Posted .I've been waiting for this game for quite a while now and I'm glad that it is just as great as I had hoped. That being said, I should explain what my expectations were in ragards to multiplayer. I had expected this game to stick to the core Battlefield principles of multiplayer gameplay. That means striking the best possible balance between realism and gameplay. It also means pacing the game in such a way that makes calculated, tactical thinking just as important as the reflexive aiming skills. Players must think much more (compared to other games of the FPS genre, more on that later) about where volumes of fire are coming from, where their team members are located, and how selecting a particular setup will affect the Battlefield in which they play. Players are given four classes to choose from: Assault, Support, Recon, and Engineer. Players who played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 should take note of a few chages to the class setups. What one was the medic role in BF:BC2 how now been split up as it is more sensible. The Assault class is now the "medic" of the bunch, making use of a defibrillator and med-packs to heal wounded or downed allies. The difference now being that instead of using a LMG as the primary weapon as in BF:BC2, this class uses an assault rifle. The LMG is now the primary weapon of the Support class, which now deploys ammo packs and touts an explosive equipment such as C4 or Claymores. Players who have played the Beta of Battlefield 3 may have noticed that the Engineer class the oddball out, having little use outside of having a submachine gun. Now that vehicles are in the mix for the final game Engineers are one of the most useful classes around, getting teams out of a pinch when a pesky tank comes rolling by. Last of the four classes is the Recon class. It is my personal opinion that this is now the oddball of the bunch. Recon, as many would guess, makes use of Designated Marksman Rifle and Sniper Rifles as their weapon of choice. Now I shouldn't say that it is the oddball by design, because it does have a lot of use when players who use them know how to spot, and do it often. Most players use the class to snipe and only to snipe, ignoring the name Recon all together. The excellent classes form the perfect Rock-Paper-Scissor type scenario that makes the game extremely well balanced. Players coming over from a Call of Duty game are going to be forced to change their play styles. The reason being that in most CoD games, the usually end up becoming a measure of what gun you use the most, rather than who has the most skill. Players frequently use blatantly overpowered guns/perks and then run around the map laying waste to those who don't use those weapons. All the while using kill streaks to earn more kills without having to do any of the work. In Battlefield, there is not calling in a attack chopper to do the dirty work for you. YOU are the chopper. YOU are the killstreak. The campaign is well done, albeit brief. It took me approximately 6 hours to beat it on the hardest difficulty. Some moments are far more challenging than others. Let it be know, though that the intro is one of the most gripping and intense ones I've seen in a very, very long time. It really draws you in. Battlefield 3 has actual achievements, by which I mean that you actually have to achieve most of them. Many games give you 70-80% of possible gamerscore just for beating the campaign on hard. I only earned a little over 200 the first run through. It goes without saying that the graphics are amazing. There are plenty of reason to keep playing, be it the Cooperative campaign to unlock guns for multiplayer, or the incredibly long list of class unlocks. This should be the game of the year as it is truly polished. There are a few networking hiccups (as to be expected the first few days of a major launch) and insignificant glitches, but they are so insignificant or infrequent that it doesn't really matter. Go out and spend your sixty bucks on Battlefield 3 this holiday, no other game will compare and you certainly won't regret it. See you on the Battlefield!

Battlefield 3 is a revolutionary FPS.
Posted .This game is the true McCoy of First-Person shooters, and this is coming from an FPS fan who has played many FPS games. Personally, this game is the best FPS shooter that I have played by far. The graphics and lighting in Battlefield 3 are just plain amazing, and I play on the Xbox 360. Audio sounds a lot more sophisticated with guns, tanks, jets, what have you. Movement in BF3 from Battlefield Bad Company 2 feels alot more fluid especially with the add on of prone (which is a smart idea considering the new suppressive fire). There is also alot more customization in BF3 with new attachments for guns, perks for vehicles, and camo for your soldier. The maps and scenes of the Battlefield maps are just phenomenally stunning and gorgeous, especially when flying high in F/A 18 Super Hornet. All in all the Mutliplayer far exceeded my expectations, it is not only beautiful to see, but it actually feels like your in war with bullets wizzing by your head, soldiers hoping over ledges, tanks and jeeps rolling by, helicopters feeding lead to your enemies, and jets engaging in dog-fights seemingly in the heavens. Now on to what's not so great about the game. There is many many bugs and glitches in the game, for example there is a knifing gltich where you go to knife someone and then your guy misses and is still holding his knife out but can't use it. There is also very bad spawn points on TDM where the maps are a lot smaller, I literally spawned with 2 enemies right in front of me, and then later when I stopped in a corner to reload, an enemy spawned right in front of me again. But, these bugs will be easily patched eventually, because you have to consider that its only been less than a week since the game had come out. Another not so good thing is the fact that Destruction 2.0, or the ability to destroy buildings has been nerfed or dubbed down. Now bombs and objectives are usually placed outside of buildings, or placed inside un-destructible ones, to prevent the attacking side from just collapsing a building with a bomb in it without even attempting to plant it, which was seen a lot in BF:BC2. And I agree with the new less destructible environments because of this fact, but it is a let down that maps don't start off intact and end up looking like a nuclear explosion just went off after the game is done. Even so, Destruction is still evident as walls, and some buildings can be brought down with a simple explosive or rocket. The reason why I didn't include single player in good or bad is because I can't decide yet. I'm only on the third mission of the campaign so I haven't gotten that far yet. But even so, the campaign is still fun and entertaining, especially on Hard mode, despite everyone saying that there was a missing plot or it was un-challenging. There are some points where you have to engage in certain tasks that involve you pressing buttons like A, Rt, B, etc, and they are very lenient with the button controls and require only 3 or 4 buttons to surpass, I once pressed a button nearly 2 seconds after it came up and it still went through. A lot of people said that the campaign was very "call of duty" like with certain missions that can be seen in Black Ops, and that the campaign itself was very short in size. I really don't know much about the campaign considering that I am only on the third mission, but I must say that it is mildly entertaining and you will get a few kicks out of it, but the Multiplayer is the true highlight of the game itself. All in all, this is game is very amazing and so gorgeous. If you are debating whether or not to get it, I'm telling you that your $60 will be payed off and then some with this game, it is truly a worth while experience. In fact, I think I will go and play some now, hope to see you on the Battlefield!

Will be an Amazing FPS game.
Posted .This game will be by far the best FPS game out once it is released. I read the review of some fella above that the game will be put down because the so called "they want to PC and console to be the same." That's not going to happen. The devs are making BF3 for PC players since the BF series has always been PC oriented. All the trailers out are from PC meaning the game is made first for PC then console is made out of the PC type performance. So BF3 will not be a console ported game like recent releases of games. Yes i am a PC gamer but i will be getting it for 360 to play with my console friends. in the end, this game will be amazing.

Frostbite 2 technology....nuff said
Posted .The main points that I see in reviews that gave BF3 a bad rating were glitches, and the graphics. The answer for all of this is simple....IT WAS IN BETA! The glitches have been fixed and the graphics look better and not as rough in the actual game. Also BF3 will have Frostbite 2 technology improving on the original frostbite which was great. COD is still using the same technology just repackaging the game with a new storyline. Don't get me wrong I like COD, but IMO Call of Duty Modern Warfare was the last actually good one. I personally can't wait for this game to be relesaed I mean for God sake you can fly a freaking jet!

It's only a beta
Posted .How can people be saying the games graphics are bad? The full game hasn't been released yet. Please do not judge by just the beta! They are simply stress testing the servers, currently using old code. The graphics and sound are great in my opinion and will only get better. So give it a try when the actual game is released on the 25th, then write your reviews. And remember its a beta, NOT a demo.

Their is a new sheriff in town. It's name..B3
Posted .Battlefield just keeps getting better and better. With each new game they add more and more to keep it fresh and exciting.Unlike the Call of Duty series which hasn't done anything new since MW.All Call of Duty does is repackage MW and put a 2 on it and give it a different name like Black Ops.I will spend my money on Battlefield 3.You should as well.

Excellent Beta, Looking Forward To Full Release
Posted .A lot of people are saying that the beta is bad, they are only saying that because they don't know how to play it. The graphics are awesome and destroy Call of Duty's, and the sound effects are amazing on it. The combat is also very balanced, but it does take a while to get the hang of. There's a lot more to come too, because the beta is not using Frostbite 2.0 to its full advantage, which means the final release should be 3x as good! I would recommend this to anyone who likes shooters, definitely going to beat Modern Warfare 3.
