Q: How would you keep the plates clean?
A: Hello, thanks for reaching out. Cleaning and Maintenance 1. Always turn off the appliance, unplug it, and allow it to cool down before cleaning. 2. You can easily remove any excess oils or crumbs without disassembling the appliance. NOTE: NEVER SUBMERGE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR PLACE IT IN THE DISHWASHER. 3. For best results and preserve the non-stick coating longer, use nylon, plastic, wooden or rubber utensils. 4. Use a soft cloth on the heating plates and occasionally a metal polish intended for stainless steel on the outer housing. Never use abrasive scouring pads or steel wool. 5. If there is hardened batter on the plates, pour a little oil and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes. You can then wipe clean with a paper towel. 6. Do not use the Waffle Maker for anything other than making waffles. This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician. Steps For Stain Removal and Proper Care of Your Non-Stick Coating 1. Identify stained areas on the cooking surface and sprinkle some baking soda on the stains. 2. Moisten the baking soda to get a paste like texture by adding some water. 3. Let the paste stand for a few minutes on the stains (not more than an hour) 4. Rub with a soft damp cloth or lightly scrub with a plastic scouring pad, wipe clean and dry thoroughly. NOTE: Do not rub vigorously when using a plastic scouring pad and NEVER use a metal scouring pad as this may damage the non-stick coating. 5. Q: What happens if you use nonstick spray with the waffle iron?
A: The manual says that the nonstick surface will no longer work after continued use of the nonstick spray. It recommends against it. You can, however, use cooking oil.
A: Once the waffle plate heats up a red light comes on. You pour the dough on the hot plate, close the lid, & rotate it (this locks the grill). The red light stays on until cooked. That’s when the light turns green stating it is done. Turn back over to release lock, lift lid, & remove waffle.

Q: What size are the waffles? How long does it take to cook 1 set of waffles?
A: they come our in quarters and the diameter is roughly 7 inches. They take about 3 to 4 minutes per waffle I would say. Its pretty quick. I left mine a little longer after it said they were done as I like the outside a little crunchier
