Only game good enough 2 play again!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI remember when Arkham Asylum was coming out. I was excited as everyone else, but not sure just how good it was going to be. I thought it was just going to be another flop in the super hero genre. Well, I must have not been all there up stairs cause it was awesome. Excitement:5, Challenge:5 (if you play on Hard first like I did), Graphics:5 (probably the best looking third person game i've seen in a while) Length:5 (about 15+ hours, and that's not including the challenges and finishing up finding all the riddles and trophies.) I caught onto this one quick from playing the previous one. I jumped into Hard mode like I did the first time, only this time a bit easier due to playing it before. I'm not your average game player who loves first person shooters, I prefer third person and i'm not the best at playing games on Hard, but there's something about this game and the freeflow combat system that makes you an elite gamer when playing on Hard, no matter your skill level. I started off the first one a button masher, and that will get you into trouble. Once I relaxed and hit one button at a time, like strike, or counter, etc. This game started to get pretty easy on Hard most of the time. After a some armor upgrades and playing some of the challenges, i've realized this is the best combat system in any third person action game i've ever played. So addicting, I found myself wanting more. Like most games on Hard, I'd want to run or not fight. This game changed that. If you played the first and know what i'm talking about, then get it if you want to enjoy it again, or get another 1000gs. If you've never played this game and have thought about picking it up, then do so. 50$ is a steal for this game with all the maps that I had to get extra with the first one. It also has the option of playing it in 3D, and you can turn that off anytime during the game if you get tired of wearing the glasses. But the game still looks amazing with or without them. So please, do yourself a favor and pick this up. Lay explosive gel, throw remote controlled batarangs, grapple enemies over a ledge, or sneak up behind em' for the quiet kill. Your choice. Batman AA GOTYE puts the tools in your hands as you progress through this amazing game. Can't wait for AA 2 due out early 2011.

Great Batman story/gameplay, lots of fun!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was late to the Batman games (just giving in last month) and I am glad I tried them because now I'm hooked. I am not really a comic book reader and I probably have about as much Batman lore knowledge as anyone who's watched the movies. I learned a lot about the villains in this series as the games give you that info, and it's just fun fighting as Batman! I had a great time with both "Batman: Arkham Asylum" & "Batman: Arkham City" and I really hope there's a third on the way. Good fights, clever puzzles, great voice acting (Mark Hamill really steals the spotlight as The Joker), the graphics and sound are top notch, and while the initial game looks like it will be small (due to it being confined at an asylum) there are outdoor areas and several buildings to explore. I highly recommend giving these games a try.

One of the best games ever, hands down.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've been a gamer for a long time now, although not a die-hard core gamer that has to have everything. I just recently bought an XBox 360 after lots of research. And the reason I bought it was because of this game. I was at the store looking for some PS2 games and saw this advertised with trailers. I was blown away by the look of it. So now I have the GOTY edition, and it is incredible. I've only played it through once, on the easy level, but it was tremendously fun and brought Batman to a new light for me. I've been a comic book and superhero fan for as long as I've been a gamer, but I've never been a big Batfan. This changes that however. You can fight it out, throw batarangs, use grapples, talk to Oracle, climb up on roofs, into ceilings and ventilation systems, and stalk the bad guys. You can even do the ultra cool crash through the ceiling onto the unsuspecting bad guys! Adding Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to the voice casting was just the icing on the cake for me. Hands down, the best video game I've ever played, on any system. You become Batman, and do all of the cool stuff he is known for. Oh, and no Robin!

First Entry into the Batman: Arkham Franchise
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendRaise your hand if you're a casual gamer. If that's you, you might want to leave the room. But that would also include me, and if I left the room, I would not be able to review this. I'm not very far into the game because I'm what you would call a "retrogamer" and the controls are foreign to me, but so far I'm enjoying it. And since it's the "Game of the Year" edition, you can probably snag it for a good price.

great game at a great price
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendthis is the first batman game released that actually has been able to make you really feel as if you are playing as batman. the story line is great along with the enemy encounters. the game does a great job at granting the players proper controlls and fullfilling the caped crusaders moves and abilities. there are plenty of gadgets including batarangs, zip line, grappling hooks and a device to hack/diable door control consoles so you can access certain areas. there are also alot of items to unlock, mostly including character stautes to look at, along with information regarding characters. ovrall the feel and look of the game is great, although in the end the game feels short and i was disappointed it was over and all the enemies were defeated, however once you beat the game you are free to explore the area and finish the riddler challanges. overall teh game is great, and if you have been looking for a successfull attempt at a game putting you in control of batman this is the game you have been looking for.

Happy but not totally
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI loved the game I played the first 2 story line achievements at my cousin's house but when I got the game my self... when I first opened it I was disappointed. I ordered the same copy he had ordered. The Game of The Year edition, under Platinum Hits. However I was very disappointed when mine didn't come with the 3D glasses and added game info he got. It would of been nice of them to put this in the Overview section as a heads up to people hoping to get the glasses as well that I'm guessing only half the people got.
