Fantastic sound improvement
||Posted .I purchased this to replace a tired, old 12+ year old Sony 5.1 surround sound system. It is solidly built, the sound is great, and it just looks sleek and mean. The AdaptIQ feature is a breeze to set up and improves the overall simulated surround quality based on your room acoustics. I spent some time on this and got it to a level where I can't really tell the surround sound is only simulated... the technology baked into this unit really does make you believe you have rear channel speakers. I find that this system does not really come into its own until you start to actually get the volume up to at least 1/3 of max - that is where the "thump" of the subwoofer and the clearness of the audio will really start to become apparent. The center channel (i.e. usually voice) is crisp and can be heard distinctly from all the other sounds. This was my main problem with my old system - I'd have to crank up the volume to hear characters talking softly then all of a sudden - BOOM! when an action scene came on and I'd have to drop the volume again. I would be adjusting volume 20x per show or movie I was watching, but that is no longer necessary. This system has reduced the number of cables running around the perimeter of my room since the audio primarily comes from just the sound bar unit, and the subwoofer is wireless. One caveat: If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port and you plan to use other HDMI devices (BluRay Player, Cable/Fiber Box, Game console, etc.), you will loose a lot of the available functionality particularly where controlling other HDMI devices from the Bose remote is involved. You will also need to buy an optical audio cable which is not included (that'll cost you another $10-$15, but if you are splurging on this sound bar system , then it's probably no big deal anyway) If you like nice things and can swing the $1500, this is an awesome sound bar. I recommend it highly.

Great sound and easy to use
||Posted .The Cinemate 130 was worth the money. The set up was easy and the sound is amazing. I researched and then listened to almost all other sound bars prior to making this purchase. This is the only one that sounds good at low levels for normal tv viewing. But when you turn it up for movies it is as you were at the movie theater. Great bass and the phantom surround sound produced is amazing. When people are over they are always trying to find speakers behind them. This setup gives a true 3d sound. I love this sound bar. I paid full price for it and it is worth every penny. I have it in a 20 x 25 room and it fills the space very well with sound.

Great and Probably BEST Sound Bar for Home Use
||Posted .I researched and listened to several sound bars. The Bose was by far the best. Was simple to install. Works best with an optic cable, so make sure you have one. Bose definitely has their sound manipulated perfectly. Watching football games is a lot more exciting. You can hear the crowd behind you (although there aren't any speakers behind you). You can hear the quarterback shouting his commands and the clunking of the players hitting each other. The subwoofer adds to the realism with the floor rumbling with different movies that have cannons going off. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a whole lot different movie to watch with the HiFi that was coming out of the Bose System.

Great system / Great sound
||Posted .I purchased the Cinemate 130 system for our den/family room. We had a new entertainment center / cabinet built and I wanted something that would provide a quality sound without taking away from the beauty of the cabinet. In other words, I wanted it to be "heard" and not "seen." After listening to both the Cinemate 120 and 130, I opted for the 130. Setup was extremely easy and I had everything connected in under 30 minutes. Upon powering up, I was blown away by the sound. I cannot wait to watch the 2015 Masters in April as well as other shows. I played a movie on the Blue Ray player and it, too, was fantastic in terms of sound quality and range of sound. The one thing I have not tried is playing songs from iTunes, etc. that are burned onto a CD. But, if that quality of sound is like the other media, I'm sure I will be pleasantly surprised there, too. Pros: Ease of setup, Bose quality, Bose sound. Cons: None.

Bose does it again
||Posted .I was looking for a great sound system without all of the wires and hassles of setup. The bose cinemate 130 is the way to go. Setup was extremely easy. All of the peripherals I own go directly into the cinemate. The cinemate sends the signal directly into the TV via hdmi. So there's only one cord that goes into the back of the TV! The sub that comes with the cinemate is connected via my wifi signal. So, I can place it anywhere I want and not have to worry about a cord coming out of the cinemate. The sound is unreal! You've got to check this thing out.

Great soundbar and wireless Acoustimass® module
||Posted .I have to admit that the Bose name was the initial draw here and the Polk system I replaced was really nice but the Bose sound bar and wireless Acoustimass® module/sub-woofer has really been a refreshing experience. I had read some reviews about the sub-woofer not pounding out the bass but I don't get that at all, in my opinion, the sound it puts out doesn't overwhelm the system with bass. I love it!

WOW
||Posted .This sound bar is amazing. I was going back and forth between the sonos and bose. I have to say that I picked the real winner. The sound is crystal clear and surrounds your room with just one bar. I got the audioquest vodka hdmi cord to go with it and it makes it ten times better. Trust me there is no better sound bar on the market today.

Awesome experience
||Posted .We were originally set on the lower end model, but the best buy associate introduced us to the 130 demo. This has far exceeded out expectations and simplified our lives with the universal remote. We now truly have a home theater experience without all the wires. Setup was quick and easy.

Q: Question4K Ultra HDTV from SonyWill this Bose work with the 4K ultra TV's? I was thinking about buying a Sony XBR65X850B for my living room but I am not sure if this system is compatible with the TV.
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Absolutely! All your peripherals connect into the Bose cinemate. Only one hdmi cable will connect into the TV. It's extremely simple.

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between the 130 and the 135?What's the difference between the 130 and 135?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question. The CineMate 130 and Lifestyle 135 III system use the same speaker package and audio quality. The Lifestyle 135 III system offers Unify® intelligent setup with on-screen display and a radio frequency remote (which allows you to hide your a/v components from sight). The Lifestyle system also includes an AM/FM tuner and has analog video inputs along with HDMI (The CineMate 130 offers 4 HDMI inputs). We hope this helps!

Q: QuestionCan I connect wireless headphones to the 130?I am interested in a home theater system where that I can connect wireless headphones to. Would I need to purchase an adapter?
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer Hi Chris, Wired headphones can be connected to the 1/8" headphone output on the right side of the CineMate control console. Wireless headphones are not compatible. It's possible a third party wireless transmitter would allow for this function, though you would most likely experience an audio delay, which translates to an audio/video sync issue. If you'd like to further discuss this, please contact our tech support team who can help. They can be reached at 1-800-380-4831 and are available 8:30am-10:00pm M-F, 9am-7:00pm Sat EST. Thank you.

Q: QuestionCan you breakdown the differences between the 120 and 130? Thanks
Asked by Nelly.
- A:Answer Hi Nelly, The only real difference is the size of the soundbar unit. The 120 has a 17" soundbar, and the 130 has a 37" soundbar - there are more speakers built into the 130 so you'll get more oomph from it as well. The control units, remotes, and subwoofers are otherwise identical. I actually own one of each - the 130 is on my big TV in the living room, and the 120 is on a 37" TV in the pub in my basement. They both sound fantastic - if space is a consideration, the 120 probably is a better choice. If you have the space and the extra coin, I'd say indulge yourself on the 130. i hope that helps!

Q: QuestionSound codecs on 130 vs 135Hi I just bought the cinemate 130. Does it process the Dolby and dts sound codecs. I don't see any information about it in the manual. 135 however has details about it in the description. What am I missing here? I know about 4k limitations of 135,just FYI.
Asked by Pan.
- A:Answer The CineMate 130 will process Dolby Digital , DTS and Uncompressed PCM 5.1 (HDMI only). The CineMate 130 will pass through 4K. The LifeStyle 135 III will support Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master Audio (will playback embedded DTS 5.1 file) and Uncompressed PCM 5.1 .
