Walter Hill directed Richard Pryor in the comedy Brewster's Millions, which comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. French and Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer and production notes. Aside from the solid picture quality, there is little on this Universal release that will interest the average DVD consumer.
Great movie. Watched it with my son who really enjoyed it. The premise is a lot of fun, and it's funny to see Richard Pryor at work with greats like John Candy. This blu ray looks great and the supplements are cool which includes the old black and white original 1945 film.
Every since I saw this movie at the age of 11, it has been one of my favorites. The chemistry between Pryor and John Candy is phenomenal. I already owned this on Blu-ray, but was drawn in by Shout Factory's release. Their other releases are very well done. This movie is no exception. A very nice improvement over the other version that was released a few years ago.
