Probably the Best Juicer I've Ever Known

First, this juicer addresses a major problem glazed over by others. Often a juicing screen is easily put out of round, creating major vibration and reducing the efficiency of the juicer. The Breville Juice Fountain Plus's extraction screen is titanium reinforced; it is ultra strong. You can't put it out of round unless you hit it with a hammer. Incidentally, the extraction blade/screen from my juicer was PERFECTLY round, allowing for extremely smooth and vibration-free operation. There are also neat little rubber feet on the base to prevent any transfer of vibration (the negligible amount there is) to your counter. The motor is powerful! I can run 6 carrots at a time and they will be pulled down by gravity alone; I don't need to push. For extra tough produce, the motor may slow ever so slightly but not much. The 850 watts are more than enough to handle anything. Also, the juicer is very easy to clean, taking about 3 minutes (if you clean it right after use.) I just run the washable parts under warm water, no soap required. I've been though about 10 juicers and this is by far the best. Don't mess around with the cheaper juicers that are out there; bite the bullet and pay the extra money, you won't regret it. One more thing; I've always re-juiced pulp. No matter what juicer you get, there's still some juice left in the pulp; this is simply a function of centrifugal juicers, it's inescapable. I don't consider that fact a negative, in fact I gain a great deal of pleasure getting an extra cup or two of juice that would otherwise be thrown away. About that, with lesser juicers, re-juicing the pulp results in an unpleasant grainy texture from bits of pulp that get through....NOT so with the Breville! The texture of the juice is Perfectly smooth! That's a big deal, for me! Just some metrics: From 80 ounces of carrots I extracted 60 ounces of juice, from the first juicing, 8 ounces from 2 subsequent juicings. On average, from the first extraction, I get about 70% of the weight of the whole produce in juice weight. Firmer, CRISPER produce yields more juice. Do not use wilted produce. If I juice the pulp a couple more times, I can increase the yield to 80% of the whole produce weight. I usually re-juice the pulp until no more juice comes out. With the way produce prices are, I don't want to waste anything! The resulting pulp can be used to make stock. (Filter out the fiber when you're done, BTW.)

I bought this juicer because I don’t really eat fruits or veggies and I was gaining weight.. I became so unhealthy so I want to get back on track. Well I started making my juices and I lost like 7 pounds within like the first 2 weeks. It’s fast and also easy to clean, when I finish using it, I’ll just rinse it and scrub the filter basket with the little brush and then I do clean it thoroughly once a week. I use the trick that everyone knows already with the leafy greens too and it works fine. My skin is looking healthier too because I suffer from I don’t know what maybe seborrheic dermatitis, tinea versicolor I don’t really know but it’s helping me with that. I also just bought the omega 8004 juicer so that I can be able to store my juice longer because with the breville you know you have to drink the juice the same day because the nutrients go away fast with Centrifugal juicers and with masticating juicers you can store the juice for up to 72 hours. If you don’t really have time or you just want to make juice faster and drink it right away or the same day..get this one it’s great, you will also get the benefits:) I love that I don’t have to cut everything into small pieces all the time, it’s a big time saver and it’s fun.

OK I got this juicer just as soon as it came out. I read all the reviews of all the juicers I could find, and it was clear that Breville was the best way to go. And the raves were all about the previous model which had less power and only one speed. I love the juicer but I guess I was expecting a divine product by the review I read. I'll just say it is good quality without drooling all over about it... PRO'S: ~Great Power ~easy to clean, (do it sooner rather than let stuff dry on) ~smartly designed electrical plug ~motor cannot run if parts are not locked together (for safety reasons) ~product has few angles and many curves, which makes cleaning easier since pulp/juice can be hard to reach where there are corners ~two speeds: fast for power, slow for soft items ~it really can make 8oz juice in 5 seconds! ~huge food chute can accommodate an entire apple... you save time not needing to cut many things pre-juicing. CON'S: ~tomatoes - even on slow setting, the juicer doesn't efficiently grab all the juice of a tomato. perhaps do tomatoes first, then recycle the 'pulp' back through juicer to get more juice ~even though the plastic is durable and dark colored (to distract against discoloration) carrots do tend to stain it immediately. The con's are really quite trivial but I thought I should mention them since I was expecting pure perfection based on the reviews I read. I love the product and I would not swap it for anything. Besides, it is extremely affordable for what you get out of it!

I have used this juicer for little over a month. I am new to the plant based lifestyle and admittedly, I was worried about spending the money on a gimmick, it's a nice addition to my already spotless kitchen. I've grown to really love this thing. It juices quickly and efficiently. It is a little loud, but, it sits on my granite counter top, so I guess that is to be expected. I researched juicers and found that this was the best option in this price range. I am currently doing the Reboot (fat sick and nearly dead) juice diet and it's working. 1-2 times a day, this thing juices kale, celery, whole cucumbers, whole granny smith apples, etc. I have never once had a problem. It's actually kind of fun...reminds me of the woodchipper scene from "Fargo". The only thing I do not enjoy is cleaning it. Every piece of this thing needs to be cleaned after every use, which is to be expected. It's not a big deal, but, I am very thorough and I take the plastic pieces apart, scrub them in the sink and then run them through a light wash on the top tray in the dish washer. Overall, I could not be more pleased. If you are not going to commit to the diet, do not waste your money. If you are definitely going to do this, then you will love this thing.

We had been looking at juicers for a while before we decided to buy this one. We liked the features that this one has like the powerful motor and the separate pulp container. We have had it for two weeks now and are happy with our purchase. It seems to be a rugged machine that will last a while. That being said, we did look at other juicers that had longer warranty period where this one only has 1 year. Some of the reviews we read on this one claim that it leaks. We haven’t seen any leaking. The other problem people claimed was that the food came back out of the feed chute. The only time it has come closer (never came back out), was when we used baby carrots. We switched to regular carrots and have had no problem. We really like the suction cups on the bottom, they work well and the machine has never walked across the counter like other machines we have heard do. About the only con on this machine would be that it does not extract a lot of juice from leafy greens, but we knew that before we purchased it. There are slow juicers that are much better with leafy greens, but they also take longer to make the juice. We did make a video showing the unboxing, parts and demonstration of the juicer for anyone trying to make their decision. Just copy and paste this link... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVs81vcVlCs

This is easily a four or even five star purchase. After doing a great deal of research, I chose the Breville brand. Then I chose this model because of the price at Best Buy ($150). I've had it for over a month, so I certainly can't speak to how well this machine holds up over time. Perhaps i'll update this review in 6-12 months. All my research cautioned about the amount of clean up work necessary, but none prepared me for the reality of it. It is so much work that I find myself not juicing anywhere near as much as I'd like. (This is not a fault of the product however, and is probably the same for all juicers). My one complaint about the product (that resulted in a four star rating) is that it doesn't really extract juice well at all from leafy greens. My research lead me to understand that this category of vegetable is a tough one, and that only specialized devices can really do justice. Nevertheless, I was lead to expect some juice extraction. Alas, a head Black Kale is reduced to a mere drop or two. The manual is clear and helpful, though I found the recipe section a bit sparse. Still, I love the juice I make with this.

I got this juicer for my first juicing experience because I have a great Breville convection toaster oven. I've been very pleased. The instructions were easy to follow. The juicer leaves very dry pulp. I feel great drinking the juice I make, full of dark, leafy greens, healthy veggies, ginger root, and a couple different fruits. The only complaint is some of the veggies, like broccoli, get stuck and gum up the system. The clear cover makes it easy to see where the problem is. If the item is not juiced all the way, I just put it back through the chute. I line the pulp container with a plastic produce bag to keep clean up easy. I do not put the food pusher or the blade part through the dishwasher, washing those by hand using the brush, but the clear plastic pieces go in and come out nicely.

My wife and I bought this juicer nearly 2 years ago (Jan 2013). We were trying to be healthy and had been doing fruit and vegetable smoothies but those were getting just too much to gulp down. So we tried juicing and we loved it, a glass of juice is much easier to drink than a smoothie. After going through a few others juicers, my brother in law suggested we check out Breville's juicers. The cost was a little more than we budgeted but in the long run has more than paid for itself. The dual speed allows you to extract much more juice with a lot less pulp. We usually make enough juice to drink one in the morning for breakfast and take juice with us for lunch so the larger capacity comes in handy so we don't have to clear out the pulp mid way through. Easily makes 32 oz of juice. Yes, cleaning can be a pain but its definitely a must immediately after you finish juicing. Every few months we do a deep clean by soaking it in oxyclean over night to remove any buildup. 2 years running and it still looks and works like new.
