After all auditioning several pairs of bookshelf speakers, these are the pinnacle of them all. The soundstage is amazing, full rich mids and very good lows. I would certainly pair it with a musical sub. The craftsmanship is amazing on these.

Love my B&W 705 Signature- they sound gorgeous with amazing dynamics and they are perfect high end speakers for a high end system - I matched mine with Macintosh MA252 and the system sings. The sonic character is amazing and the Datuk gloss cabinets are gorgeous and contribute to my listening elegance looks. Highly recommend you chose these book shelves if you want top sound and bothered by large stand up speakers. I also bought the matching speaker stands and zero regrets. Buy and enjoy the sound

Only have had these for less than a week but they are 800 D4's in a square box. The beautiful gloss wood cabinets, the all carbon high-end tweeter and the continuum driver give these speakers depth, accuracy and warmth other speakers do not have--reagrdless of price point. The 705 Signatures replaced my venerable KEF LS50 Anniversaries. They are superb but they sounded a bit muddles in the lower end compared to these. Again, these are $4,000 a pair the KEFs are $1,600.00. No comparison. These punch up much higher than their price points. The sound stage is magnificent while being powered by my McIntosh MA252 tube amp hybrid. Stereophile and The Absolute Sound reviews (available as links here I believe) are spot on. I realize that $4K for bookshelves is astounding to many, but these actually hit my sweet spot. A few caveats about my listening style: I have owned several pairs of Bowers & Wilkins speakers and enjoy their unique sound signature. I also couple all of my B & Ws with a REL subwoofer. I have a REL T/zero attached to these 705 Signatures and I love the sound. My other speakers are the 703 S2s -- with REL T/7x (also purchased from Magnolia-Best Buy). Once again Will H. at the Mt. Laurel (NJ) Magnolia store hooked me up and did a great job. In the end, there are a lot of great speakers in all shapes and sizes. One needs to find a particular sound signature and style that makes your ears and your brain happy. Budget is also a concern, but Let the Music Play.....
