DOLBY ATMOS®

FEEL EVERY DIMENSION

Enter a new world of sound with Dolby Atmos. It transports you from an ordinary moment into an extraordinary experience with captivating, multidimensional sound that fills your room and flows all around you to move your mind, body and soul.

THE DOLBY ATMOS DIFFERENCE

What sets Dolby Atmos apart? You can add an enormous number of speakers to create extremely detailed and powerful sounds, but adding more speakers is just the beginning. A traditional system has speakers set up on a flat plane, which lacks height dimension. In real life, at a stadium for example, the ear-splitting, thunderous roar of the crowd is everywhere, even above you. And that's exactly what Dolby Atmos recreates in your home.
Here's how Dolby Atmos achieves extremely lifelike sound:

FILL THE ROOM

The Dolby Atmos environment starts with a complete sonic atmosphere with you in the center. By delivering wonderfully complex and nuanced background sounds, you'll experience a truly lifelike sound "bed." Of course, the background is only the start of the story.

PUT SOUND INTO MOTION

Sound isn't stationary, and Dolby Atmos distributes sounds of people, music and things that move in space, so you feel like you're in the middle of the action as it flows around you. When an arrow flies overhead, you hear the sound zip above you. When a river tumbles over a waterfall, the roar travels with the same movement. Behind, overhead or way off to the side, sound is located precisely where it belongs.

MOVE YOUR MIND, BODY
AND SOUL

By combining complex sound beds with accurate multidimensional objects, Dolby Atmos leverages the psychology and physics of sound to excite your senses and inspire your emotions. The result is the kind of powerfully moving environment that you would expect in a movie theater — in your own home.

SOUND COMES ALIVE

How does it all come together? Imagine you're watching the biggest car race of the year. All the sounds of the stadium completely surround you in a full audio "bed." Fans cheer from near and far. A helicopter hovers overhead, and that's exactly where the sound comes from, rather than from a side channel. You hear the things that are happening even behind you. Then, as the cars roar around the track, the speakers that represent those locations blast the sound of their engines with precision and direction. Those are the sound "objects" that move around you. The combination makes you feel like you're really at the track, ready to stand and cheer.

BRING IT ALL HOME

Experience this sound revolution in your own living room. All you need is a receiver featuring Dolby Atmos support, a Blu-ray player or Blu-ray gaming console, or a streaming media player. You can even enjoy the Dolby Atmos experience with your current speaker setup. To incorporate the overhead sound experience, you'll want to add at least two overhead speakers, or choose the Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers that create height dimension. You can choose from a traditional 7.1-channel layout or add up to 34 speakers in a 24.2.10 configuration, with 24 speakers on the floor and 10 speakers overhead.
