Not to be confused with the 1930 Columbia talkie of the same name, the 1929 Rayart production Brothers stars Cornelius Keefe and Arthur Rankin as siblings Tom and Bob Conroy. Orphaned early in life, Tom and Bob were separated in childhood, with Tom escaping from the authorities as Bob is hauled off to an orphanage. Years pass: Tom has become a successful holdup man, while Bob pursues more positive activities in college. Upon locating Bob, Tom persuades his brother to join him in a big-time robbery. Bob pretends to go along, but only in the hope that he can convince Tom to change his crooked ways. This he does by saving Tom from going to the "chair" for a murder committed by two-bit hoodlum Randy (George Cheseboro).
