      Best Audio DVD to date

From the first time I played this years ago, this dvd remains my #1 favorite of all my collection. The dts mix and quality is absolutely fantastic. This shows what is possible even without hi-def. There are some other great convert dvd's in dts , but this is tops. Every channel has top notch sound coming from it, but does not sound artificial at all as often happens. Crank this up very loud, sit in the middle, and the realism will put you into the concert. Black and white video rather than color actually adds to the effect in my opinion, making it a bit surreal and placing the emphasis on the sound where it belongs. Did I mention that I love this dvd? You won't be sorry, even if you are only remotely a fan of Roy Orbison - in fact you will likely become a fan after listening to this!

      Roy is my idol!!!!!

Roy Orbison has always been my idol. I actually picked this Blu-ray up yesterday along with the Roy box set: The Soul of Rock and Roll. I love the way Roy’s voice floats smoothly like a cool summer breeze. This concert that Roy Orbison did has to be my all-time favorite. The song he did with Bruce Springsteen “Dream Baby (How Long Must I Dream)” is the greatest song ever. Him and Bruce’s harmonies work like clockwork. This Blu-ray is a must have for any fan of classic rock!

      Last Great Tribute

Quite possibly the last great tribute of the late Roy Orbison, this one night only musical masterpiece features some of the greatest musicians of the time. As a sign of respect, some of the greats like Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, and even Elvis’ touring band got together to perform some of the great hits of Roy Orbison’s catalog. What a treat it turned out to be. Perfectly mixed and produced, this great show would have been an honor to attend. Wish I could have been there…..

I FIRST SAW THIS PROGRAM WHEN ORIGINALLY SHOWN ON HBO IN THE 80'S. I WAS BLOWN AWAY WITH JUST THE STEREO MTS SOUND THEN. EVEN BETTER ON DVD NOW. LANDMARK PERFORMANCE OF ROY'S GREATEST HITS WITH BIG NAME SUPPORTING PLAYERS. IF ARE A FAN OF ROY, THIS IS THE FIRST DVD YOU SHOULD BUY. IF NOT, YOU PROBABLY WILL BE BY THE TIME THE PROGRAM ENDS. MY LOCAL PBS STATION RUNS IT FROM TIME TO TIME, IF YOU WANT TO PREVIEW IT. I ALWAYS TUNE IN WHEN THEY DO.

1 of the best music dvd's ever

This is one of the best music dvd's I have ever bought. I was brought up by my father on artists like Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, so to see this and hear Roy's voice redone in DTS and to see him with superstars of that time who idolized him, is amazing. Crying and Only The Lonely are my 2 fav. on the DVD, but they are all great. Buy this if you are a fan of great music!

I don’t think you can find another musical artist who didn’t deserve more credit than Roy Orbison. Somehow overshadowed his entire career, Roy shines in this perfect tribute from the other stars. My favorite song has always been “In Dreams” and when the Violinists put the famous Roy Orbison sunglasses on makes it that much better! Roy’s music is truly what keeps his legend alive!

If you are going to pretend to be cool, you have to start with this in your collection. Add some Johnny Cash, Everly Brothers... temper the sounds with Dire Straights/Brothers in Arms... ...put on some White Stripes and finish the day with London Symphony's "Led Zeppelin/Kashmir". (It doesn't hurt to have the entire Beatles catalog on hand.)

i previously owned the audio version of this performance, but since my fiancé recently purchased a blu-ray player, i figured i would get this disc. since we’re all listing our favorites here, mine would have to be the “pretty woman” rendition with everyone participating on stage. priceless.
