body at sub-zero temperature in order to say alive -- and he wants to put Gotham City on ice. Shy horticulturist Pamela Isley (Uma Thurman) goes a bit wild with a Venus Fly Trap-like creation she's been working on and mutates into Poison Ivy, who wants to kill all the people on Earth so plants can take over. Can Batman and Robin stop these fiends before their plans go too far? Meanwhile, Bruce and Dick's faithful butler Alfred (Michael Gough) isn't feeling well, so his niece Barbara (Alicia Silverstone) comes to pay a visit. When Barbara finds out what her uncle's employers do in their spare time, she decides she wants in on the action, and she joins the crime fighting twosome as Batgirl. Batman & Robin also features Jesse Ventura in a small role as a prison guard; it would be his last film role before becoming Governor of Minnesota in 1998. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Batman & Robin. The film that ruined the original Batman movie series (not counting serials and the Adam West days). What caused it to be a flop? Basically Warner Bros. wanted it to be lighter for children and Mattel wanted profit, so the movie was basically one big toy commerical. Or at least Chris O'Donnell says it felt like it (in an interrview on the special edition he says when they made Batman Forever it felt like they were making a movie, this time it felt like they were making a big toy commerical). Basically it was throw back to the Adam West Batman mixed with wierd Batsuits (disturbingly almost every suit has nipples). Many also claimed the villians were uncharacteristic. Such as Bane who was reduced to a stupid lackey, Mr. Freeze who made puns and laughed alot, and Poison Ivy, who seemed to keep changing her goals. I don't blame the actors, I blame who ever put Joel Schumacher up to this, even Schumacher apologized for this film, when it comes to saying who let this movie be made, if you need a chuckle get this movie.

I truly enjoy this film. I think it really gets a bad rap for being goofy, campy trash. Visually, it's intriguing, with really sharp set designs and bright, yet gothic, appeal. I think George Clooney plays a fantastic Bruce Wayne, and Chris O'Donnell returning as Robin was a natural choice. The Blu Ray itself has an enjoyable HD presentation, and the special features are great. Don't get caught up in the trend of trash talking this flick. Take it at face value, enjoy it as a footprint in the Batman history, and remember what the 90s were all about. Everything produced nowadays is too serious, too grounded and too morbid. Have some fun with a superhero movie!

      So Bad, It's Decent...

Batman & Robin is heralded by many as one of the worst movies of all time. The acting is horrible, the special effects are terrible (rubber icicles...trust me on this one.), and the entire plot just seems to go nowhere and makes no sense...even for a Batman movie. If you were looking for this movie to pick up where "Batman Forever" left off, don't hold your breath. That being said, it really is a movie that winds up being entertaining in that you will constantly be laughing at how bad it is. If you are thinking of hosting a Bad-Movie Night or something to that effect, this movie would make a great headliner. Now, I don't normally do this, but I do recommend this movie, because it literally was so bad that it entertained me.

The greatest superhero film ever made is finally on Blu-ray! I am an avid fan of Batman, and let me tell you, no other adaptation of the Dark Knight comes close to the brilliance of Batman & Robin. Schumacher is a creative genius. And the Batsuits? Far out, dude! Cowabunga! Geronimo! Haha I love it when Robin surfs in the beginning, it's one of my favorite parts. And how can you compete with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze?? Certainly not Heath Ledger. Did Heath Ledger ever freeze anyone? I think not! If you loved Django Unchained, Spice World, and the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, you're going to love this movie. Fun for the whole family!

A lot of people hated this movie and I can kinda see why. I'm fine with this movie. Sure the comedy is not funny. Arnold Schwarzenegger ruined Mr. Freeze with those dumb jokes. George Clooney is the abomination of the Batman actors! It was cool with Bane in the movie. Uma Thurman, she's really good at being Poison Ivy. Alicia Silverstone, not bad at being Batgirl. The action is entertaining. As a kid, I loved it but I was like 12 years old. Watching it now around my age, it's not as good as I thought it was.

Oh my god what a horrible film this is , The acting is just so bad that i can not believe that this was actually meant to be a Batman movie , bad plot, bad jokes , bad music , bad action sequences , this movie would have been better called badman forever , because the character that appears here with nipples on the suit is not Batman . Overall this movie gets a 1.5 in my book (i am only giving it that .5 because of the cast )

I think that "Batman and Robin" was one of the greatest Batman films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite Batman films of all-time. I also think that "Batman and Robin" had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and creative, exciting and original personal storylines as well.

I saw this movie when I 14 yrs old which I think was the perfect age. I loved this movie because it was BATMAN! The movie landscape was alot different than it is now. Super Hero movies weren't so serious but I agree this movie took cheese to a whole new level.
