Perfect for DJ's
Posted .I've been DJ'ing for over 20 years and the Beat Pro's are the best pair of headphones that I've ever used for DJ'ing. The sound quality is really good. Very clear sound with lots of bass. The bass is what really separates these headphones from the sound of other high end models. Over the years I've had trouble with the plastic parts on my DJ headphones cracking from folding them up when going to the club. The Beats Pro are made out of metal so they won't crack like most other DJ headphones (Pioneer 2000 are also made out of metal). Another feature that I like is that the detachable cord has an end that is curved. What that means for DJ's is that the end of the cord that plugs into your DJ mixer doesn't stick straight up and get in the way when your DJ'ing (when using mixers that have the headphone jack on top of the board). Because it's curved, it stays out of the way. The comfort level of these headphones is pretty standard. I also find the white headphones to be unique and very attractive. These headphones are pricey, but not if you're a serious DJ.

Favorite pair of beats
Posted .I own 5 pairs of beats- Pros, Studios, Solos, tours, Mixrs they are all great, but the pros are probably my favorite The noise cancellation on the pros is not amazing (compared to the studios) but it is not horrible at all. the noise cancelling is good, but could be better. some people say they are too big or bulky, but they really aren't. The case is small and easy to carry, but has no place for the headphone chord also the carrying case is not a very strong case... it is only a small leather bag, and you cannot fully put your beats in the case there will always be a little bit of the headband you can see. overall they are a great pair of headphones they do what they are supposed to do

Music Listeners Cans
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBeats Pros are the top of the line cans designed by Dr. Dre and made by Monster. As such, there's a lot to be expected of these seeing as they also cost $399.95. These headphones can be looked at from two perspectives: Those who just enjoy music and those who need pro tools to process music in the most balance way possible. I have no experience in the latter view, but I do love to try to get the most out of my music without really calling myself an audiophile. Just a little info about headphone tech when used with certain products; These are not headphones for iPhones, iPods, iPads, etc. While these cans will, no doubt, work with these devices, they were not made for these devices. iOS devices like the iPad only allow a certain amount of power to flow through the audio jack which means most of the talent in these headphones would be lost with iPhones. That's not to say that they'll sound bad if you did decide to use them with an iPhone, iPad or iPod, just know that they were designed to handle more sound than any iOS device is capable of driving. I use my Beats Pros when I listen to music on my MacBook Pro, which can deliver a much louder sound than my iPhone/iPad/iPod can. In this case, I can really enjoy the sound and all of the little detail I'd miss otherwise. Now on to the wearability. Comfort is very important to me. I typically wear headphones at their loosest setting just because I like my head to breathe, but these Pros are so heavy because of the metal that I need to actually adjust them so to avoid them falling off my head. When I do so, they aren't bad at first, but after the third or fourth hour with them on, they ears are all fatigued out. EDITED IN: [Also, somewhere along the line I need to take off my glasses if I want to continue to use them. I don't see well without my glasses but that's the price of fashion.] Every once and a while I need to adjust them, but like I said it's around that third-fourth hour that they get so bad that I often need to take them off. However, I understand that not all people have as much free time as I have right now, so for 2 hour sessions or shorter, they're decently comfortable and perfectly tolerable. On to their physical design. Beats Pros are sexy as hell. The all metal construction gives them an authentic and premium feel. They don't feel like they'd break on you within a few years. And as a whole they just look beautiful. I have the white ones, which I think match the silver aluminum a lot better than the "black" ones which are still primarily silver aside from the headband and the cushion cups. I mean, if you were a Raiders fan I guess you'd enjoy the natural silver and black look, but I don't like football, I just love music and great design, where the colors agree with each other. One particular design feature that I also enjoy is the ability to swing the ear cups in order to hear people talking and such. There is no mute button like there is on the Studio Beats, but this better imo, because a button can break whereas the firm metal construction needs to break to render this feature useless on the Pros. Nicely designed, indeed, but what about the quality of the sound? As you'd expect, these $400 headphones excel in every area over the Apple earphones. But that's not to say I have to compare them to Apple earphones for them to appear great, no. These things are beefy in their delivery. Yes, they are still beats which means they have a little more bass than most other headphones you'll be used to, assuming you haven't used Beats before. So, there is more bass than normal, but the thing is, they're still more balanced than any other model of Beats. It's actually not even that bad. Trust me, I own a pair of the Beats Solos (Muddy, muddy bass), owned a pair of the Studios (Muddy bass, but better mids and highs than the Solos), own the Mixrs (decent balance while retaining great performance in the lows), and the Beats Pros, which are the most balanced. These headphones are quite nice for the sound. They add a new dimension while still adding the ability to hear the detail that you may be missing with other lesser headphones, but, again, they're still bass heavy. Now, if you're like me and would normally turn on the Hip Hop EQ anyways, these headphones just allow you to set the EQ to natural and still get the extra bass effect. I listen Rap, R&B, Rock, Metal, Pop, Dream Pop and I think these headphones are perfect. They add more bass to the songs that I love bass on and add base to songs that have weak bass to begin with. That's a plus for me, not so much for those who want to listen to music "exactly the way the artist intended." Being powerful headphones, they will leak sound, as well. You know, I've never had headphones that didn't leak at least and the same seems to be true hear. At higher volumes, people will be able to hear what you're playing, but at lower levels, they should be close to undetectable, but they do leak. In the end, I think these are wonderful headphones. I love making up excuses just to use these things. They are the best headphones I've ever owned, but maybe not the best for the price if all you care about is the quality of the sound. These are great sounding fashionable headphones: as long as you know what you're paying for, nobody should have a reason to complain. Fashion is expensive. You know what I'm talking about ladies. Value = 5 Sound Quality = 5 Comfort = 3 Durability = 5 Final score = 4.5 For those who want great sounding headphones to use with a phone or on a device with more power, I'd highly recommend the Beats Mixrs. They're like mini Beat's Pros: Really great Bass, well-balanced (for beats) lightweight, very fashionable, swivel-cup design, a bit uncomfortable after hours of use (more comfortable than Pros), plus, designed better for lower end audio devices. They're also $150 cheaper for about 70-85% the amount of bass and clarity you get in the Pros.

amazing sound quality, true pro quality
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is my second full review of beats by dre headphones. To start I have owned the beats studios, beats executives, and now the beats pro (white). I have got to say the pro's absolutely take the cake as far as sound quality is concerned. If you are going to compare the pro's with the studios or the executives there are some key difference I need to point out. Firstly the pro's are ALL ALUMINUM AND STEEL this means they are heavy, but they are also by far the most durable as well. the pro's have a 50mm driver instead of a smaller 40mm driver which is found in the studios and the executives. This gives the pro's an edge since it produces deeper bass, and much clear mid and high ranges. If you are more concerned with how they will look on your head you will be very pleased with these headphones, they look amazing! They are made of high quality aluminum with steel as well and will absolutely draw attention to you. If you don't want to be noticed these are not for you. Ok enough with aesthetics, I use my cans for a large amount of recording and of course to enjoy my music. I do enjoy the fact that there are two inputs on this pair of headphones which allows me to daisy chain them, or choose which side I may put the jack into. The ear cups will also rotate allowing you to hold a conversation with someone or listen to your surroundings along with your music (important for recording artists and DJ's). These are also very comfortable, not quite as comfy as my executives or studios, but I can easily listen to music or record for 3-4 hours before needing to take a break. Batteries, these don't need them! The studios and executives need batteries in order to operate the active noise cancellation but the pros don't need it because they incorporate a slightly better seal to you head. Unlike the studios, these do not leak NEAR AS MUCH SOUND. With my studios if I had the music above 30% just about everyone around me could hear everything I was. This was improved upon quite a bit with the executives but is almost completely gone with the pros which is a huge benefit to picking these cans over the other two. Also one other thing I wanted to mention, these DO NOT DISTORT WHATSOEVER. Every other pair of headphones I've ever heard including the other beats by dre cans distort at louder volumes, these produce perfectly crystal clear skull cracking sound at very high volumes (not recommended to do very often if you like your hearing lol) and this is a HUGE WIN for these headphones. Cords There are two cords that come with these cans, one very thick DJ style cord with a 1/4" adapter attached to one end and a locking 3.5mm input jack on the other. The second cord is the well known control talk cable found with every other pair of beats cans. Would I buy these again or recommend these to a friend? ABSOLUTELY. I have not heard a better set of cans (my personal experience) and I believe they sound INCREDIBLE. In reality, you get what you pay for. If you can afford these and if sound quality and perfect bass reproduction is important to you these are by far the headphones for you. DC2B

Amazing for any avid listener
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought these after deciding to not get the studios because of the sound leakage. I am so happy with my decision, they're a hefty set of headphones but they make up for it with the roaring bass and the super clear highs. I noticed for the first month or so before they were broken in, that the headband sort of pushed on my head and it made it kind of uncomfortable to wear for extended times, (Car rides, Music editing, etc.) however, after awhile they got better fitted to my head and didn't hurt after they were broken in. These headphones also block sound pretty well, remember it's not noise canceling because it would sacrifice sound quality, but they do a pretty good job of blocking out sound. I would recommend these to any listener of music that wants to be serious about their sound quality! I also want to say that I got the white set and they don't get dirty very easily which is awesome because that was one worry of mine! If they get dirty just wipe them with a wet cloth and everything is okay! Take care of them and these headphones will last forever!

Good looks, bulky, bass heavy
|Posted .I own a pair of Studios Wireless 2 and these definitely surpass them in the bass category and heaviness. I enjoy listening to music on the Pros but after about 1 hour they DO start to hurt your ears. They are like a vice on your head and it can get uncomfortable. I usually deal with it by taking them off for 15 minutes then I put them back on. I am a bass head so these headphones where right up my alley. They are definitely bass heavy but not to the point where it drowns out the rest of the sound. I use my iPhone 6S Plus to listen to music and these definitely get powered sufficiently to get decent sound from them. Soundwise, if you like bass, these are for you. If you like Red, these are for you. The only gripe I have once again is that I wish they where a little more comfortable. I switch between my Studios and Pros on a daily basis. I also wish that the Pros came with a hardshell case rather than a pouch that offers no protection in case of a fall. I did end up buying a hardshell case on ebay for $10 and Im still waiting for that to arrive. All in all Im happy with them. I was able to get these for $180 rather than the $275 because instore they had them even a a deeper discount. I suggest you call the stores before you purchase online because they sometimes have a lower price and although they will most likely NOT have it in stock, they order it and ship it to you. So once again, call your local BestBuy store before you order online, I got mine for $180! Even cheaper than the black refurbs they have on here for $250.

Great Headphones
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI see people getting on here and writing about how the beats aren't worth the money, but don't let listen to them, that is their personal opinion! I believe they are worth it... It all depends on how you like to listen to music! I love these because of the great bass, sound quality and durability. People complain saying "the bass is overpowering", when if you have an iPhone/iPod touch, there's an EQ mode "Bass Reducer"..... and if you didn't want headphones with this kind of bass, why did you chose to buy beats? It's what they're known for!!! But with the Beats Pro, you will notice music you didn't know was even in the song, crisp highs, very low bass that will not muffle, and small discomfort levels after extended use.

Pros vs. Studios
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have both the pros and the studios. I just bought the pros and am very excited ! Here are some comparisons: 1) The sound quality is about the same. 2) Pros wire is thicker and more durable. 3) The headphone itself is more durable 4) The style is about the same 5) The studios are more comfortable 6) No battery needed for the pros 7) Pros soft case seems cheaper than the hard studios case 8) DOES NOT isolate sound 9) A little too heavy 10) Sweet new features like turning the earphones. Overall, awesome new headphones ; can't wait for the next invention from Dr. Dre !
