More than just hot air
Posted .If you are jumping into the Air Frying wave of cooking. The Bella Air Fryer is a great place to start. This has plenty of interior space to cook more than just french fries. Ten preset cooking buttons cover most recipes and items you would cook in a larger oven, but at a smaller fraction of time. So far I tried the "air fry" on freezer tater tots and fries. "Pizza" for a personal sized freezer pizza and the "Rotisserie" setting to try and cook a whole raw chicken. While everything turned out crunchy without added oil. The chicken failed after 35 minutes. (Finished in regular oven). Completely my fault. It lost balance and couldn't keep spinning. I will need get some more practice to get that perfect balance on the Rotisserie for the breast heavy chickens my local store sells. May try game hens next time. The most important thing to remember, is this air fryer cooks so much quicker than I'm used to. It is mentioned in the manual to shave off about 20-30% of the time recommended for the food you are cooking. Once I can master the speed and settings. This should be a perfect companion to add an extra oven when cooking larger meals for friends and family get-togethers. It's only been a week, but it has been a good choice. And looking forward to trying the Jerky recipe for the dehydrate setting.

Great Extra Cooking Outlet
Posted .The Bella Pro Series - 12.6-qt. Touchscreen Air Fryer Pizza Oven Dehydrator - Stainless Steel machine in my opinion has earned 4 out of 5 stars because although it seems to perform a bunch of tasks, it does not toast. There are ovens of this type out there that can also toast and that allows the user to have only one appliance on the counter where real estate is at a premium and clutter not wanted. Although the oven is listed at 12.6 quarts in size, its footprint is small and it can only cook whatever food is about 7-8 inches in diameter. I am self-employed and I am using this multi-function oven in my office that is outside the home to cook my lunch and even dinner on very long days when I do not want to use a microwave. In fact both the microwave and the oven are side by side on a shelf in my back room. The oven, for safety purposes, has a short, polarized cord so it needs to be near and used in an outlet that can accept polarized tips. I have only had this oven for a little over a week, so.clearly, I have not had time to enjoy all the options that it has. However, I have used many of them and enjoy them and if you are in an office setting or a small apartment this is wonderful because it is a small appliance that allows you to perform multiple tasks. I did use the small owner's manual and can see that there are no hard and fast rules on times and temperatures. You see, even though it has preset times and temps based on the type of function, those are totally adjustable and there are several levels that the cooking shelf can be on so you would want less time and temp if you had the food that was cooking closer to the elements since it would need less. I did see an advisory point that said not to put the bacon on the top cooking level and too close to the element because that has more fat and could cause issues. The machine already comes with a solid drip pan for the bottom or whatever is your bottom cooking level, 2 perforated air crisper trays, a circular nonstick pizza pan, and rotisserie prongs and pincer. I have not yet had time to do a rotisserie item, but look forward to that. I often insert parchment paper on my cooking surfaces and did note that you can buy from Amazon 7 inch pre-cut circular pizza pan parchment papers in multiples of 100 or more. Just a final and quick thought, this is a great primary oven, unless, you need more space in a conventional-sized oven, but this is a great auxiliary cooker for holidays and special occasions that require more oven space that can be pulled out for the event and then put away, if wanted.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Not having a lot of spare countertop, I wanted an air fryer, but also one that could replace my toaster oven. It needed a small footprint, dishwasher safe parts and not too tall to fit under my cabinets. I read so many reviews, watched videos and downloaded the user manual for any that looked interesting. That ran into at least ten units. I am SO HAPPY WITH MY BELLA. I often use it instead of my oven. My initial concern was heat from the air fryer, but this has not been a problem at all. The air vented from the back is warm, not hot. Love the side swing door and it is so easy to clean. The only thing to watch out for (which is in the user manual, so read it), is the fan inside really pulls. Anything lightweight, like a flour tortilla, gets pulled up, so I put one of the slotted trays above it - problem solved. The non-stick trays are sturdy and really are non-stick.

It works. Pizza should not be in title.
Posted .Don't get me wrong. This oven will certainly make pizzas but what's the point if it can't put a standard Tombstone pizza? The pizza tray that comes with the oven would fit like 15% of the pizzas that one might buy in the frozen pizza aisle. This would be great if you're a bachelor watching their weight, but if you take down a Jack's pizza solo on the regular you'd be better off looking at something different. Build quality is amazing. The cooking time is QUITE impressive. The French bread in the picture was the first thing I attempted to cook. The box said 16-18 minutes in the oven and I just tapped the pizza button on the Bella and 8:00 appeared on the timer and the machine buzzed to life. In less than half the time the bread turned out perfect - if not a tad overdone! Very impressive. The outside of the bread had a nice crisp but the inside was nice and soft. French Fries were my next project and I placed two rows on the crisping racks and again the results were fantastic. Nice and crispy on the outside without drying out the inside. Overall it is an impressive machine that I would normally rave about, but I just can't get past the idea that I can't cook a normal tombstone pizza.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Food cooks super fast which is fantastic! This is my first air fryer to own and I am still testing it out with different foods and functions but overall I would recommend this item to everyone (my brother already bought one after I raved about it). Like I said, big variety in ways to cook. I’ve seen a lot of comments about cooking pizza and if you cook one 10in or smaller, it cooks amazing! Super impressed. Wish I would had bought one sooner! Great buy!

Promising Concept But Very Poor Execution
Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, Features, PriceCons mentioned:InstructionsThe Bella 12.6 Quart Air Fryer/Pizza Oven is an interesting concept. The unit was designed to offer a nicely balanced combination of air fryer, rotisserie, dehydrator and pizza oven capabilities. Unfortunately, a number of poor design choices render it as just a frustrating appliance which will annoy you more than it will please you.\r\n\r\nBella is a leading supplier of modestly-priced small kitchen appliances. The brand was launched in 2011 as a unit of Sensio, Inc. (now called Made by Gather.) Sensio was founded in 2003 and is based in Montreal, Canada. Most of its products are manufactured in China. Today Bella offers over 300 counter-top devices including bread makers, popcorn makers, air fryers, toasters, pressure cookers, slow cookers, blenders, waffle makers, coffee machines, sandwich makers, ovens, skillets, griddles and food processors (among others!) Sensio’s goal is to create products which are high quality but price-accessible, eliminate unnecessary complexity and use premium design to combine beauty and function. Their goal is to “foster human connection in the kitchen.” \r\n\r\nHere is a summary of the key features of this appliance:\r\n• Model: Bella Multifunction Air Fryer/Rotisserie/Dehydrator/Oven (Model 90116 R5)\r\n• Color: Glossy black plastic and stainless steel exterior\r\n• Oven capacity 11.9 liters/12.6 quarts\r\n• Includes full instruction booklet, online access to more recipes\r\n• Input power: 1600 watts\r\n• Primary functions: Bake, Air Fry, Dehydrate\r\n• Additional buttons: Power, Rotate, Light, Temp +/-, Time +/- \r\n• 10 presets (Air Fry, Roast, Broil, Bake, Reheat, Keep Warm, Pizza, Bacon, Dehydrate, Rotisserie)\r\n• Side opening double-insulated door with viewing window, insulated sides \r\n• Two 10.5 inch x 9.2 inch coated metal slotted cooking trays (8.3 inch x 7.3 inch flat surface)\r\n• 10 inch diameter coated metal pan (9.2 inch interior diameter)\r\n• 10.5 inch x 9.2 inch coated metal drip tray (8.3 inch x 7.3 inch flat surface)\r\n• Exterior dimensions: 13 inches wide, 14 inches deep (including cord wrap), 14.5 inches tall\r\n• Interior dimensions: 10.5 inches wide, 10 inches deep (including rear wall curve), 6.8 inches tall\r\n• Weight: 18 pounds\r\n• 120v, cord length: 33 inches\r\n• Two year warranty on parts and labor\r\n\r\nSensio’s Bella brand offers more than 30 different air fryers and the 12.6 Quart Air Fryer/Pizza oven/Dehydrator is in their “Pro” series, which includes products with premium features such as multiple capabilities and electronic touch screen controls. I was enthusiastic about this air fryer, based upon the stated features and its very attractive styling in stainless steel and glossy black plastic. \r\n\r\nUnfortunately, what I found as I tested this unit was bad engineering in key areas and an endless number of poor design choices.\r\n\r\nWhen I unpacked it and plugged it in I was very puzzled because it seemed to be broken. The touch screen was completely black and no control lights were visible. After studying it for a bit I noticed a very faint flashing red light in the upper right corner. I touched that light and that turned on the power. However, in a typical brightly lighted kitchen you will not be able to see that power button. But even when the power was on, the display screen is fairly dim. \r\n\r\nTouching any of the ten preset controls (Air Fry, Roast, Broil, Bake, Reheat, Keep Warm, Pizza, Bacon, Dehydrate, Rotisserie) activates the oven immediately, setting a pre-determined time and temperature. That time and temperature can be modified with +/- controls. However, the presets are another problem. There is no way to cancel the chosen operation except by turning off the power or opening the door. Then, if you turn off the power the control screen goes blank. There should be a “Cancel” or “End” button.\r\n\r\nThe door swings open to the side and that gives access to a surprisingly small interior. Despite a fairly massive exterior (13 inches wide by 14.5 inches tall) the oven interior is only 10.5 inches wide and only 6.8 inches tall. \r\n\r\nThis inadequate interior dimension ruined the major purpose to which I had hoped to use this oven – making pizzas! Despite the name, this is not a pizza oven! Most frozen pizzas are 11 inches wide and “rising crust” pizzas are 12 inches wide. One of my posted photos shows the actual difference in dimension between the oven and the pizza. Bella commits an unforgivable sin – luring pizza fans with a photo on the box showing a delicious pizza being baked inside the oven. But the very frustrated new owners will soon discover that they have been badly misled. \r\n\r\nAt the top of the interior of the oven a massive heating coil is positioned. (See photo.) But unlike other air fryers there is no protective screen under that heating coil to prevent your hand from accidently touching it when you reach into the oven. There is a track at the top which looks like it was designed to hold that screen but perhaps it was eliminated to save a few pennies. Watch your hand when reaching into this oven!\r\nThere are three tracks to locate the cooking trays but only two 10.5 inch wide by 9.2 inch deep slotted cooking trays are provided. The design of these trays is very poor. First, the trays have only a 8.3 inch by 7.3 inch depressed area to place the food upon, so they lose quite a bit of capacity. Second, the air flow (key to proper air frying) is greatly restricted by the size of the slots. The trays should be flat wire mesh – that would both increase their capacity and improve air flow. And a third tray should be provided!\r\n\r\nThe 10 inch pan (9.2 inch interior diameter) provided is useful for some tasks (like cooking bacon) but it is also poorly designed. It should have been made wide enough to slide into the tray slots. Instead you have to rest it on one of the cooking trays.\r\n\r\nI did not use the rotisserie accessory but the meager interior dimension of the oven would make finding a chicken small enough to fit a challenging shopping task. A much better use for the rotisserie function would have been to support basket/drum into which fries or other vegetables could have been put for tumbling air frying. But no such basket is provided (unlike some other air fryers!)\r\n\r\nThe provided owner’s manual is adequate but it is printed on flimsy paper and is only 5.5 inches square. It would be far more useful if it were at least 8 inches square and with a laminated cover to resist grease stains. \r\n\r\nAir fryers operate by blowing air over a heating coil and circulating that heated air over the food to cook it. The process is efficient but this oven is much noisier than necessary. I measured it at 67 decibels which is equivalent to a loud conversation. I have another air fryer which has a somewhat similar design and power level, but it creates only 55 decibels of sound in operation. That is about 40% as loud. The high noise level would make the dehydrator feature very unpleasant to use for the 2-3 hours required by that function.\r\n\r\nFinally, there is this disturbing note in the owner’s manual, “CAUTION: To prevent Plasticizers from migrating to the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters\r\nor place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear.” What? This oven requires you to put it on coasters because the feet are made of an inferior material? Ridiculous!!!\r\n\r\nGood points? Well, in some respects the Bella Air Fryer performed very well. I did find that the air fryer prepared a roasted pork chop/onion/green pepper bundle perfectly. The French fries (made from a sliced raw potato) were perfect. (See photos.) It also did an outstanding job on bacon using the round pan. No spattered grease and perfect crispness! As I noted earlier, the unit is very attractive. It is well-insulated and the exterior stays relatively cool in use. The side-opening door gives good access to the interior and the interior light allows you to check on cooking progress. All removable parts are dishwasher safe and cleaned up well after use. These positives are the basis for my two star rating.\r\n\r\n\r\nBut any air fryer should be able to properly prepare the food items which I made.\r\n\r\nThe litany of complaints noted above render the Bella 12.6 Quart Air Fryer Pizza Oven appliance as unacceptable, especially given the misleading “pizza oven” name. I have written more than 50 reviews of Best Buy products and this is the first time that I have been so disappointed by an item that I could not recommend it to a friend for purchase. I urge any prospective purchaser to continue shopping – much better products are available at Best Buy. Sensio, you need to make many changes to this Bella product to bring it up to the standards which a Best Buy customer has the right to expect.

I like this air fryer better than insigna air fryer which I also have because I can cook both bacon and potatoes at the same time. I put potatoes on middle rack and bacon on bottom. Also, we cooked roast chicken too. It was delicious. Anyway , I’m happy with my purchase.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Chicken, fries, pizza, and even steak turned out great. :) I even made a rotisserie chicken 4 pound! It was delicious. It's big, yet inside its a bit smaller. It took awhile to figure out there was a protective film over the digital controls... So at first I thought nothing was working. Make sure to remove it. This is a perfect fryer toaster oven.

Q: QuestionHow does the dehydrator function work? Any one have experience with it? I have fruit trees and fruit to dehydrate from time to time.
Asked by KitchenQueen.
- A:Answer all you need to dehydrate is a low heat source --- i am considering this for air fryer -- but i have a dehydrator and all it is is a low temp oven -- ussually says set at 140* --- so any heat source that has a low enough setting can be used as a dehydrator --- even your reg oven or an aluminum or steel bow setting in the sun --- there are videos on you tube explaining ways to dehydrate -- if interested -- be thee well
