Cate Blanchett plays a great part about a woman going from Riches to rags due to her dishonest husband. The characters neurocies shine through. Enjoy it. I did.

Blue Jasmine made me think of Tennessee William's "A Street Car Named Desire" lifted from the South and dropped down in New York. I have been a long-time fan of Cate Blanchett who won a Best Actress Oscar for this film. In this movie she is forced to tear away pretenses and end up mumbling on a New York park bench. This is a story about loss of money, glamour, and illusions resulting in a detailed analysis of a life being torn apart. Looking like a play while being written by Woody Allen, this is a drama centering on one character receiving a severe beating by life. Definitely appealed to the serious side of me but also is not for everyone.

Blue Jasmine won best picture at the Academy Awards. The movie has a lot to offer in that it captures your attention and holds it. The characters portrayed their roles in good form and the plot was quite refreshing. Furthermore, I found it to funny, exciting and entertaining, also charming in the way it depicted the upside of how life can work out for the best when dared to be lived at it's fullest.
