After Set 7 being 90% filler, Set 8 is a nice change of pace and brings us back to the main story of Bleach. This Blu-ray features episodes 196-223, 28 episodes in total. There are plenty of iconic fights in this set, my personal favorite being Kenpachi vs Nnoitra. The video quality is a bit better than the previous Blu-ray. Set 7 looked pretty rough at times, even for an upscale. Keep in mind this is not true 1080p HD and is merely an upscale. Bleach was animated before 1080p was the norm. A slight fuzziness is the best way I can think to describe the quality. Video is 16:9 and not cropped 4:3. Later episodes in the series may prove to be a visual improvement on Blu-ray due to another shift in quality at the original time of airing in Japan. Only time will tell what Viz puts out for us. The highlight of this Blu-ray is the packaging. Slipcover is holofoil, high quality material. The slip itself features Shinji while the artwork on the interior is the same image of Shinji, but with his Visored mask disappearing/half visible. A small but nice touch. This set once again includes reverse artwork inside, this time it is a beautiful group shot of the Visoreds with a new quote on the opposite side. This is the most visually impressive packaging to date, in my opinion. Bonus features include art gallery of original Japanese DVD covers, clean opening and endings, interview with Chris Smith (voice of Wonderweiss and Rose). Nothing too crazy but better than nothing. Overall I highly recommend this set to any Bleach fan. Tons of great battles, quality animation, beautiful packaging, you can't go wrong here.

Love the series. I’ve already seen the entire series, but like that they brought it to blu-ray. Get more episodes for your buck than on dvd sets.

Got this on a terrific sale. One of my favorite anime’s. Glad to hear it’s coming back to wrap it up!
