Synopsis

Brother Bear 2: The Moose Are on the Loose
An old friendship is renewed and new bonds are forged as Kenai and Nita set out on the adventure of a lifetime in this animated, direct-to-video sequel to the 2003 Disney hit Brother Bear. When Kenai emerges from his first hibernation with a hearty appetite and a craving for the best spring berries around, he takes his younger brother Koda to Crowberry Ridge for a delicious feast. As Rutt and Tuke scour the landside looking for some female companionship, Kenai is surprised to find his childhood friend Nita venturing into the wilderness with a pressing problem that only Kenai can solve. It appears as if the amulet given to Nita by Kenai has much greater power than either of them had previously thought, and in order to marry, the old friends must travel back to Hokani Falls to burn the amulet together. Now, as the pair travel over icy mountain ranges and down raging rivers, the plan set into motion by the Great Spirits for Nita and Kenai slowly begins to come into focus. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Brother Bear
In the Disney-animated adventure Brother Bear, Joaquin Phoenix provides the voice of Kenai, a young Native American boy whose brother, Sitka (voice of D.B. Sweeney), is killed by a mother bear protecting her cubs. With revenge in mind, Kenai sets out into the woods only to find himself magically transformed into a bear himself. Seeing the world through the eyes of his prey, Kenai is forced to learn a lesson about nature and life. On a comic footnote: Brother Bear also features the voices of Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Rutt and Tuke, moose characters reminiscent of their beer-guzzling McKenzie brothers from SCTV and Strange Brew; because this is a family-oriented cartoon - and it would be inappropriate for the moose to quaff beer -- the two moose express a fondness for eating wheat hops instead. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

I never bought this film on regular DVD I went ahead & bought this mainly to get the Disney Rewards code A disappointment at the box office. Does anyone even remember this film? Disney trying to tell e a story & trying to get a point across. Fine BUT….. In past SUCCESSFUL films, they did this with great characters, music, humor, etc. this film has NONE of that. No good music, does anyone remember any character in this film? The small bear, Koda, NOT even close to Thumper, otherwise called a beloved Disney character. Then, they made a sequel to a NOT successful film. Why? NO reason for a sequel. OK, this was released same day as the 2 Mulan films and the 2 Hunchback of Notre Dame films to blu ray. This UNSUCCESSFUL film has a "making of" extra. BUT, successful & a film I really like, Mulan had NONE of this on that set. A boring, disappointing film. IF you want NO fun & just a story shoving a point down your throat then you will like the film. A true Disney fan will NOT.

A cheap fun romp in the woods that has been told better in other forms, this movie is just ok. Wouldn't pay anywhere near full price for it, especially since the movie's director chose to waste screen space for the first 20 minutes. (it's boxed really tiny but opens up once the main character becomes a bear... AFTER 20 minutes) I thought the blu-ray was damaged or something, but it's just the poor directing.

This is a great movie, minus 2 exceptions. First, there isn't a digital copy. Second, there is a major formatting difference if you are used to the DVD version...so much so, I nearly returned the movie...but hold out, after he turns into a bear the picture expands to fit widescreen.

As i attempt to upgrade all my DVD's to Blurays it's always great finding combo packs that still retain the traditional quality and upgrade at an affordalbe price. Especially Disney. Brother Bear is and will always mean a lot to me since I also have older brothers.

not one of Disney's better efforts in recent years but perfectly fine family entertainment nonetheless. I happen to be in the process of collecting all of the Walt Disney canon animated films, so naturally I picked this one up too.

The movies are good...being how Disney does a good job. I love the fact that it is a bluray/dvd combo pack.....but most that it includes both Brother Bear & Brother Bear 2. It beats having to buy two separate movie.
