Synopsis

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan
Edward James Olmos directs this feature-length drama that tells the story of the Peabody-winning series -- from the perspective of the Cylons. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan finds man's creations plotting to destroy their makers, but when their genocidal scheme leaves survivors. Now, two Cylons must try to eliminate the remnants of humanity, while Adama (Olmos) and his fleet struggle to survive. From the nuclear devastation that began the miniseries to Sharon's (Grace Park) attempt to kill her commander, all the show's biggest moments are seen from the enemy's point of view. The film also stars Tricia Helfer, Michael Hogan, Dean Stockwell, Michael Trucco, and Aaron Douglas. ~ Kimber Myers, Rovi

$15 for a made for TV movie? I made the purchase with great apprehension! I got it home and saw 1hr53min on the box and thought "Oh that must include the extras". This has become one of my true joys in the collection. WOW, I was blown away by almost 2 hours of solid action and background and special effects on the first 159 days of the series events. There were so many "payoffs" to scenes you wondered about in the series. Events you thought were throw aways, come right back atcha! My friend says that there are added scenes from the televised version too, which I missed. Plus there's a load of deleted stuff that really helped fill in some gaps for me, in the movie and the series itself. I am glad they included all the missing Sharon stuff in the deleted scenes also. Even some of the occurrences that they didn't cover in the movie were covered in the deleted stuff. I was really intrigued by the Sharon stuff and how they weaved it all together so tight! I keep thinking, they MUST have had these scenes written in year 1 when they showed the on-air version, but they claim its new writing. WoW again! All the original actors are back for this outing too! What a great job! I still would have liked to get more insight on what Sharon experienced going aboard the Cylon ship before she blew it up, and also think there has to be a whole movie worth of story in the whole "Starbuck disappears, returns and disappears" Mythos.

I've been interested in Science Fiction since I was 8 years old and dirt was young, a long time. Through the years since there have been good TV based SyFy programs but not with the acting or special effects of Battlestar. Well done throughout from beginning to end. The comments made about this segment were, "Once you've watched this, you scratch your head and finally you understand why things happened the way they did and it does make you want to go back to the first episode and watch the entire series over again with new perspective." Isn't this what excellent TV or movies should really do? This captures everything a really good series should, it keeps you in your seat and makes you want to begin again at the first episode and see it all over again. Well done writers, producers, directors, cast and crew. I am on my feet, hat off and applauding and my hands hurt.

This movie was a like a chocolate cake for Battlestar Galactic fans. It was great at connecting events from the series to events in the movie. It also filled in gaps and question marks from the series.

One of the best produced DVDs from the Battlestar Galactica series. This story really brings together some of the loose ends and adds a whole new dimension to an already great story

This explains a lot from the Cylons' point of view through season 2. There is nudity I didn't expect so be aware of that.

The DVD is a good wrap up of the entire series, to add things you didn't know happened during the series.
