Comes in at the top of my all-time favorite games.
Posted .The game itself is amazing, but let's skip that for a minute. The add-on items in the collector's edition... The statue took a place of honor in my geek collection. It's just cool. The soundtrack and the DLC were great additions as well. I haven't watched the movie yet. Now the game: There aren't many games that I play through more than once. Thief was the first, Arkham City is now one as well. As soon as I finished the play-through on "easy" I started a new one on "normal" and I have a third game going just so my non-gaming but Batman-loving wife can watch the game through from start to finish. While it deviates from "canon" the changes are all intriguing. The new look of Penguin really made me want to know more. It can get a little annoying to have to run back and forth across the city repeatedly, but there is always something to do between here and there to break the trip up. All told, this is the type of game that keeps me gaming. If you've got kids around, mind the language. It's a bit saltier than you might expect.

GOTY candidate
Posted .I thought Arkham Asylum would be a tough act to follow. This game tops it and some. DLC extends play-ability, with challenge maps for Robin and Nightwing in addition to Batman and Catwoman... The only real problem I noticed with the game play was some weird anti-aliasing in the graphics occasionally. Not terrible, nor did it happen all the time, but enough to be noticed. My only regret was getting the Collector's Edition. The disc holder is pretty inconveniently located in the art book. While the art in the book itself is quite beautiful, the book can't really double as a stand-alone disc box, and slides into the back panel of the overall packaging, which means you can't just slip it neatly into a media rack. The only reason I got the Collector's Edition is for the early download of the Dark Knight Returns skin. However, it turns out that Rocksteady will be releasing ALL of the Batman skins in a bundled DLC pack in December for around $5... which I plan on getting. So really, I paid an extra $40 for the figurine, the art book, and the privilege of playing with the Dark Knight Returns skin about a month and a half early. I guess not a terrible deal, but were I to do it over, I would have just bought the standard copy and forgone the Collector's Edition.

Posted .Wuauuuu statue collection is perfect. It is an excellent balanace between color, texture, size, pose, shape and packaging. The art book is part of the case of Blu-Ray is fabulous, the arts are super good, to the point. The packaging design, which is just part of the piece is superb, the quality and the inaccuracies and art are super clean. I love this collector's edition. I have the epic edition of gears of war, and I think I like this more, buy them will not be disappointed. Also brings many codes for the game. The sound trak and something else.

Awesome
Posted .This is a very well done game. There are plenty of side quests to keep you busy as you try to beat the game. Storyline is edgy and keeps you on your feet. A few surprises are in store as you play through the story mode. Even though the fight scenes are pretty simple at times, but with fighting as many as 15+ guys, it certainly makes it feel difficult. The only thing i would have to say is that there are a LOT of Riddler's tokens to be found to unlock some of the more games content.

not just for kids anymore
Posted .arkham city blows away arkham asylum. the storyline is more realistic and all of the character skins are even better than the comics. i'm glad i picked up the collector's edition because you receive free access codes for content not available yet on PSN. the statue is one of the best designs i have seen for batman and the detailing is beyond exceptional. the artbook is a great inside of the work around character builts, nice to have as a batman fan alone. all the extras besides the game is well worth every penny.

Arkham City is the best gamr ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted .Arkham City totally toped Arkham Asylum. AA was really good my favorite of 2009, but seeing the trailers and gameplays it just seems that AC is gonna totoally be 900000000000000000000 times better that AA.

Best RPG I have played all year!!!
Posted .I lucked out and bought the set on sale for $24.99. It sat on my shelf for almost a yr. When I finally got around to get through the 1st hour and learn the basics of batman's moves, I was absolutely amazed at the level of intense game play this had to offer. I have been glued to my controller day and night looking forward to the dozens of villain plots, Jokers insanity and the Riddlers complex world of intensely difficult puzzles. The content of the collectors edition is cool even for a father. The Batman statue is awesome and the art is amazing. I haven't watched the movie but I'd bet it is well put together as well. I am here and now FOREVER a fan of this game series. Can't wait for the next one coming in a few months!

Capitalized on great mechanics
Posted .This game really capitalized on the things that made the last one great. The fighting mechanics are great. The enemies attack you more and this is made up with adding to your counters. Depending on where you are or where you are attacked from makes your character react differently and it is smooth. The great thing about ordering from Best Buy is the addition of the Robin character in the challenge mode. I am a fan of the Ti Drake Robin character and it is nice to play as him and see a different fighting mechanic than Batman. I just wish I could have picked him in the game itself. The story is good and the introduction of new enemies is great. The Riddler challenge is a little excessive but adds to the depth of the game.
