Q: is this a side mount to the cabinet or under mount to the countertop?

A: It's was not mounted to the countertop. We have stone top. It was mounted to the cabnets. It has a bracket. I would have to check if it is mounted to the side or top.

Q: What is the exact measurement or dimensions

A: This dishwasher is 23.57 inches wide, 22.57 inches deep and 32.07 inches high.

Q: Do you have to use the water softener function on this dishwasher? Or is it optional?

A: It's optional but still a good idea to use it every so often but definitely not necessary to use it every time you run the dishwasher.

Q: Does this dishwasher have AquaStop leak protection. How does AquaStop work and what type of leaks will it detect?

A: To my understanding it has a water stop function if the dishwasher detects a leak.

Q: For those who use the water softening function: about how frequently does the salt need to be refilled? Or alternatively, how long does a 1lb bag of salt last?

A: Hi there, thank you for your question. On average, (depending on usage) about every 4 weeks the salt needs to be re-filled. There will be a salt indicator to let you know when it is time.

Q: Previous model has several reviews about a horrible odor from the tub that can't be removed and about plastic cups, etc washed in that machine having a permanent odor. Have these issues been corrected w/ this model?

A: I have noticed a slight odor that was present from the start before machine ever used but nothing terrible. Have washed plastic items that have not picked up any odor.
