Decent, not great
||Posted .I love 2K and haven't disliked a game put out by them yet, but I feel a bit cheated by this game. I spent $60, and while it may eventually be worth that much, it isn't yet. The campaign is insanely fun, but painfully short. Which makes sense since it's designed to be MP game. However, the MP maps and characters are really weak. 4v5's constantly happen and games take 20 minutes + the game also just feels.... unfinished. I feel like I'm playing more of a BETA than a full game. I have put 1000+ hours in LoL, Smite, Paragon, etc. and while this does a good job trying to blend genres, it isn't nearly as elaborate as those or as simple as Overwatch or Paladins. Overall, it stuck itself in a weird middle zone and just makes the game feel awkward.

Fun but............. frustrating too
||Posted .Great idea, but the execution keeps trying to ruin the game. Characters are cool and varied, lots of options for different play-styles. Gameplay is fun and it is great learning each character. And here is where the 'but' starts. The game has local co-op and I believe all modes can be played with bots. This experience is good, but you still have to be online and connected to Battleborn's servers. Playing with bots is relatively easy, but can be a lot of fun. The online game modes are competitive and story mode. Each story mode mission is 30-45 min long and is the most consistent part of the experience. Moving to competitive play and things start to get troubling. The biggest problems with Battleborn are that matchmaking takes a LONG time. I typically wait over 5 min for a full 9 players to be found to play with, and then choosing the map and character takes a minimum of 2 minutes as well. That is way too long to be sitting and waiting, not playing. Comparing it to Halo 5, you're into a new game under 2 min. The second problem with competitive play is the lack of being able to find balanced matches. Most matches are very lopsided. You can go from 12-4 K:D in one game to 2:10 in the next. This leaves it feeling too easy, and unsatisfying, or too difficult, and unsatisfying. I understand the nature of the game is to find friends that you can work with in a strategy to win, but being an adult and having 4 other friends who are consistently available to play is hard. Overall, I keep coming back to it every few weeks to see if there is new content. The Battleborn team seems great with providing updates and trying to balance characters. In the end, I'm sorry that I paid out for the season pass, as I have to keep playing and waiting to make sure I got my money's worth.

Should've gotten more attention
||Posted .Had it not released around the same time as Overwatch, I think it would've been more popular. The game was a fresh style for me; it provided something new that I wasn't used to playing. The bad thing is that it seems to lack a sense of team composition; nobody tries balancing the team. Also, the DLC seems lackluster and overdue. New characters aren't much when there aren't many players and new missions should've been released a while ago. Even though there isn't much of an audience, 2K is not giving up and props for that.

Good for campaign now
||Posted .I picked this up for a very cheap price (especially with the gamers club unlocked discount) and it is worth it for me. I have a friend who also owns the game and we are playing through the story mode. I haven't tried the multiplayer, but from what I hear the player counts are extremely low (Overwatch's fault and for good reason). However if you appreciate the quirky characters and Gearbox's gameplay you will like the game. Recommended for campaign only, especially if you have someone to play with.

A fun, different game
||Posted .In my opinion, Battleborn definitely delivers with the multiplayer experience. It offers plenty of strategy and in-match customization. The campaign is decent, but leaves a little to be desired. Although the humor and overall game play is very well done in the campaign, it is very difficult for a solo player to get through some of the missions.

Decent time killer for the price!
||Posted .If you can pick this game up for $10 bucks or less, it's worth a shot. It's not a bad game, but was majorly overshadowed by Overwatch as they released very close to each other originally. Is it worth 60 bucks? Definitely not, but for less than 10 bucks, it's worth the hours of entertainment you'll get out of it. Single player is fun, but I'd say this game is best played with a friend, and for the price you can afford to buy 2 copies and gift one!

Surprisingly Great
||Posted .This game really screwed itself by coming out at the same time as overwatch. The devs seem to be making an effort to make this the best game they possibly can make it. Wait times can be a drag but you will not be disappointed with PvP. PvE is not the greatest, especially when compared to the borderlands series, but each mission feels like a raid so it is fun to complete them at least once but the story is barely pieced together. Unlocking and perfecting characters is a blast.

Couch Co-Op Rules All
||Posted .That's right 5 stars and it's because in this day and age, we have accepted not being able to play with people in couch co-op. We that grew up in the early 1990's know that almost every cool game was 1-2 player. The times have shifted, but this game res urges old feelings of both unity and function. My girlfriend and I play online all the time and we both level up at the same time. The only thing that I had an issue with was unlocking the first few playable characters after the prologue for my girlfriend. This is only a minor gripe as there is a lot of things to unlock like new characters, abilities, and appearances. In order to fully appreciate this title, one would need to have a person to play with at home against the minions that you'll have to overcome. Boss battles are amazing and gameplay is rewarding. A must have!
