I did laser 10 years ago in a professional office. Now, as my hair started to grow back, I bought the Silk-expert Pro5 IPL epilator, as I have light skin and dark hair. Making this decision was difficult, but I decided to trust other reviews. After 4 weeks, I can see the hair already gone, even when they say it will take 6-8 weeks to slow down the growth. The fact the epilator recognize the color of your skin automatically is a plus, as in some areas, we have darker skin than others I am pretty happy with my decision to have this epilator!

I'm really disappointed with this product after giving it a try for 4 weeks. I followed the procedure as mentioned in the manual - clean shaved the area and then used the IPL before using any product and moisturized only after the treatment was done. First, I tried it on my lower legs, like a patch-test to see within 24 hours if I'd have any side-effects, which it didn't. The epilator was easy to use and I didn't feel any burning pain or anything. However, after 2-3 days, I started seeing tiny hairs grow back like it'd normally do after shaving. As the product claims it'd take certain weeks to see visible change, I patiently continued the treatment for 3 more weeks. It was always itchy after the treatment, which they say it's normal and would be better with moisturizing heavily twice a day. So I did that too but that didn't help at all and after 4 weeks of initial treatment now I'm having an unbearable itching problem that started giving me hives and making it very difficult to even sleep. In the areas where they itch, I've also noticed some pigmentation that resembles the IPL head shape. The epilator showed that my skin was Type 4, which would mean it would be effective on my olive skin type with dark black hair. But with this severe itchiness and a failed trial over 4 weeks time without any visible change, I decided to return this. I would have given it more time if Best Buy had extended time to return but again with the itchiness and pigmentation, I don't think it's even worth it.

This is the first time I tried IPL Hair Removal System and I must say I loved the results in just about 2-3 treatments. I love this product, it is really simple to use and I was surprised how quickly it gets work done. I went through the manual before using it. Firstly you must shave all visible hair from the area you want to treat and the skin must be clean & dry. I tried this on my one leg and one underarm first so that I could see the difference side by side. I have seen a noticeable difference in just about three treatments which are about a 30-40% decrease in hair density. You need to repeat the process every week and you should start seeing the noticeable results in just after 3-4 sessions. After the third week, I have noticed that the hair growth on that leg and underarm was slower and hair is getting finer with some bald patches. So far I am very happy with the results. Initially, I was thinking it to be a painful process but it was not at all painful and all I felt is a light sting. I love that I can control the level of intensity on my skin as my own preferences. I use the standard-setting on my leg and gentle setting in my underarm area. This can now really save me time and money & there is no need to go to a salon for waxing and spend dollars. It comes with a razor, additional precision head (to tackle the smaller areas like face, bikini area, etc) & a pouch to keep all the stuff together. I am glad I got this and will continue to use this in other areas to get the best results. It is pricey but the end result is worth the money. I am very happy with the comfort of this machine and its overall results in such a short time. This is one of the best products I’ve used for myself. Highly recommend.
