Description
The life and musical career of prolific jazz musician Dave Brubeck is profiled in this intimate portrait that follows the pianist from his childhood on the ranch to the formation of the innovative Dave Brubeck Quartet and beyond. As a child living on his father's ranch, Brubeck yearned to become a cowboy and ride the open range. Upon discovering music, the talented youngster used his vivid imagination and natural musical skills to explore a whole new landscape. After gaining wide popularity in the 1950s and 60s with the Dave Brubeck Quartet, the talented musician would garner international acclaim thanks to Paul Desmond's "Take Five", and in the years that followed Brubeck would continue to explore new musical territory while never losing sight of the musical enthusiasm which launched his career. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
